I went here for my father's 65th birthday recently. We really enjoyed it. The food was great as was the service. I don't get the whole dipping sauce thing, but it did not detract from the fun. I will return again.

Droped in recently - food was good but not great (especially for what you're going to spend).\r

Bartenders were lame, service was ok. The awesome vibe is gone - maybe just a sign of the crummy

Delicious! I love the roasted garlic. The sauces were very interesting and delicious with everything we dipped into them. I would go back and dine there again and again.

This is the best restaurant that I have been to in town. The food is just excellent and very tasty just a little overpriced, wait staff are quite friendly and the atmosphere is great.

First of all, the place was cold. The service was okay. I was really surprised that they had a list of 20+ sauces but no one mentioned anything to us about picking sauces. However, I don't know how they could have been enjoyed. Our

Since we came back to Colorado 5 years ago,we rediscovered The Fresh Seafood Co. and have been good customers ever since.
The food is outstanding and the personnel is so nice and friendly, you feel like you are at home! The Sunday brunch is unique and very popular. And when they have your e-mail address, they let you know all the specials they can offer and believe me ,that is wonderful.
We enjoy going there more than to any other place and are very happy to have learned about them.

Went to Vesta Dipping grill last night for a birthday. Party of five. Arrived at 5 because it was the only time available on this Saturday. Ordered all 5 of the "special" $2.00 appetizers to see what we may want to continue with. They came: 1- beef satay, 1 -shrimp, 1- 1" square pork belly, 2 chorizo balls the size of a large gumball and 3 tater tots with a creamy cheese filling. Food cost, maybe 10%. All were good but uninspiring. Ordered 2 nice bottles of wine, Freemark Abbey 2006 merlot over the course of the dinner. They were very nice at at price of $46.00 each.
Ordered beet salads for $10.00 each(they were very good), organic greens salad for $7.00 and another chips and dips sampler for $7.00 both of which I felt were unispiring. Food cost: maybe 10%. Then ordered chicken (leg and thigh) @ $23.00(good), 2 tunas at $26.00(good), smoked duck breast (excellent)for $28.00 and their special korean bbq buffalo at $32.00 (very good). Each came with small plate portions of burned (I guess they were suppposed to be carmelized) vegetables. Food cost maybe 15%. With the salads mentioned earlier priced in, each plate was from $30.00 t0 $42.00. Then the finale: we were brought a "2 bite" piece of chocalate moose cake (excellent) with a candle for the birthday boy. Nice touch I thought. After Macallan 18 year for $18 and two Taylor Fladgate Ports for $10 each, we received the bill. Amazingly, we were charged $2.00 for the sliver of chocalate moose birthday cake (which we never ordered). We just spent $415 including tip on dinner and were charged $2.00 for a "two bite" piece of birthday cake we didn't even order. A summary would be: good food, the dips are an interesting hook, food is way overpriced and I would hate to think what a full slice of birthday cake would have cost us!

Cons: super expensive, good wine but we felt nickle and dimed

Heard a lot about this place so we decided to try it, wish we wouldn't have.

The hostess said maybe one word to us as she sat us in Antartica. The server didn't write anything down, so of course when our appetizer came out (Sauce Sampler... pretty good) 2 of the 5 sauces were wrong. When I tried to tell the food runner he rolled his eyes, put his hand up and rudely told me to wait til he was finished. When I told him the marmalade he brought us was supposed to be the Asian Pear Chutney (which I really wanted to try) and the jalapano something or other was supposed to be wasabe cream, he told me 'oh yeah that's what I meant' and walked away.

Now usually this is the point where you get the manager, well since they all wear their own clothes, we couldn't find a manager to save our lives, and since we were left alone with empty glasses and plates for around 25 minutes we decided to just pay and leave.

Later when we discovered we had left our credit card there, we returned to the same icy hostess, who we inconvenienced by asking for our server, she came up and just stood there, didn't even ask if we needed something just stood there, so we asked about the card. She said 'not here, i'd have it if it was.' Walked away.

I'm hoping the whole restaurant was just having a bad day. But their bad day was bad enough to where I don't really want to go back.

On the bright side, I love the idea but think its better suited for a fun atmosphere like CB & Potts or something a little less stuffy. Great meats, and the sauces were wonderful.

I just went here last week for a going away dinner. The only thing that disappointed me was that I hadn't been to Vesta Dipping Grill in about 5 years. I don't remember it being that good 5 years ago, but it was great. The sauces were good as they should be, but the underlying food was equally matched. There were four of us that ordered medium steaks and they were all just a tad bit on the rare side. I am not sure what the chocolate cake was that I had with a vanilla bean sauce on top of it, but if you were to describe richness by neighborhoods, this was Beverly Hills rich.

We had a great meal here. The service was attentive and the food was very good. The sauces that were recommended were all very good and gave a totally different flavor combination for each bite. We really enjoyed it and we'll be back

The food and service was great. We had a party of 7 and the service was pretty quick for such a large party. The food was top quality, but it ended up being a pretty expensive bill by the end of the night. Other than the price, absolutely no complaints. Great place to eat!

First let me preface this by saying, we go out a lot and to very good restaurants. This was absolutely not one of them. The meats were pretty good, the venison has some very excellent qualities. The beef tenderloin was cooked well, but not the best cut. The Shrimp and bay scallop ceviche was very good and has some nice flavors with the medium spice. The vietnames egg rolls were ok, with the crust be excellent and the filling being worthless. The food overall was very good. The service was terrible. We were sat at 7:00. We had our first contact with our waiter at 7:25. Since we had 25 minutes to look over the menu, we were pretty sure what we were going to get, but we just ordered drinks and appetizers. The first bottle of wine was not available, and instead of just asking if we want another bottle, the waiter goes into a long story of why it is out. Who cares? Apologize, and just get me the second bottle. We next see our waiter about 30 minutes later with the appetizers and bottle of wine. At this point we order, because who knows when we will see him next. We order and he is just very rude from then on, tossing dessert menus at us, not explaining anything. This waiter took what could have been a nice experience into a restaurant we will not return to.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. All their basic food is plain, then they offer a large variety of sauces to dip it in. So you can order a good quality steak then get a choice of I think 3 sauces (it could be more). I would suggest ordering the Pita bread appetizer because that allows you to choose extra sauces for with your food. The management has been a bit snooty at times, but the wait staff is excellent and I've never had anything bad on the menu.

My husband and I had heard such great things about this place...great food, great ambiance, good service, romantic, etc. so we decided to try it out.

Our reservations were at 6:45, so we showed up at 6:40 and checked in with the hostess. She said it would be a few minutes, so we went and sat at the bar. 6:45 came and went, then 7:00, 7;05, at about 7:10 we started to notice that people who came in after us were getting seated. At 7:15, my husband decided to check in with the hostess. They acted very confused, and said they could go ahead and seat us.

We were finally seated at 7:20 (40 minutes after we got there...35 minutes after our reservation.) They only excuse we were given was that there was a mix-up with the hostesses when they switched shifts.

Our waiter was decent, but acted distracted most of the time...he actually brought us our appetizer twice, not realizing we'd already eaten our appetizer...it was a bit strange.

The place was REALLY loud too! The music was so loud that everyone was trying to talk above it and my husband and I couldn't even hear each other. Not romantic at all!!

The food was good...really no complaints there. Just keep in mind if you go to this restaurant that the food is decent, but the service is really bad!! And, don't go here if you are looking for a romantic evening.

First time there, and probably the last. Great food, and wait staff was very attentive. However, service out of the kitchen was very slow, and the wait staff kept coming by to apologize. We were a party of two and chose to share a salad and two entrees, as three courses (the restaurants suggestion). The salad came fast, but then there was over an hour wait for the 1st entree. Restaurant was about 75% full at the time. This will prevent us from returning.

Pros: Good food

Somewhat consistant food, slightly overated ,see and be seen. The food is usually excellent , the service is very sketchy and sometimes rude. I have been there in small parties as well as special arrangements for large celebratory parties. The kitchen once flipped out an ember and burned my daughters arm. The restitution for that mishap was a flippant "oops".

My husband and I went there for a fun night out but were very disappointed. First and foremost we had a reservation but we had to wait for 20 minutes. After we were sat we waited 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. This continued throughout the night. When we received our food the steak was overcooked and the chicken was undercooked. I would not recommended this to anyone!

First, the good things.
Vesta has a wonderful ambiance and location. Everything from the lighting, menus and the table settings to the power washed brick walls and old wooden floors patched up with metal is esthetically pleasing. The reason I gave this restaurant two tries was because of how much I like its facade but last Saturday night will be my last time at Vesta.

On to the bad.
There are only two vegetarian items on the entree menu. The first is a tofu steak that was very bland and altogether unfortunate tasting. This food was not something close to being worthy of its price tag and most of it went to the trash can. The second entree is a "vegetarian mixto" composed of a small portion of grilled vegetables and grits. While this dish was less disappointing than the last, it was completely without creativity and again, I left hungry.

Now, I know that this is a very popular restaurant and that many people enjoy it. Everyone that I've eaten at Vesta with has enjoyed it but none of them were vegetarians. It's very important for any restaurant but especially for well liked restaurants to have at least one very good vegetarian meal. Vesta has two not good meals that really need to be taken off of the menu and created anew.

I want to like Vesta, I really do. The servers are polite and accommodating and the samosas on the appetizer menu are delicious, but the entrees just ruin the entire experience. My advice to Vesta is to put more thought into the desires of foodies who happen to go without meat and my advice to vegetarians is to try another restaurant like Potager, who knows vegetarians very well.

I hope this is helpful. Thank you!

We went to Vesta's for a well deserved Friday evening away from the kids. We got street parking right outfront (bring quarters) We had early reservations (5:45) and were a few minutes late. There was no problem being seated, and our table was great. The server was awesome, and knowledgeable about the entire menu.

We had ceviche to start, because of all the great reviews. It was pretty good, but we went with the chile verde level, and I think that was a mistake. The best part about ceviche is the freshness, and mixing it with a sauce was interesting. I think next time we would go with the mango poblano, just to make it a little more authenic, or plain with a sauce on the side.

While waiting for our entree, they brought us some samples of menu items, which was great. I ordered the pork tenderloin which was delish, there was alot of meat, and tons of rice and onions. (I didnt even eat it all there was so much) Presentatoin was great. It comes with mojito onions, and they did taste like a mojito! I went ahead and got the suggested paired sauces. My husband had the scallops. They were cooked to perfection and a large serving (4-5 large scallops). The sweet potatoes were do good that he ate them even though he doesnt like sweet potatoes. They accidentally brought us hot fudge instead of one of his sauces, but they quickly fixed it, and brought us a complimentary desert sampler to make up for the mistake!!

All in all, great dining, I don't have any complaints, and that is odd for me!!

A co-worker and I ate here when we were in town on business. Two years later I still wish they had a Vesta Dipping in my hometown. I had the tuna steak, which was cooked perfectly. The dessert was good too. I actually bought bottles of two of the dips to bring home. It was kind of pricey ($100+ for two meals and two desserts), but so delicious!

This was one of the best places I have ever eaten! The atmosphere was dark and trendy. This is a great place for a first date, or any date really. You get to choose from 3 sauces to have with your dinner, and of course you can mix and match and try eachothers. The beef tenderloin was melt in your mouth delicious and our waitress recommended the venison which was even more amazing! We got dessert and I was so glad we did, it was one of the best ones I have ever had (we got the Mattys apples, the chocolate bar and the ice cream sandwiches). If you want to try something different and fantastic, check this place out!

I have been to Vesta numerous times and the food is always fantastic. I'm a big fan of the samosas for appetizers. The corn dipping sauce that comes with is delicious! Highly recommended!

The food is good, but not $25+ per entree good. This is basically a typical Lodo restaurant where they have an upscale/trendy atmosphere so they can get away with over-charging. While the food is good, you can easily make anything on the munu better than they do if you know how to use a grill. I suppose it's a nice place to take groups who want to be entertained and feel like they are being trendy. But if you're looking for a great meal of grilled meat, just stay in and do it yourself.

I am very picky about food. I won't say that I'm like Anton Ego from Ratatouille, but I will say that I don't bother to eat something that isn't worth the time to taste. Also, since we don't have a lot of money, being able to go out to eat is a luxury that we save up and plan for, and we better find the experience as a whole worth the expenditure. I want to be catered to, and treated well. On both of these counts, I have never had a dining experience better than I did at Vesta Dipping Grill last night for Restaurant Week. I had the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Salad, with the Grilled Hangar Steak, and Chocolate Cake. The chocolate cake had ancho chili in it which was surprising, spicy and oddly nice, the salad was rich, salty, and still "healthy" for certain definitions of healthy (my definition), and the steak was tenderloin quality, with spinach so good that I will have to redefine my view of vegetables. In addition to the quality of the food, I also liked the Chef's Taste at the beginning, sort of a little mini appetizer to tempt us into coming back to try all the things that weren't on the menu for the night. Finally, and I cannot say enough about this, the customer service was incredible. I had made reservations through OpenTable and, perhaps owing to my being an idiot on the computer, the reservations, for whatever reason did not go through, which I learned when I called to confirm. Not only did the manager come on the phone and correct the situation the night before, but personally took care of our table the following night, in addition to the regular wait staff who were also exemplary. Not only did we not have an empty glass or plate the whole time, but they took care of my 2 year old, making sure that her meal came out at the right time to prevent tantrums or toddler boredom, which any parent out with a child can appreciate. We will be returning to the Vesta often, and I would and will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know in or out of town.

We read that this place was *SOOO* great, and supposed to be really romantic, so we decided to finally check it out. I don't know what I was expecting, but the food was decent, really nothing spectatcular. The website makes the restaurant look bigger and better than it actually is. The seating is a bit cramped, and it isn't as cozy as you think it might be from the photos you'll see online.

Maybe it was way too hyped for me? If you really want an extra special evening, this isn't the place. Its fine for some good food maybe pre-baseball game, but nothing spectacular.

We have been going to Vesta for years and it is always excellent. The roasted chicken is fantastic and all the sauces are so much fun! This is a great restaurant to bring out-of-towners or just have a nice evening out yourself!

I have been coming to Vesta for about 2 years now and I have never been disappointed, not with anything, so I figured it was about time that I shout it from the rooftops! The superior seared Ahi! The succulent venison! Everything on the menu simply melts in your mouth and makes for one of the best meals you will ever enjoy. The atmosphere is trendy, but not too pretentious. The location is excellent, even though parking can be a challenge. The wait staff is composed of very highly educated and professional people who are always pleasant and accommodating. The last time we dined at Vesta Rob was our server, and he was such a wonderful addition to our experience. He was informative, very personable, highly skilled, and seemed to be a sincerely great person. We have also had the pleasure of being waited on by Chris and also Kyle, both of these gentleman are just as spectacular, so pleasant and personable! Thank you Vesta, for always being on top of your game. Your chefs are excellent, your servers are perfect, and your atmosphere is light and fun. These guys really know what it takes to make a fine restaurant and a perfect night out. Denver's best!

I have been going to Vesta for several years to enjoy dinner or the special occasion. On my most recent visit with my girlfriend, we started at the bar where we always receive prompt and doting attention. Many of the bartenders have been working at Vesta for years and one of them, Kari-I believe-immediately recognized us, which was surprising because we're not exactly regulars. We didn't have a reservation and the wait for a table was about an hour, but we didn't mind because hanging out at the bar can kind of be a warm-up to the main event, enjoying an appetizer, cocktail and conversation with the bartenders. We tried the vesta roll-an old stand-by-and the new rock shrimp tempura, both were great. We were showed to our table where our server mentioned that in addition to the wine list, there are often handsold bottles of wine available. I asked about them and from a list of diverse offerings, I chose a unique Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills, CA. The wine paired greatly with the venison and flatiron entrees we enjoyed, but tasted that much better with the knowledge that we were drinking a special bottle from two young winemakers I had read about. I would definitely encourage anyone to ask about the handsells... Vesta has always impressed us, but it seems that there is always something new to get into there and that's nice to know when a dining experience can often just be business as usual. One secret that I don't mind mentioning is that while we were in the mood for a table on this visit, my girlfriend and I often opt for dinner at the bar where the action and people-watching provides quite a deal of entertainment. Thanks Vesta!

It broke my heart not to be able to give Vesta all 5 stars...
My husband and I have been dining at this great place for a few years, actually we met there, so it's a very special place for us. For years we've received above stellar service. We've dined in the dining room and at the bar, and have always been treated like royalty by the entire staff. We never worried when we saw new faces because we were sure Vesta only hired the cream of the crop. A few weeks ago though, we went in for dinner and sat at the bar. We've never, ever had such a bad time at this restaurant. We left disappointed withough complaining because maybe it was just an "off" night. We came back the next week and again the bartender, a man with a dark beard and tattoos, gave us the exact same treatment. He completely ignored us, and instead focused all his attention on a group of single girls at the end of the bar. He was slow to take our order, we felt like we had to flag him down to get his attention. When he finally brought us our mojitos, a common drink, they were terrible! We ended up with a glass of wine and a beer instead. Our food was delicious, as always, it almost made up for the rest of the experience. At the end of our meal we decided to give him another chance and ordered two lemon drops - drinks we've had there before and enjoyed, and again, a very common drink. It was almost comical how long it took for him to make them, and with all the effort they were just so different from when we've had them there in the past. I think the rudeness of this particular person left us with an overall bad taste in our mouths.

This is oddly uncharacteristic of this restaurant, and I'm sad to even be complaining. Normally, Vesta offers service that surpasses any I've experienced in my travels around the world...I hope these two experiences are not a sign of where they are headed.

As always the food was phenomenal. We are seriously considering ordering our food to go in the future.

I love ethnic food and I love different kinds of chutney. But you can go to Little India for about 1/4 of the price and get the same type of food. This place is loud and ridiculous. The service is fine and the food is okay but I wouldn't waste your time or money unless you are a "scenester" from the suburbs and feel like "going out in the big city".

Though it was the middle of the week we were having a girl?s night out. We were all pretty indecisive about where to go until I suggested Vesta. We arrived without a reservation and had a little bit of a wait in the bar. We had a round of drinks, with some very helpful wine suggestions from the bartender. We were finally sat and everything from then on was great. Our server was on point that night, she was full of smiles, had great knowledge and very good timing. We skipped appetizers, to save room for our favorite apple dessert, and went straight for dinner. We all tried to have something different but there were a few tunas around the table. We did agree to try several different sauces so we all ordered something different with our meals and there was about 20 sauces being passed around the table. I highly suggest the sweet chili ginger and the pepper aioli, they were the favorites. For dessert we of course had an apple but we also tried some gelatos, what great flavors and we also got sauces with dessert. Vesta came through again, what a great start to our night. Every time we eat here we always end up asking each other why we don?t come more often.

We had dined at Vesta for our belated Valentine's dinner. This was our second visit to the restuarant and had enjoyed our first experience. This visit however was less then memorable. The food we ordered was delicous and very enjoyable, unfortunately the service ruined the dinner. We were seated promptly but then waited ten minutes before being greeted by our server and then waited some more for our drink order. When drinks arrived my wine was warm, and our server dropped it off and was to be seen another several minutes later to take our order which we had to call him over to ask if we could place our order. After that we never saw our server again and when we did he approached us in a "did you need something?" manner but never asked or checked to see if we really did we always had to call him over. The restuarant was not busy at this time at all and the only thing that keeps this review afloat is that the food was wonderful. I am not sure how eager we will be to return since the service towards us was so poor we can go without the great food.

Vesta Dipping Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. I love the deemed lights and the candle light without the white table cloth. The inside of the building is very contemporary and unusual in a funky king-of-way. The wonderful presentation, yummy dishes and the combination of sauces make the food taste like something out of this world. Before dining at Vesta, I would have never thought of dipping my venison in a Dried Berry Chutney and Smoked Pinaple sauce, but now I can't get enough!

I travel a lot for work. I also tend to pick where the staff and I will eat after a long day's work. We've all eaten at some very fine places in the past few years of travels to just about every major city in the US.

Our experience at the Vesta Dipping Grill was the apex of our experiences thus far. Arriving with all of our gear and no reservations, we were treated well from the start. We sidled up to the bar and were served with vigor and a smile - very promptly. We were seated in about an hour. just as the host promised - not bad considering the size of the establishment, which has the feel of an urban studio - rustic brick walls, low light, and eclectic modern styling - plus a "semi"-performance kitchen that wafts some wonderful smells and sounds from the rear of the house.

Once seated, our waiter Josh, was informative, and most pleasantly, paid full attention to us - not looking around the room as waitstaff often does. His demeanor was calming - and relaxed us all. Even the person that explained the sauces gave us a good vibe. I would hope that whatever they teach the staff at the Vesta Dippping Grill could be taught as a college course! The host even offered to take some of our gear and stow it for us.

I know...what about the food! Well, It was fantastic! One of the best things was the grits and roasted corn that came with the bass. The miso dipping sauce was very nice. There isn't anything on the menu that we found not excellent!

Keep up the great service and the incredible food - and thanks for calling the cab for us!

I went here expecting the "best restaurant in Denver" and it was far from it. I got the half chicken which was already soaked in too many spices and flavors that there was really no point in dipping it in anything. It was just a little too salty for me. Overall, this place is too expensive for what you get.

Me and my wife ate here for one of our honeymoon dinners while we were in dinner. I chose this place because of the unique dipping sauce idea that I read about, I'm a MAJOR dipper. We were quite impressed by the ambiance, lighting, tables, etc. It was quite a long wait to get our entrees, at least 45 minutes. Our service was decent, nothing spectacular, we didn't really receive that much attention I guess since we only ordered waters (we did apps and drinks next door before hand). I was quite excited when we recieved roasted garlic with our pre dinner bread, something different, but it wasn't that exciting. I ordered the flat iron steak, my wife odered the chili seared tuna for entrees. My steak was quite good, but I wished I had chosen my own dipping sauces rather than the ones suggested in the menu. I actually liked my wife's tuna more, which was very good! I guess overall it was an impressive meal, but as far as the food, it was nothing that left me wanting to run out and reccomend it to people.

This is a fun place. The atmosphere is really fun with great music. The sauces they give you to dip stuff in are incredible. Be sure and ask your server for advice, theirs is usually really good. I've had some good and some bad service here, it is hit and miss with it. It is extremely expensive and you don't go away feeling full.

We went there on a double date with some good friends and it was good food and good fun. Try the pita appetizer as you can test some of the dips before your meal. We each had a different plate and loved our dipping sauces and were using each others as well! The atmosphere is very trendy, but not too cold. Our service was excellent. Next time we will have to try dessert! The only con - the prices were a little high. But worth it.

Stopped in on busy friday night and was seated within 45 min. 45 spent at the bar sipping a great mojito and noshing on the vesta tuna roll chatting with my love and listening in on the others around me..... what a shame. Great attention from the servers and very modern atmosphere... just a little noisy. You'll have to lean over to really hear what the other person is saying. Darn... we'll have to get close!

Pros: Atmosphere, service, food quality

Cons: noisy

Man does this place cater to children! It is sometimes hard to find a really great place to eat and be able to take the kids. Amenities include highchairs/booster seats, sippy cups and a diaper changing station. Not to mention the kids menu! I highly recommend Vesta for all kid accompanied restaurant goers.
