I took a Video class from Moorpark college a few years ago and was so happy with the freedom to "go to class" when I needed. I rented videos through the mail and watched them at my leisure. Then I went on three different Saturdays for an Orientation and two tests. That's it! I really appreciated it, but you have to be motivated to study. FYI - They also offer a full array of other traditional classes.

I've taken German, Astronomy, and several other elective classes at Moorpark College over the past few summers. The teachers are all very knowledgeable and helpful are a wide variety of classes are offered.

Because it's a community college, the tuition at Moorpark is very reasonable. Most likely, you'll end up spending the same amount for books as you do for tuition (unfortunately, textbooks are expensive no matter where you go).

As far as community colleges go, Moorpark has a reputation as being one of the best. I'm not sure how true that is, but my experience with Moorpark College has been satisfactory. I highly recommend it, at least for general interest classes.

Community college is always a good bargain for your money, and Moorpark is no different. In fact, it's a better CC, mostly because of its location--the community is friendly and safe. You won't get much of a college town feeling, but this is mainly a commuter school anyway. Ample parking, decent building and facilities in a stress-free environment.
