The Foundry is a CU student hangout. It's a large bar with a nice rooftop. The drink deals are reasonable. However, If you don't like being around a bunch of drunk college kids then I suggest you go early. It's mostly a college crowd.

Never in my life have I gone into any place of business and been treated with such abuse!! Anyone who spends money there is out of his/her mind!

Pros: anything good about this place died a long time ago

Cons: abusive staff and horrific service

What a great surprise. Looks like a dive on the outside, but is nice, new and friendly on the inside.

About a half dozen pool tables, but I love the marble bar with the frost covered mountain that dispenses draft beer! Had a couple of lunches and an early dinner, so have missed out on the wild dancing scene after 10pm. Doesn't matter, the day Foundry is good enough for me.

Great Food. I had Jose's chicken and vegi tamales - which he says he makes fresh daily, and the BBQ ribs are the lip-smaken best this side of Kansas City! Can't beat the price where you can get dinner and a couple of beers under $10.

Upstairs bar has great views of the Flatirons, and helpful young lassies more than happy to bring you a frosty cool one. I recommend it without reservation during the day. Understand if you come after 10 pm, it is the high energy dance place, and another biz altogether.

With drafts @ $1 from 6-10 and tasty fresh food, I'm coming back, either for the food or the live music.

From the outside you think its going to be a dank dive bar, but once you get in it's filled with giant TVs, marble bar and friendly ladies.

I had Jose's fresh Tamales and burritos and they were great. Table over had the BBQ which I sampled and loved.

Cool frosty mini-mountain tap pours coldest beer I've ever had. When I was there $1 drafts were the special from 6pm until ?

Go upstairs, and if its not raining, enjoy the music and the food with great views of the Flatirons. Come with friends, or find some there.

Heard it has a line out the door for the dancing after 11pm.

Pros: Great Fresh Mex / BBQ / Drink Specials

Cons: Old tired front, gets crowded late/dancing

Old converted movie theater recently renovated with marble bar, rooftop grill and expanded menu and beer selection. Giant bar with pool tables down below, great views from their cool bar/rest on top of the building

I have had tamales and burrito - both first class. Beer and drink specials seem to be best in Boulder, and not just for college frats.

Great big new stage downstairs, with lots of variety of music - maybe too much - you never know if you are going to be listening to Rock, Regge, Country, Electronica, Folk or ??? Good quality all though.

Great place to stop for a drink, some music and a bite. Just a half block from the Pearl Street Mall, and easily the most non pretentious place in miles.

Pros: Great ladies, better Mex food, no cover live bands, Giant TV

Cons: meat market after 11pm, no consistancy in live music

The Foundry is a great place to go and shoot some pool and have a drink. It's located in the middle of Boulder and sports a really young crowd. The drinks are pricey, but the billiards is reasonably priced. Overall, a fun spot to be, especially during the summer time.

Boulder's premium spot where "all the beautiful people" can be found, when one enters the Foundry there is a moment of confusion as to whether you're in a college town bar or an Abercrombie & Fitch advert. The Foundry boasts well-made, classy drinks, local beers on tap and a huge billiards room packed with action for every skill level. Whether you're just picking up a game with a few friends or out for a night of serious sharking, there will be a table for you. Ladies, be careful, as the Foundry is notoriously labeled Boulder's meat market. Go with a buddy or friends to ensure a safe night out. The Foundry rooftop is loaded from the moment it opens with mostly Greek-scene collegiates and twentysomething young professionals. It's a great place to hang out, to mingle, to buy pricey drinks and to absorb the experience of being young, attractive, privileged and social...kind of a socialites-in-training sort of experience.

PROS: Beautiful interior, classy atmosphere, superb cocktails
CONS: Drunk frat boys

If you're a citygirl or boy, and thirsty for something hip and trendy in Boulder - The Foundry is a sweet place to be on Thursday nites. The DJ plays pretty awesome hiphop and you can get your groove on. The fun really starts at around 11pm. The bartenders here are the best!

Admittedly it is a yuppie bar, but has a nice cross between laid-back and stylish.

Just checked out the new rooftop deck. Finally, a great view in Boulder with a full bar. Had dinner (the food is simple but fresh and good) and was surprised to hear live music up there! Met some friends and played pool downstairs, and got to hear another band, no cover! They have the nicest pool tables in town - best variety of things to do in town. One-stop shopping downtown for all my entertainment needs. Gotta check out the Jazz upstairs on Sunday.

This place just plain sucks. Too many yuppies squeezed into a bar the size of a sardine can! The bar was 6 deep so you couldn't even get a drink, every pool table in the place was taken the whole night, and the size of the dance floor was as big as a paper towel. Definitely not a laid back atmostphere...too stuffy and trendy. At least it had a cool fishtank to gaze at while waiting in line for a half an hour for a $6 beer in Boulder's meat market.

Pros: Cool Fishtank

In a town of pretentious bars, this is the worst. Its a scene, not a bar. If you like to dress up and try to look cool, and wish to surround yourself with hollow people who like to do the same, then this is your place. Not worth the effort -- go to the Pearl Street Pub and Cellar (about 30 seconds away) instead.
