4 Stars: Comfort Dental Louisville-Very Pleased! (by Jodi M.)

The office was busy but friendly, clean and affordable. Having not been to a dentist in awhile I feared for the worst. I expected problems with my teeth and was relieved when I was informed of only a few cavities and scaling for my bleeding gums. The doctor informed me of the size and location of the cavities and I was given the choice of white or silver fillings. I was also informed of options to treat my stained and slightly crooked teeth, I opted not to because it was just for "looks". The treatment was done over a couple of visits, seemlessly, almost painlessly and I plan to return for future check-ups. The office was recommended by a friend and I would recommend anyone else!

1 Stars: Comfort Dental Louisville- Beware! (by not p.)

Do NOT GO! Amateur dental assistants. Rushed and harried Dentist. Shady business practices.
Poor skills and service. Stay away. Stay far away.

I had to talk the dentist out of a root canal when a crown was all I needed and they would not clean my teeth until all fillings were completed. I had to sit there for 4 hours while poorly skilled and uncomfoirtable hygienists came in and out. All told, with two fillings, some x rays, a crown (that required 4 visits), I spent at least 10 hours in their office. That is ridiculous. My wife's work is substandard too - she's a former assistant show she knows.

Cheap, yes. Decent, no. Service, poor. Shardy, yes.

1 Stars: Comfort Dental Louisville-FRAUD (by Jenny L.)

I had my teeth extracted by Dr. Spencer which he did a good job . Then I went in for a regular cleaning and it was done by Dr. Miller in less than twenty minutes. I was surprised that it was so quick because it usually take an hour , at lease 30 minutes at other dental office .It was like an assembly line , one doctor take care of several patients at the same time . I was told it will be all covered by the insurance . Couple weeks later , I got the statement from insurance , Dr. Miller submitted the claim as perio scale which cost $651.60 and i was responsible for $186 . I called the dental office and they told me that the fee was waived . But I told them that it should be just regular clean and they need to correct the claim . I have done deep clean before , how you can do deep clean with one sitting , in less than twenty minutes , without anesthesia ? And if Dr. Miller really did the deep cleaning , why he waved the fee I owed ? After several phone calls , I finally got to talk to Dr. Miller . He insisted that it was deep clean and he refused to correct the claim since he already received the money from my insurance company . He offered to redo the clean which I declined . THIS IS INSURANCE FRAUD !

4 Stars: Comfort Dental Louisville - Affordable, Good Care (by Anonymous L.)

A great, affordable, quick & kind place to get dental work. If you are a total baby or diva/divo, maybe you want to spend 4 times more in Boulder and have your ego stroked instead of just having the work done in a competent manner. I don't! We really like both the dentists. The staff doesn't sit around talking to me about stupid stuff, but they are getting their jobs done. We have gone there for about 4 years. It is the only way I can afford dental work for my kids and I. We don't have major problems because WE BRUSH OUR TEETH and TAKE CARE OF THEM. Dentists don't make cavities - improper care does. If you had to have more care, you probably don't take care of your teeth. I am going there today, I am anxious for a lovely experience. If you need a tissue - ASK FOR IT. These comments are crazy. You have to take care of your self and if you need something, ask for it. They are working hard and seeing many people. STOP WHINING!!!

5 Stars: very professional (by Barbara R.)

I have had nothing but wonderful service from this group of dentists, especially Dr Miller. I am not a family member of anyone there and certainly no one has bribed me. My son, who recommended me to this practice, also has received wonderful service and he, too, received no bribe.

1 Stars: What a nightmare! Discomfort Dental!! (by Greg A.)

This place was an assembly line! I have never been treated so badly and with such little dignity. I should have stopped going there right away but I had to get the work finished that they had started. I received several weeks of low quality work being juggled between several of their dentists and assistants with work quality decreasing. The last and worst of the dentists did not give me any options! Even though I told him I wanted white fillings he insisted that silver is recommended and he went ahead and did the silver mercury anyway against my preference. Second the final bill was double what they quoted us. Right in the middle of intense drilling he said in a frustrated voice, "I'm just gonna have to do a root canal OK?" I did not want a root canal but he put me on the spot! My teeth were already drilled into so I reluctantly nodded my head! What was I supposed to do? Then he got a phone call from his wife and he left me there for over 15 minutes with my mouth wide open! Unbelievable! I was there for almost 3 hours! I am currently spending lots of money to redo the work but this time at a real dentist who is repairing all the poor quality work that I received at "Comfort Dental". Comfort Dental have cost me a lot of time, pain, and money!! They should change their name to Discomfort Dental!!

2 Stars: awsome dentistry!!! (by Maria T.)

the doctors @ this office are awesome!!! I went in for some major dental work!! I was in a serious amount of pain & on arrival, I found the staff & doctors to be not only very kind, but also very informative!!! in addition, the doctors were very gentle!! I did see all three doctors...Dr.Duey, Dr. miller, & Dr. spencer because I have a very unusual work schedule. Comfort Dental has very accommodating hours, which is imperative in my line of work!!! The doctors have finally completed all repair that was needed to get my mouth back in tip top shape!! I feel healthy again & my smile looks perfect - that is saying alot considering what I presented to them when I first walked in the door!!! I'm overwhelmed by the true concern that the doctors showed me also. after each procedure, the doctor that treated me on that particular day would call & see how I was feeling & see if I had any questions or concerns!!! WOW... that's all i can say!!! i will be a loyal patient forever more!! Thank you doctors- from the bottom of my heart!

1 Stars: Worst experience ever (by alfred L.)

We moved to Louisville and we pick up this place because it is near our home.

here comes our story.

My wife had done intensive surgery last year for all the things required, crowns, root canals, whatever. We thought this should make her care free at least for the next couples of years, after spending $2k ~ $3k out of pocket.

This year my wife wants to have her wisdom teeth extracted and we visit this place to do a routine checkup. Dr. Miller said she needs 3 other crowns/root canals.

Wow, they really want to make some money!!! We should just extract all the teeth and then replace with artificial, that is way cheaper than crown every tooth one by one.

They did a full-mouth x-ray and kept the films, even though they could not do the surgery. The dentist who could do it needs x-ray film. I have to borrow them from comfort dental. And they will only lend films that they think "necessary" for the surgery, which do not show the wisdom teeth (Darn!!). And we have to do a new x-ray at the new place. As we expected, the surgery dentist said my wife's teeth are in "good shape" and no other treatment is needed at this time.

I want to ask Dr. Miller, which teeth is he going to crown/root canal? But I just do not want to talk to them any more.

4 Stars: My kids had a great experience (by Christy H.)

I had to take all 3 of my girls in at once (ages 6,5,3). The 2 older girls had different techs clean their teeth while the younger one watched. They were friendly and made the girls feel at ease. Even the 3 year old (who doesn't like strangers) allowed them to clean her teeth (although they weren't able to get her x-rays done). I wasn't berated for allowing my daughter to suck her thumb which has been an issue in the past with previous dentists. They didn't find any extra work that needed to be done and the dentist was a dad of 3 who took the time to answer my questions. All in all I experienced nothing that would turn me off to this practice. From the front desk to the back, everything was smooth and timely.

5 Stars: Im forever a patient !!!!!! (by donna b.)

I came to comfort dental to check up on some tooth pain I was having. Come to find out I needed to have 3 Crowns. I was horrified. Like most people I'm not a big fan of the dentist chair. However the staff and Doc was great. The doctor kept me informed about all the work that was taking place. I had no fear and most of all no pain. They were very very nice. when I got home and told my husband what i had spent for the 3 crowns, He said I was lucky. Because he had spent that on one crown. You must see for your self......Even the gals in the front were helpful and I the best thing is the hours. They can accommodate with my strange work schedule. I recommend this office to everyone....

4 Stars: Affordable and Pleasant (by Loren B.)

I have gone to this comfort dental for my dental care for the last year. After getting ripped off by my last dentist, I decided to make the switch to this office. They are friendly and very affordable. The office isnt the brown palace, but it appears to be clean and well maintained. The staff are very upbeat. I was able to get three crowns done here for the same price my previous dentist charged for one!

They seem to be very busy, but I was there in the evening, and it seemed liked I was getting the after work crowd. It was fine by me because I was able to get my dental appointment taken care of without having to miss work. I have read the other reviews on here and I disagree. This is a great office and I will continue to go there, if I need work in the future.

1 Stars: Do NOT go to this place (by Derek S.)

First of all, when my wife scheduled the appointment, she specifically asked for a checkup and cleaning, which the receptionist said would be fine.

So. We went there, went through the typical new patient bureaucracy of filling out forms, insurance paperwork etc, then waited our turn. We were then led back to a small consultation room where we had to wait for our dentist. We waited for a while, then he showed up and introduced himself. He was friendly enough, but he just kept talking and talking and talking, during which we found out that we couldn't get our teeth cleaned during that visit. They would only do a checkup and, if they found cavities, they would insist on doing that work first before doing a cleaning. We didn't like this policy at all -- I've been going to various dentists for over 30 years and have never heard of such a thing. They gave us all kinds of BS justifications, but the reason why was obvious -- they wanted to force us to pay for the more expensive procedure first, and if we didn't like it, well, they would just deny us the cleaning we asked for from the outset.

And BTW because of all this mindless back & forth, we had spent 50 minutes there already and STILL not had anyone actually look at our teeth. It was late in the day, I was tired from work, I wanted to go home and relax. But instead I have to sit here and argue with these guys. (Note that I'm not the argumentative type. I probably have overpaid for a lot of things over the years because of that, but this was just too bogus to allow through my radar.)

It was ridiculous. If they hadn't attracted so much attention to their misdirection in the first place, I would gladly have had my cleaning today and come back for a filling if I needed it.

Anyway, after all that crap they finally put us in our chairs. I wasn't surprised when they found a cavity, but they wanted me to get it filled right then & there. They said it would take 30-40 minutes. As I said, it was late & I was tired, so I wanted to reschedule. They said fine. Then I asked if I could get a cleaning while I was there. Sorry, no, that's too much work, it would take too long, blah blah blah. I later asked one of the assistants how long a cleaning takes. Shes said 30-45 minutes. So I asked why they were so eager for me stay & get my cavity filled but didn't seem to have time for a cleaning. She didn't have a good answer.

I won't bore you with any more details, but suffice it to say this is the most contentious encounter I've ever had with the health care system. The dentist realized pretty quickly that he'd gotten off on the wrong foot with me and kept apologizing. I tried to along with it for a while, but their incredibly stubborn unwillingness to JUST. CLEAN. MY. TEETH! spoiled it.

I don't know if they're any good at dentistry or not. They were too busy trying to do a bait & switch on us for me to find out. I can't believe I wasted over an hour & a half on this.

3 Stars: Nothing Special (by Janine F.)

I went here for an annual checkup and cleaning once and was not no inspired that I feel like I ever want to go back. (I have lots of providers to choose from with my insurance.) They did the usual battery of mouth x-rays and then a cleaning. The dentist was quite friendly, but not in a really meaningful way - if that makes sense. Curteous for the sake of courtesy. I felt like they knew what they were doing, but it's not "world class" by any means.
