horrible rates - they basically did false advertising and them stuck me with a $150 bill for a 2 minute service....i checked around with local companies and found out that normally this kind of work is $50. also, took them 45 minutes instead of 15 (although the guy told me it would take about 20 minutes). didn't give me a quote ahead of time.

A safe and friendly environment for your pet. Dogs have large, secure runs, can go inside or out whenever they need, and love returning to Pup Stop for another vacation. They offer flexible hours, great rates and are close to DIA.

I was intrigued by the location near the airport, it seemed very convenient. But when I went to pick up Maggie after four days, she was wheezing and wimpering - two things she never, ever does. She had a strange energy. I thought perhaps she had caught kennel cough - which I suspect is possible at Pup Stop, but she had gotten her shots just a few days before Pup Stop. Once we got home and she drank water and realized that she was no longer in that awful place, she was fine. SHE HAD BECOME DEHYDRATED staying at Pup Stop! How hard is it to leave out enough water for dogs? AWFUL place. I'm leaving this review here but will also be reporting them to the ASPCA. If anyone else has similar bad experiences, I suggest you do the same.

Pros: proximity to airport

Cons: clearly neglect dogs in various ways

I am recent Chicago transplant to the Denver area. In Chicago, I ran 2 do it yourself dog washes and do the same here. I adore my dog and all dogs! When I found out that Denver has no regulations about someone being on the premise of a day care/boarding facility- I was shocked! When I saw the news reports about the day care that had burned down- and all the animals perished, I was horrified.I actually boarded her at one of the PetsMart Hotel one time when we first moved here. I booked the suite- which boasts, "Upgrade your best friend to a suite furnished with a Poochy Cot, hypoallergenic lambskin blanket and a TV tuned to pet themed shows. Meals and daily walks are included with the stay." The bed wouldn't fit a dog over 30lbs (something they neglect to tell you when booking) The TV was hung so high in the room there was no way my dog would have been able to see it- and with all the noise- there was NO way she could have heard it either! The daily walks were not included at the location I went to- they were an additional charge. When I asked about where my dog would use the potty- they pointed to an indoor caged area that had too many dogs in it running around and though all the dogs feces and urine. It was too much for the attendants to handle and it was disgusting. I didn't teach my dog to hold it indoors for her to feel conflicted when being boarded.. also I don't like the idea that my dog could run through another feces and urine. Disgusting!! And because of the business I am in- this is the standard I have seen for the Denver boarding facilities. They are smelly. The staff is inadequate and unique attention isn't paid to your dog at all. What I really liked about the Pup Stop was that my dog would be outdoors WITH a heated shelter. She didn't have to be in some stinky facility nor did she come home smelling of urine and slobber! Ed lives on the premise- THAT in itself is invaluable. If anything happens- he's there to handle the situation. No doggie monitors for you to monitor your dogs from where ever you are- Ed monitors the dogs. My girl is really shy and Ed spent time with her in her kennel attempting to befriend her!! Although it's taken her a few visits- I think she has warmed up a little.I also know of Ed's care for unwanted animals. To try to even assume or accuse him of neglecting any dog is done totally without basis and is just an naive assumption of someone who never took the time to know what The Pup Stop is all about. As for the dogs have diarrhea or being tired- well, PetSmart does explain on their web site that these are 2 of the MOST common things that you will see when picking your dog up from ANY facility. You're dog stresses when you aren't there- any sort of boarding isn't normal to them. They might not eat- they might not drink and they might not sleep well in unusual circumstances. To blame any facility for your dogs reaction to YOU being away is somehow failing to recognize that you are at all responsible... again naive. They are super stressed without us- that is just a fact. No one is going to replace you in your dogs eyes- the quicker you realize that, the better! The Pup Stop has always been gracious with our last minute needs and have been nothing but accommodating to my schedule. The price is beyond reasonable. The quality of care is top notch. In fact, there is even a trainer on staff. Talk about a place that KNOWS what they're doing and what they're handling! I have nothing but respect for the place and nothing but kind things to say about the experience. My girl gives it 2 Paws UP!!

Hi. My name is Mickey and I am founder of Colorado Canine: www.coloradcocanine.org.I am writing this to formerly thank Pup Stop for their unwavering support of Colorado Canine and other Rescue Organizations In the past and ongoing the Pup stop staff has temporarily housed many of our animals when they had no place left to go. Ed offered us very generous discounts that barely covered food and staff . Many of the dogs they took were slated for euthanasia and now, because of this interim housing have been granted the time to make their way into loving homes. Ed himself has rescued many dogs abandoned at his facility and without payment for services given. Instead of calling animal control they took the time to find quality homes for dogs whose fate was no fault of their own. And as if these kind gestures were not enough I have never heard anyone at Pup Stop ask for a pat on the back for their efforts nor a complaint made about any dog that we have brought to their facility and some of our dogs arrive a bit beside themselves.I know that Pup Stop may not be fancy like the newer pet motels but believe me the dogs whose lives were saved by the generosity of this facility are more then grateful for the accommodationsBottom line, some of our dogs have not done well at Pup Stop however that was due to their personality. Some dogs just stress in a boarding environment You should see what a shelter does to them.At Pup Stop some lost weight some gained, some remained cheerful, some became sullen but in the end all found their forever homes. Every dog deals different in their environment. If I might speak for all the dogs that have gone onto a new life because of Pup Stop."from the bottom or our still beating hearts we applaud you"

I have used this kennel several times and they treat all the dogs great and my dog seems happy when I drop him off and pick him up. The kennels are large and I dare you to find one more affordable. As for all the ridiculous complaints I have read, any idiot knows that ANY pet stresses out a bit when they are away from their regular home and routine. Dog owners are a riot, they act as if they can tell what their dog experiences while they are away. My advice is to get back to reality, to get a grip and next time go pick one of those $50 a night places that promises to "care" for your dog. If you "care" so much, check your dog into the friggin Hilton and quit complaining and slandering this kennel. The complaints I have read on this site are a riot, obviously from people without real lives. God help you idiots. I will always use this kennel beacuse the runs are big, the dogs are cared for and they are well priced.

I'm surprised by the other reviews. My dogs were fine! I have an akita and 2 beagles and they were all perfectly cared for during their stay. The prices were reasonable and the staff very helpful. I will be using them again and would recommend this kennel!

We here at The Pup Stop strive to satisfy all customers, but without feedback it is impossible to know a customers concerns. Our kennel atmosphere is a very safe and comfortable one for most dogs. The ability for a dog to go inside or outside to his 20ft run at any time is one of those features which makes this a pleasant environment. It may be due to this particular customers insistance that we lock her dog inside at night which elevated his stress level.
Our indoor kennels, 4ft x 4ft, are kept at a very comfortable temperature in all weather - we never claim to be heating the outdoor chainlink run. We utilize radiant floor heating, embedded in concrete floors, and we invite customers to inspect them. Had this customer done so, she would have seen her dog??s fresh water which is, of course, available to all dogs at all times. It is a very serious issue to accuse a kennel of withholding drinking water based on one??s dog??s potty habits. Nor would we, or any kennel, withhold food from a dog. There is no plausible reason for so doing. Most dogs sleep less and exercise more when staying in a kennel. Many dogs also experience a degree of stress and some loss of appetite. While stress is not desireable, most pet owners realize that sleeping for 1 or 2 days after a kennel stay indicates an active and positive stay at a kennel. Lethargy indicates illness, and if this customers dog had been ill after his stay, I??m certain we all would have heard about it. Finally, to make accusations about us striking a dog is outrageous. This dog was very friendly to us at the kennel; but apparently cowers to his owner. We need to ask from where this stress originates.

I took my dog and cat to the Pup Stop February 16-20, My husband and I went to Las Vegas for NBA All Star game. When I picked my dog an American Bull Dog who normally has bounds of energy he was so tired he went to sleep during the short10 minute drive home. When I got him home he would not eat and then I noticed that you could see his ribs, he had diarrhea for 6 days. This is the 2nd time he has had diarrhea when I picked him up he was there this last summer,I just thought the food they fed him didn't agree with him so this time I took a small bag of his food with him and strange as it is, it was almost empty when they gave it back to me ? I do not recommend this place to any pet owner and will never take my animals there again.

I took my dog to the Pup stop reluctantly over the holidays. I didn't like the look of the place from the moment I pulled up. They told me that the kennels (which are all outside) were heated, but I am not sure how warm metal and concrete can be in 10 degree weather. The dogs are given a kennel about 3X3 feet and a 10 foot fenced in dog run. I left my dog with feeding instructions and asked them to shut the door of the kennel everynight due to very cold temperatures. They insured me that they would. When I picked up my dog 9 days later it was like they were giving me a different animal. He was very lathargic, had lost a ton of weight ( you could see his spine through his back), didn't use the bathroom for 12 hours (because I don't think they gave him water), stopped eating unless coaxed, and cowered when called like he had been struck. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If they are not going to properly take care of animals they shouldn't be in business.
