"Boulder resident Opas Sinprasong, 51, who operates restaurants in Boulder, Louisville and Broomfield, brought Thai nationals to the United States between 2001 and 2008 and imposed an onerous two-year employment contract on them, according to the federal grand jury indictment.

Under the contract, the employees had to pay a 'bond' of 50,000 Thai baht (approximately $1,500), which amounted to a substantial amount of money to the Thai employees, said the indictment.

He also allegedly told the employees they were liable for a penalty of 600,000 Thai baht (approximately $18,000) if the employee violated the terms of the contract or caused damage to Sinprasong. Employees were also required to obtain a personal guarantor in Thailand, who entered the contract with Sinprasong making the guarantor liable for the penalty in case of any violations by the employee." Denver Post, Feb. 12 2010

I've eaten here a few times, and honestly, I don't remember anyone helping me other than white people who looked like they might be students at CU. I've always liked the food, especially the brown rice option, and the service has been good--the cashier even gave me an extra mark on my frequent eater card at one point just to be nice.

I'm not fond of people taking advantage of others, though.

Pros: Good food, Friendly staff

Cons: Fraudulent business practices

I have been here (the Broomfield location) twice. Both times we went for lunch but only the first time did we get the sooper-cool lunch special which included the crab rangoon and soup. The second time we ordered them all sepparately then realized there was a lunch special; we could have gotten it all for much less and the guy didn't even bother to mention it :( The first time the gentleman helping us made lots of effort to make our little one happy but the second time little effort was made.

Both times the food was excellent however!
