So here is a time line, I've been moving for months and i had no more strength to move the heavy stuff...
I called Man with a Van on Thursday at 5pm, in 20 min they were in my house and in 2 hours they had me moved! I could not believe it! IT beats, getting a uhaul for lots of money + paying uncle sam 30 % tax on rental vehicles..., feeding your friends with pizza and beer!
I strongly recommend A Man With a Van. Support our local business and hire them!!!!! They're awesome!

We have used A Man With a Van three times in total and every time they are very friendly, professional and efficient.

Derek and Tom moved our things today and they were great. They were on time, very careful with our furniture and very professional.

We would definitely use them again!
Thanks guys!

Pros: Friendly, professional movers

Started calling for help to unload a POD 10 days before movers were needed. Unfortunatley I was calling for Memorial Day weekend, a super busy time. The first 4 places I called were booked but A Man with a Van squeezed me in early Saturday morning - perfect! The two guys showed up on time and ready to go. They worked hard and fast while still being careful of table edges, woodwork and the like. They did a great job and then were on their way. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

Derrick and Tom really helped me out with a last minute call moving my stuff into the garage when I got my floors refinished. They were prompt, kind and very professional in taking care of my furniture. They are a great team and work well together. And in the office, they're close to completing their certification in Good Customer Relations and will raise the bar for movers in Denver.

Jerry, Higinio, and Derrick came to the house a few minutes early - did a walk through and told me we were probably over the estimated time, we talked about it, I understood and we agreed. They got to work right away. It was a long day, they did not stop. All in all it was a 10 hour move and those guys worked their tails off. I have already recommended A Man With a Van Moving and I will continue to do so in the future. Excellent service.

A few years ago we used A Man with A Van and had a very positive experience.
So...when we moved this weekend only 4 blocks way from our current apartment-I decided to use them again (as my husband was away in Ireland for a funeral during the move).
The two employees arrived only 5 minutes late so I thought we were off to a good start. They surveyed our small one bedroom apartment and immediately the older gentleman Jim told me it would probably be double the price I was quoted. I said let's see how it goes. I am not sure if it was because I was female and alone, that he thought he could scam me a little? I am not really sure. My husband was a mover years ago and I know it's a tough job. I've moved stuff myself many times. I'm no moving bumpkin.
Anyways, at 8:15 am they told me they have forgotten their moving pads and had to go back to retrieve. They returned at 9:05 am. They were done loading everything shortly before 10am.
We were moving from a first floor apartment to a second floor apartment, but I can tell you the stairs are not steep on the second floor apartment.
The employees also mentioned more than once that they had done a 13 hour job the day before. While I sympathize, it really had nothing to do with us and we were only a two hour job anyways.
They wound up keeping a t.v entertainment center of ours because they said they wouldn't be able to fit it up the stairs of our new place. And this is without even attempting to try first. Now, it was recent second-hand gift and I was so tired at that point I believed them-and told them to keep it. I wasn't attached to it. While at our old apartment, I had given Jim our portable swamp cooler (as our new place has central a/c) as well.
Anyways, then Jim said our sofa bed would definitely not fit up the stairs. I told him it would probably fit, especially since it had fit through a stairwell half the size (without removing the legs) in NYC. It took about 10 minutes of convincing for them to even attempt. My brother-in-law and sister had shown up by then and asked them to please try as well. And guess what? It fit without a problem!
The movers handed off light stuff to them, to bring up the stairs as well. At that point we just wanted them to be done with it
They charge $85 an hour so I wasn't about to ask them to go back down and get the entertainment center. I was really fed up at that point.
In the end, I was charged $233.00 for 2 hours and 15 minutes(drive time). I gave them each a $40 tip because I am not heartless and I believe in karma. But honestly, I am a little bitter about the whole experience.

Both Roberto & Lupe' were professional, pleasant, hard-working, careful and accommodating. I felt very comfortable having them in my home -- they were clean and courteous. They made sure I was completely happy with the placement of everything in the new location, and offered to do more if I wanted anything done. They took very good care of all the pieces, even the delicate, older pieces. I will definitely use this company again if I ever need to make another move. Brett, the owner, was easy and pleasant to deal with, and I was charged exactly what he told me I would be -- no extras "tacked on". I am a happy, satisfied customer and glad to write this review!!

Vernon and Clayton arrived at my apartment and quickly assessed that I had understated my needs. Nevertheless, my move, including packing, went very smoothly and efficiently. I can't say enough good things about them!
Would definitely call "Man With a Van Moving", 303-370-6600, again. They even bought back some of the boxes which were emptied before the moving was complete.
Thank you company, Vernon, and Clayton!

I am a resident of Denver's Hilltop neighborhood, and was very concerned about the handling of a number of expensive and unique pieces of furniture and works of art for my local move; I contracted with A Man With A Van based on their Westword "Best Of Denver" rating. Like most people past a certain age, I've had a fair amount of experience with moving companies. Some OK, some awful, and never on time unless you're the first customer of the day. I understand how it works. I have never written a review of any service before this, but my experience with A Man With A Van has been exceptional. They did a wonderful job and I recommend them completely. We were just too busy to help with much of anything for the move, so they did all the packing and unpacking too, even though I said we'd get most of the packing done beforehand, and they didn't complain (this is why you should expect late movers if you're not the first job of the day, and now I've done it myself- sorry to everyone else). The men were fine with my concerns about several irreplaceable pieces of furniture and artwork, assured me they'd worked with museum pieces before (and actually listened to me instead of just paying lip-service), and they way they treated them it was obvious that they knew what they were doing. Good. After everything was unpacked, it all looked good and nothing was broken or missing- that's worthy of a positive review itself, and a big sense of relief. They were on-time, their pace was consistent and fast, and the men actually cared about doing a good job. Worthy of the tip, absolutely. The people in the office were easy to work with and honest- this company is thorough and professional. I've hired movers overseas, on both coasts and here in Denver, and have to say that A Man With A Van are the best movers I've ever hired in 40+ years. Really nice job, guys, thanks again.

The guys were almost an hour late, one worked really hard, but the other was slow and had to be told over and over and over to "pick up the pace". His co-worker had to keep getting after him to "get a move on". When I called the main number, the guy (who is the owner/the person I made the reservation with) actually yelled at me, was unprofessional!
The owner asked to speak with the fast guys, after speaking to him and confirming my story, he didn't even extend me the common courtesy of apologizing for yelling and cussing at me! Wow~ HORRIBLE customer service, very unprofessional.

This company sends slow guys to get money out of you. My quote was $89 an hour, they charge $89 right off the bat for (travel time) A one bedroom apt took almost 4 hours!!!

I will NEVER use these people again! They have been reported. I had NEVER been spoken to the way the owner spoke to me. When the owner of a company is THAT unprofessional, you feel hopeless and stuck. I might as well have rented a donkey and hauled my stuff yourself!!!! I would have been better off and the donkey moves much faster.!

They made moving so much less stressful. They showed up on time and in no time they had everything packed, moved and unpacked. The movers were really nice and friendly.

This company is absolutely horrible - DO NOT USE THEM! They have people come into your home who have warrants out for their arrest - they use trucks with expired license plates, and they rip you off when it is over and you have had to help finish the move because their employee got arrested - the person in charge, Brett is rude, obnoxious and full of himself and specializes in how to rip people off! BE VERY VERY CAREFUL - DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO ELSEWHERE!

The two men who moved my furniture do not even fit into the category of movers- they were as careful with my stuff as I would have been. They charge hourly, and it is important to allow plenty of time; it took a good hour longer than I expected. In the end it is worth it, though. My items suffered no damage in this move, and in the history of my moves, that is a first.

Cons: Time

I would not recommend this company. The two movers they sent complained the entire time about how far they had to carry our things and how hard it was going to be to find a parking spot at our new location. They were incredibly slow and nearly doubled their estimate on the phone. A simple move, which should have taken around 3 hours, took 6.5 hours and costs entirely too much. Had they brought three movers it would have been much faster. Additionally, they asked for a tip when we were signing the paperwork. Not a very classy company to say the least.

They treated our stuff with care and treated my new home with care at their best effort. All of my stuff arrived just fine and nothing broke.

Only thing that did not make me happy was them moving the piano where i told my husband where i wanted it down into the basement and the movers left it in the livingroom and they said they would send someone out to move it into the basement with in a week. My husband kept forgetting to call them back after the week had passed. So the gentelman I spoke on the phone is pretty upset about it with his boys and a bit at us for the time had passed. Hopefully the situation will get solved and find out why they didnt come back to finish the move or so.

A Man with a Van has moved me about 4 times now, and it has always been an extremely positive experience. The movers were professional, friendly and very fast! I've been amazed every time at how fast they moved my things, seeing as they're getting paid by the hour. They were very careful with my belongings, and the price is very reasonable. Setting up an appointment was also quick and easy. Would highly recommend and will definitely use the next time I move in-state.

I see that some of the comments here are extremely negative; however, my experience with A Man With A Van was very positive, timely and efficient.

I am a certified customer who did not have a large job - pick up reupholstered furniture and move huge, heavy refrigerator upstairs. Nonetheless, I was treated as if it mattered.

The reception staff and the movers are attentive and professional. JUST A NOTE: I would advise that one not talk to the owner; rather, ask for one of the staff as the owner is a little prickly. Outside of that, I know these folks will get the job done and get it done right!

Cons: Owner can be a bit testy.

Extremely efficient, Man With A Van, handled all my belongings with great care. In addition to being carteful of the items they moved they also blanket wrapped my bannister and put blankets on my carpet to protect it. The movers were polite and hardworking.

They did a great job.

Absolutely terrible. I had two movers that charged me 9.5 hours for a move out of a one bedroom and into their storage facility. They ruined my armoire, dresser and broke my speakers and glassware. I called to complain and was told I'd have to take them to court to get them to pay for the damages or to reimburse the over-charging for the move. The owner was condensending and called me baby and yelled at me. So I'm getting the papers together to take him to court now. The move out only took 4.5 hours (with travel time). Must more reasonable...

I was extremely pleased with A Man with a Van's service. The two movers I had scheduled to load up my moving van arrived right on time at 10AM ( I was given an arrival window of 10-11 AM). The movers were professional and efficient. I would highly recommend this company's service to others.

BEWARE!!

We were given an estimate for a move that was WAY off!! We were quoted 6-8 hours for a move INCLUDING the packing of ALL of our belongings. We decided to save money by packing ourselves and it STILL took the movers 8 hours. When we called the office after the move to request a refund of the money we expected to save by packing ourselves, we were told that "an estimate is an estimate and it's not uncommon for them to be 20%-30% off," which the estimator failed to mention when he was actually at our property. The man on the phone (apparently the owner) proceeded to be very rude and accuse us of "misleading" the estimator to believe that one elevator was to be used over another and that was the reason for the price hike. This was not true. We reported this incident to the Bureau, and A Man WIth A Van refused to refund the $345 we had requested to have refunded. They went on to flat out LIE, saying that the movers had to share the elevator they were using to move us, which is just silly ...Waterside Lofts requires anyone moving in or out of the building to reserve the moving elevator solely for their move. Seriously, if you are going to give crappy service AND lie on top of it, try to make up stuff you won't get caught on. Feel free to check out our full report on this company with the Bureau (if it's up yet). One of the reasons we chose this company was because of their good record with the Bureau, but I have never had such horrible service from any company EVER in my entire life. If you do decide to use this company (the actual mover guys were respectful and our belongings were moved without incident...I can give credit where it is due), plan to be ripped off financially and PRAY that you don't have to actually call the office for anything. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone- not just because I am so disappointed with them, but because I wouldn't want anyone else to endure the same kind of treatment we received.
