Admission is really cheap, and it's worth it to go here at least once. If what's happening in the cathedral isn't your style, you're sure to find your thing on another level. Really talented DJ's here.

For any one that wants to check out the church and see all it offers but doesn't want to pay out the nose just to look, when you go the the door ask them about the down stairs price. It's only $5 if you say your going down stairs but you

Now this is a Night Club!! It puts the clubs to shame down in El Paso, Texas to shame.
Staff is friendly and reminds you of Cheers, where they know your name and know what your poision is.

The best things about the Church Nightclub: The venue itself, Though a lesser copy of Limelite in New York, this is stilla great big club with a strong sound sytem and good lighting system. The multi rooms full of different music is a definite plus. I also like that they moved the main dancefloor's DJ booth from way up high where you couldn't see anything, to the dancefloor level itself. The Con to that, When I went to see Diplo perform, people nearly tore his laptop down and both his laptop and his phone kept moving around because of the Bass.

The booth is better where it is but needs some improvements. One it needs a bar or a glass barrier to keep dumb asses away from the DJ and the equipment and two it needs an edge/lip around the entire shelf on both sides to keep the DJs drinks, phone and anything else they put on it from falling down due to the bass rumble.

The main floor DJs are usually major acts brought in from around the world and generally do a good job. Diplo was dope, except for his ultra weak Chiga Chiga scratch, shouldn't a big name DJ like that learn at least a few things about scratching? But I digress, cause his music was dope and he rocked the crowd far outweighing his shortcomings with the technical aspects of turntablism.

The Church would be my favorite spot if it wasn't for the ultra lame DJs that were bumbling their way through songs and pre fabricated mashups downstairs in the main downstairs room. I'm not sure who these two were on the CDJ's but they were a sorry lot that in my opinion should not be Deejaying anywhere other than house parties. and maybe not even that. The only thing that saved these two clowns was the fact that the downstairs was filled with mostly teenagers that perhaps still didn't have enough experience watching better DJs to realize just how badly these two DJs sucked, and the room also had some break dancers and pretty girls to distract people from this fact as well.

The other room downstairs had a set of skilled DJs to make up for the lack of skills in the other room.
Of course this was on one particular night so don't judge the club by this One comment.

What eats me up about the church is their intolerance of high quality cameras. I mean if I spent extra money to pick up a high quality digital SLR camera and I'm bringing it with me to the club does that not indicate that I fist of all have money, second of all might be in an industry that would like to help publicize your club, perhaps a magazine, a blog, a website etc... lets face it others can bring in their smaller cameras, which these days are capable of taking pictures almost as detailed as those of my own camera only with a lesser battery capacity and a slower picture taking rate.

I was there one night check out DJ Jazzy Jeff, but they wouldn't let me in with the camera so rather than pay the hefty $25 that night decided to go to another spot. I was disapointed to not see Jazzy that night but rather see him another time in another city if need be, if I am not going to get pictures I need from the event.

I'm there to publicize their club and write about their night and they are giving me a hard time at the door about bringing in my camera. Not smart, not smart at all. I can understand wanting to control what pictures are posted of your club, so every picture looks like a packed event etc... But you can't control it all, too many camera phones, mini cameras etc... So you might as well let the people that are going to take good pictures and post them online into the club. Any free publicity you can get should be welcomed.

In any case overall the Church is a great club, but they need to re-evaluate some of their weaker DJs and find better resident DJs. The DJs downstairs in the windowed section of the downstairs main room just were not very entertaining, could barely mix and did not posses even One ounce of creativity. Do some research and find better DJs.

Pros: Great Venue, Several Areas, Good Sound and Lights

Cons: Weak Hip Hop DJs in the basement, Door Staff can be rude

.

I was there a few weeks ago on vacation visiting my girlfriend. Im from Jersey and have been living in NY for sometime, and have been in the scene for about 5 years, including being a street teamer of NYCs Revolver, as well as having been a patron of NYC's best weekly industrial party, Asylum Guild, since its beginning. Being friends of the guys who started AG and Revolver, and learning to DJ myself, Ive learned a thing or two.

The venue itself is truly impressive, spacious dance floors and nice smoking lounge, but I can see and heard how sound can get muddled due to its size. The bars were certainly pleasing, drinks cheap early in the night, in addition to getting in free before 10, is definately a plus. Quality is also good, its the only club Ive frequented where I can get Patron tequila, the size shot I was given was definately impressive as well.

The only negative I found was the music itself. The djs are quite skilled but what they were playing, for the most part, wasnt that great. A good number of "H I T" songs, stuff that Ive come to not enjoy so much due to hearing it WAY overplayed in other clubs back here. Its a nice place to go, but really cant hold up to my experiences here on the East Coast, maye when I move there permanently I'll be able to inject some NYC flavor into the scene out there.

it was a great haven at one time for under agers to go party like rock stars. but now we get nothing not even an explanation as to why we cant go there anymore. the only upside to the Sunday night goth night is the two bartenders Stephanie and Doug. i hope one day the owners realize we under agers were taking over that night and were giving them the most money for entrance fee's and drinks. the music used to be really cool but has not been as cool recently this past year its been more slow songs and stuff and not a mix of dancy songs with slow songs.

How cool is it to party in a church!?!?! Sounds like such a great concept, but honestly, it's so BIG inside that even when filled with a decent crowd, the club winds up feeling rather empty. Music was ok, not the greatest. Barteners are attentive though, so that's a plus. And the wait is not too long (which is especially important during Denver winters!) Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit..but I probably wont be a regular.

Pros: You get to say you clubbed at a church!

Cons: not as exciting as it sounds...

This is where the people who know how to dance, dance. Friday night the main floor plays pumping dance music. The main dance floor is nice and long and hard wood. You get an incredible view of the main dance floor from the balcony. The architecture of being inside a church, the big dance floor, and the lighting on the dance floor. Now whats also cool about this club is the Great Outdoors. You can go on the roof.

A church fitted for a night out. Well done. The decor is wonderful and they do try to accommodate all desires. The basement club needs work but has a great Industrial/EBM night. Lines to the bar are long. The place is expensive so know to expect that.

The club itself is amazing. Who wouldn't love to drink and dance inside a church? The only thing I hate is when you go to see a DJ you really like, but you can't actually see anything. I think the DJ booth should be lowered. I prefer Vinyl for big name DJ's because you can actually see the DJ and see him spin.

The club is pretty nice. It features techno music and hiphop. The downstairs/basement, where the hiphop is, is a bit crowded and gets pretty hot, though what club isnt' like that. The rooftop is wonderful though. Nice place to cool down and get a breath of fresh air.

Loud house/transe music and a gothic/holy setting make for a fun night here. There's a decent sushi bar as well. This joint gets mighty crowded, but head out to the rooftop bar and you can cool off and catch some fresh air. Like any good church, this is the place to be on Sunday.

The Church is the most thrilling dance club that I have ever been to! It attracts all sorts of interesting people, making each time there a unique and interesting experience. The three separate dance rooms also help with this. Meeting singles is easy and fun, but it's also a great place to go and simply dance your pants off! I must say that even though I can only go to The Church on Thursdays as of now, it is well worth the $15 cover charge for being under 21. I definitely recommend it for underagers who want to actually have fun in church!

Probably the best long-lasting club in Denver. On many nights, its a lame crowd, but anytime there is a popular DJ spinning, it is the best crowd you could hope for. Great, base-pounding sound system with large dance floor. Usually had wonderful hard house and progressive trance to elevate your bpdy and mind.

The church is the hottest spot to be at in denver. It has a little for everybody. The best in house/trance upstairs and now hip-hop down stairs. A sushi bar and a cigar lounge to add a little relaxation before hittin' the dance floor. I've taken people there before who didn't like techno at all, and now they want to be there every weekend. All I can say is that's one church I'll definitely be faithful to!!

The architecture alone is a great reason to bring a newcomer to the Church. It's a beautiful place. The music is great to dance to, and they have different kinds of music in 3 different rooms on the weekends. If you like variety, the Church is one of the places to go for that. The crowd is always fun, chic, funky & friendly. If you need a little privacy, they have some secluded seating available also. If you're visiting Denver, you're new to the city or have never been to the Church, it's worth the trip.

I've been going to The Church on a somewhat regular basis, at least 2-3 times a month, for a few years now and I gotta say that this is definitely one helluva club! About the only downfall I have of the place is the drink prices. But I guess it could be worse from what I hear about clubs in NYC and L.A. Other than that, The Church is high on my list for best dance clubs in the country!

The crowd is bubbling with energy. You will see the most amazing dancers in Denver. Of course, the dancers are motivated by the great DJ's that feed the dancers their fuel in the main dance floor.

During the summer, the patio is open. You can see a good portion of the city of Denver from the patio. It is a great place to cool off, and to talk to the beautiful person you've been dancing with.

One level down, there is live bands that play. This is a great way to change your pace from the highly competitive dancing on the main level.

There is also a gothic dance section. Truly, The Church accommodates all who come to it. Kind of what a Church is supposed to do!

I abandoned the Church in favor of Alley Cats, but returned a couple of weeks ago to be reminded that this really deserves the label: Denvers best. A bit of money spent on the bars decormaybe even a VIP sectionand certainly tightening up the door policy could transform this from Denver-class to world class.

The atmosphere is the coolest part of this club. When you first walk in you feel like you're going to hell, but you soon learn to appreciate its uniqueness. My friends and I drive down almost every thursday night for the 18+ night from Ft. Collins. Sometimes this club can be a little too trendy or whatever you wanna call it but it's usually worth the $15 cover ($10 if you're 21)! My only complaint is the lighting system. It could be a really cool place with some strobes and more advanced lighting.

Don't really understand people who say the following things about the church:

"the church was cool two years ago, not now"
uhhh..the church was snobby two years ago, more diverse now.

"going down hill"
not at all. not only are they bringing in some great dj's (I saw SASHA ;> last thursday; great crowd, great vibe, music sounded wonderful), but everytime I go there the place is packed.

"kids"
Being 22, gotta say that sometimes I perfere going on 18 and over nights - less sloppy drunks, more people dancing.

"crappy"
dude, this place has three dance floors, a classy cigar room, a sushi bar, two patios, a balcony over looking the main floor, coutches, and awsome stained glass. those that have a "crappy" time at this place might want to check their "crappy" attitudes.

Cons: Not enough bars, Drunk daring men

.

I used to consider Church the best club in Denver, but nowdays it has the worst crowd (kids, no dress code.) It doesn't get packed (if ever) util 11pm. The only good thing about is that it's huge and it has few different rooms.

It's a really cool club... but the staff could be a little more friendly. The thursday 18/21+ ID check could be a little better planned. Cover a bit high.

Cons: Only one bathroom, Staff, Prices

my opinion has changed since i started going there in 2 months time. i think 10 bucks cover is rip-off. drinks cost way too much. place is not even packed until 11pm at earliest if at all. i will find another hangout because they lost power one night when i had just arived and didnt offer refund even though i was there only 20 minutes and transferred use to that sweaty, damp, repulsive and way too packed to breathe vinyl. the church is going straight to hell.

Pros: usual crowd, rooftop, some bartenders

Cons: some bartenders, drink prices, cover charge

The Church may not be the Club du jour, but it still has the best sound system and variety of music in Denver. I mean, come on, you are in a CHURCH, it still has all the stain glass - it is beautiful - the sound system is pumpin' and it is a great place to people watch or find a new playmate.

Pros: great sound system, good music, strong drinks

Cons: need more cute guys, gets REALLY cowded, can get really hot

I think that overall the Church is a great club for dancing and meeting people.

I love the decor, the music is great, with lots of different rooms, catering to different tastes. The crowd is good-looking, but lots of fun!!

The church is probably The best dance/nite club I've been to in denver ( and I've been to all the crap in lodo etc). Great music, lots of diversity. Average drink prices ~$5 for a guiness. Tons of rooms to cruise. AND NO Cover before ten, that was sweet; spend the extra cash on booze.

NOW for the downside, the big parking lot run by CARPARK<---SUCKS, pay for the parking and the ticket you anyway. A word to the wise get their early and park on the street or use the valet.
