Not only is this one of the best sushi joints in town, it's also very well priced. Service is always great (not sure what others are experiencing, I've never had so much as a glass of water go empty) and all staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Basho has a good variety of traditional and Americanized rolls. Their Yellow and Yummy rolls are some of the best I've had (and I've had a lot!). Also love their hamachi as the yellowtail is always very pink and fresh.

Overall, I'd say this is my favorite place to eat in town. Now, I do love the well known establishments like Sushi Den, but why bother waiting an hour for a table on a Friday night 25 minutes away when I can head 10 minutes from my house for comparable cuisine (and get in right away)? And this place far surpasses any chain sushi or strip mall sushi place I've been.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great sushi for a good price in a casual place.

We went in on Saturday night at 9:20.

They close at 10.

We looked at a menu, and the "Waitress" interrupted us by shouting "IT'S 9:40!!!!!!!! YOU TAKE TO GO????????"

Sorry, lady, but that's when I drop the menus and walk out, never to return.

First: It's NOT 9:40. It's 9:20. You have 40 minutes to make us 2 damn sushi rolls and you're too damn lazy to bother.

Second: YOU ARE OPEN UNTIL TEN. That means I can come in at 9:59 and you'd better serve me.

Otherwise, I'll tell everyone I can to stay away.

So: Stay Away!

Sushi Basho has a spectacular lunch menu. The location is right off of Old Littleton Blvd. and Santa Fe.

Let me say, I've been going here for years, even used to work here. However, at the beginning of 2009 new owners took over & it's gone down hill from there. The new owners/wait staff give extremely poor service, & try to rip us off every time we dine there! They don't take your drink order for at least 10 minutes, when they are not even busy. And they visit the table maybe twice during your visit, to take your order & bring you the check. They also don't bring all the sushi we order, thinking we may forget that we ordered it, but get charged anyway. It use to be an awesome restaurant, but not any more:(

We LOVE Sushi Basho. We make it a point to go there at least once a month. They have $1 sushi pieces all the time, thier fish is fresh, the staff is friendly and the service is fast. Honeslty I have never ordered off of the entree' menu as I only go there for the sushi but I have also never wanted to eat anything but the sushi. They have a huge variety of special rolls and we have yet to eat something we didn't like.

My boyfriend and I had lunch here and we were both disappointed. This place is owned and operated by Chinese folks and I'm sure they do the best they can, but the food is simply not authenic. I ordered Katsu Don, a little comfort food I used to eat in Japan, but was told that they couldn't serve the dish for some reason. The Chinese manager said I could get Cashew Chicken instead. Well, if I wanted to have Chinese food, I would have gone to a Chinese eatery... So I had Teriyaki Salmon and he had Yakitori. My piece of salmon must have come from an anorexic salmon. And the owners must have never eaten real Yakitori before, because it was simply not even close. I recommend Basho, if you are looking for Chinese version of Japanese food, but if you are looking for authentic Japanese food, Basho is NOT the place you want to be.

What a horrible dining experience. $1 sushi is not accurate, and be careful because the waitstaff will gouge prices if you're not careful. Oh, and there's no manager ever present if there is a concern. Don't waste your time. There are too many other great deals out there to mess around with this manipulative and conniving place.

Sushi Basho has really good sushi! It is always fresh and tastes great. My favorite roll is definately the spider roll. The sushi is offered at a good price also.

My family and I discovered Sushi Basho by accident-it was good fortune! The sushi was fresh, the service was awesome, and I highly recommend going for a meal. The sushi chefs create big, wonderful pieces and our waitress was knowledgeable about the different types they served and the owners and managers cared deeply about us having a great experience. We plan on visiting 3-4 times/month as compared to other sushi restaurants this one is simply fabulous.

We asked the owner/manager for his recommendation on the best sashimi tuna, and he said "Toro - 2 pieces for $6". Bill comes and it's now turned into $8.95. When we remind him he told us $6, he says oh no... that was for something else. So we, to avoid a scene say fine, run the bill ... but even the waitress says "oh, I believe you". All he had to do for proof was look at the original sushi/sashimi order sheet, as it was in his OWN WRITING. This isn't about the extra 2 bucks or so...it's the principle and how you run your busienss. Apparently he has a repuation for being obnoxious based on the waitress's reply. Lost our business, and the business of every friend we know in the Littleton and Highlands Ranch area.

Pros: None at this time, waitress was nice

Cons: offensive owner/manager

I like their rolls a lot. Can be on the small side for portioning especially for the price, but they taste good. Staff is pretty nice. If you are craving sushi or other Japanese food give them a try.

Littleton should have a reputation for terrific ethnic food if it does not by now. Sushi Basho is yet another addition (Granted this addition is now years old) to a slowly and strongly growing group of really excellent ethnic restaurants - also including Wild Ginger, Damascus Grill, Master Chef, and now Sushi Basho). The atmosphere feels like a strip mall, though the restaurant itself is located at Bowles and Sante Fe. The location makes it super accessible, and the staff is hyper-friendly. Most of the sushi menu is $1/piece which is an amazing deal anywhere, especially in Denver where the food prices have steadily risen in the past few years. The Sushi is non pareil in its freshness, I will put it up against Sushi Den in freshness, especially the fast moving fish like Salmon and Tuna. The Tuna can be ambiguous as far as where in the fish you are getting it from. Sometimes you will get deep red fish with beautiful marbling which comes from the lower part of the fish near it's stomach, and then other times you will get pinkish tuna which is really the throw away stuff at most restaurants. It's delicious though, and where else can you gorge yourself for $30? Highly recommended.

Sushi Basho is awesome! From the outside, it's really nothing special and thousands of people drive by daily and probably never notice it. We ate there once for the heck of it and were greatly surprised. The staff are all welcoming and friendly but...the sushi...WOW...so yummy! We always start with the Tuna Poke appetizer. It's exquisitely fresh and superior grade. The rolls are expertly rolled, not so big that you can't eat in one bite. Our favorites are "Crazy Roll", and anything on the specials board is always good. I even love the hot green tea! We are always amazed at how good it is, and yes, we also eat at Sushi Den, Sushi Tazo, Japon etc. We spend more at those places and "Basho" is our new fave. Try it!

This restaurant is on my way home from work and when I am wanting sushi and/or Japanese food this is a MUST STOP for me! happy hour sake(2 for 1)-while i am waiting for my dinner to be prepared. Sushi is straight forward and very, very fresh. Miso soup hits the spot-on those Miso Soup kind of days. Tempura is passable. I have not had any of the Japanese Entrees, as I am usually jonesing for Sushi. The staff could not be any friendlier, the restaurant is child friendly for those developed pallates. I believe that they offer a 'sushi happy hour' for those dining in. This feels like a great neighborhood restaurant-no pretensions, just trying to do their very best. They do remember their returning customers, which is HUGE. At times there are some creative sushi entries on the board and the staff is more than willing to explain. Hawaiian Poke shows up quite often as well!
