La Scala Italian Restaurant
I went there with my boyfriend on one of are first dates. It was a friday or saturday night and very buisy. I had been there one other time with my mother for lunch and enjoyed the food. So I thought it was a good sugestion to go back. First, the waitress took forever to notice us even though we were sitting in front middle of the restraunt. Finally she takes our order. I clearly ask for a glass of red wine, cheese ravioli and a salad with ranch dressing. Then my boyfriend ordered a coke, lasagne and salad with italian dressing. So afterwards we relax and wait for our food while watching the guitarist and singer entertain us. The waitress brings us some tomatoes with mozerella cheese and basil. I thought it was complimentry with our dinner or to apoligize for the long wait. Never did it cross my mind we would be charged for it. So literally 45 minutes later our salads arrive and then our dinner. Don't get me wrong the food was good. Then we recieved the check which amounted to 65.00 not including the tip. I was dumbfounded, how could it be this high? Well they charged us about 12.00 for their lousy tomatoes, cheese and basil appetizer, which was not what we ordered. Then when I mentioned it to the waiter. She simply brought out the owner/manager to come talk to us. She is an older women probably in her late seventies. I tried to explain to her about the bill over loud music and chatter. She used this noise to her advantage to pretend not to understand me. Plus she uses her thick italian accent to also pretend like she doesn't understand english. She tried to point at the check and mubble some words as if she had no idea what I was talking about. At that point my boyfriend was over it and said don't worry about it and payed. It had me fumming! don't be swindled by people, make sure you get what your paying for
