Message from Smokin' Joe Jones BBQ

Smokin' Joe Jones Mississippi Barbecue Sauce is a 60 year old family secret recipe using lots of tomato, garlic and wild honey. The tradition of cooking delicious barbecue started with Joe as a young boy in Mississippi helping his grandfather and American Indian grandmother prepare meats, poultry and fish by rubbing in blends of spices and herbs, then finishing by basting Smokin' Joe's grandparent's secret recipe sauce over the barbecued food. Smokin' Joe recalls," I listened carefully when my grandfather told me how to blend the special ingredients that make this sauce a one-of-a-kind experience. Grandfather used to say," Always use the best. Never short-change your customer's taste buds." To this day I make sure we never settle for second best."

Custom catering

by danielle k. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 176

One of the best catering in town. With their own custom made barbeque sauces, absolutely amazing. They cater to your needs, wherever you need to hold an event, they will be there. The will even help you plan it if need be. Not only do they have a tasty selection of meat, but they have side dishes an desserts to go with it to.

Joe is not Smoking at all!

by jerrys kidds

You know I saw this place opened up in the neighborhood and We went in as I am always looking for great authentic Q. The location has had so may food places sometimes I wonder if there is bad Carma. Anyway, Right off the bat you will notice the huge outside on wheels grills. Man I thought ok, this bro has to have some serious good stuff. He Came from a strip mall in East Lake. Not sure if your aware but most of theses home are owned by the Drug Cartels. I know fist hand ok. Anyway back to the review. We walked in mid morning and could not even smell any signs this placed cook Q!! Not Good!!! I asked the fella behind the counter If I could taste a sample of there sauce. Wow!! very very heavy with liquid smoke, sweet. taste. I ordered a half slab and taking a good look at the meat and I would say this portion was carried over from the day before. I hate when any food place that is barely making enough sales to move there product that they will in select types of product carry it over and mix in the new stuff. Food cost blues. A disappointment to say the least. I',m suprized the joint's still open and I really never see anyone going in.

Pros: Nice competition grills

Cons: sauce is heavy with liquid smoke! Horribly
