Even though Sterling High School has small class sizes and is relatively "safe" by today's standards, we still find it lacking. The building itself is run down and in desperate need of repairs, including a leaky roof that makes navigation next to impossible for students after some rain or snow.
The school does have some dedicated teachers, but it lacks good leadership. There is quite a bit of emphasis on browbeating students rather than inspiring them to succeed. They do not have a cohesive curriculum and they dont share a common achievement requirement. Their sports programs are another area that is lackluster at best. This year alone the junior varsity alone bailed out on over half of it's games. This is not only unfair to the students who practiced every day for three months, but it could also prevent scholarship ability. Again, the leadership just isn't there.

PROS: small class sizes
CONS: lack of leadership, poor environment
