We were planning for an outing; the first thing came in my mind was to go for a movie. My kids wanted me to take them at Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I thought it would be boring.
I was wrong, our entire family enjoyed the trip.

the museum is fun for both adults and kids. The exhibits are of multiple themes and all interesting. there are well chairs to barrow. you must leave you ID but they do not cost anything. The hall of Life was just completely redone, and the dinosaur exhibits was also redone a few years ago. there is always a special exhibit that is touring the around in the museum. as well as a discovery zone were kids can do hands on activities. there are also a lot of animals that you can see displayed with there habitats you can also get a list of gnomes that are hidden through out the exhibits.

Maybe I expect to much from things like the Museum and Zoo, but there food is terrible....hardly edible. And the price you pay for the food that you get is just crazy. But aside from the food, the Museum is great. From the giant TREX at the inside of the entrance of the musem to the fun hands on activities they offer for all ages. There is so much to see it is often impossible to see EVERYTHING at one time. More so if you have younger children. There are 3 levels to this Museum and every level is stuffed full of things to see, plus there is a planitarium and an IMAX theatre to visit as well.

Our family is always excited to visit the DMNS. The displays are informative and educational. Many of the displays offer hands on options which the children love. We also like the fact that the displays are updated often so it's a new experience each time we visit. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Without the family pass a trip the Muesum is quite expensive but you can easily spend a good part of the day there. The parking lot can be very hectic on the weekends.

The attached IMAX is lots of fun but is an addition to the museum price.

PROS: Hands On Displays with Lots of Variety
CONS: Kind of Expensive

My family always stops by at this museum. They have interesting things and I highly recommend the Imax. I loved their new planetarium movie Sonic Vision. It was creative and different.

The Denver Museum of History and Science is a great place to take the family. It's exhibits are always fascinating, and they have a lot of great video presentations to watch. There is a cafe, a gift-shop, as well as a veritable mine of knowledge and facts. Being a parent, I am always looking for great places to take my kids that are both fun and educational. The Denver Museum of History and Science is definetly the place to find both!
It can be a bit pricey for non-memebers, however. Non-member tickets cost $15.00 per adult, and $6.00 per child (ages 3-18). They do have some good membership prices, but these are only useful to those who live close enough to the museum to visit enough times to make it worth the cost. Family memberships cost $75.00 for two adults and their children/grandchildren (ages 3-18) for one year. There are other membership options as well.
There is also a great IMAX theater and planetarium on the Museum grounds. These attractions require a seperate purchase, however the memberships offer discounts on these tickets.
All in all, the Denver Museum of History and Science is a great place for both young and old to gather for fun as well as education.

PROS: Great exhibits, very informational and educational, very fun for families
CONS: A little expensive for non-members.

I took a trip down the Nile at the Imax theater here, got a health evaluation at one exhibit and saw dinosaurs throughout. An example of just about every animal from every region of the world is on display here. Your kids are going to love the interactive space center too. I haven't tried the planetarium yet, but if it's anything like the rest of the facility, it's spectacular. It costs a little more than a trip to the zoo, but it's still worth it.

Our entire family enjoyed the trip. From the Imax to the displays, we (ages range from 2-32) had a ball. Kids loved it and the price was right! Will go again.

This is the best museum in Denver. It's great for both kids and adults. Make sure to check out the Hall of Life. The omni-theatre is a little small, though.
