.

I'm a fan and a client for life! I used to go to a well known salon on Old South Gaylord in Denver, that is until the colorist put BLACK low-lights in my naturally light blond hair! I wanted a rich brown color like the ones my former stylist (who moved to Florida) used to do, but the colorist on OSG just couldn't get it right (I'd been to her once before so she had some familiarity with my hair and told me she thought my color had come out lighter than expected the first go around). I can live with a mistake so long as it is acknowledged and FIXED, but this woman refused to admit the low-lights came out way too dark. It was clear she wanted to leave with her friend who had come in at the end of my appointment (he liked my "black" streaks - his words). I told her I'd live with it a few days and see, paid her (and tipped her my usual 20% though I did not want to). (I thought about letting the OSG colorist try and fix it, but I had no confidence in her because she couldn't admit to me that the color was just all wrong. Honey - I know you didn't USE black but sadly that's the color that came out). So I went home, blew off gong to a party and spent a couple of hours "Googling" solutions and washing my hair repeatedly with Ajax dishwashing liquid (found this remedy on the internet). I also found the name of a few Denver salons supposedly open Sundays and HairColorXperts of Park Meadows was the only one to respond to my "911 call" (I was leaving town on Monday afternoon for work and could NOT GO looking like Cruella DeVille!!!). They got me in Sunday morning and Laura Andersen spent 4 hours painstakingly correcting my color, black chunk by black chunk. I had to sign a waiver because no one could predict how it would come out and the whole staff collaborated on the solution. I was really scared but anything was better than those big, black chunks. It came out far better than I could have ever imagined. And not just OK but great! It took a few more visits to fully correct the problem and get all the red/gold tones out, but Laura is amazing with color - and her scissors - and I'll be a customer for life! Thanks ladies!
