Had a new book to return with the stickers and no writing inside (it was a cook book where you add your own recipes). It was going to be gift for someone but I changed mind on what I was going to give. No receipt=no return, no store credit, no nothing. I asked for the manager who was very immature and unhelpful as he seemed to enjoy my anger on the issue. I love the feeling of insult. I was happy with an in store credit or whatever, but not so much on the immaturity.

Pros: Mmm...reading material

Cons: Returns and management

Borders has a lot to offer. I never have any difficulty finding something I'd like there. The problem I have is with the Borders Rewards card. Compare this with Barnes and Noble. For $25 a year, I am guaranteed a 10% discount EVERY time I shop. To join the Borders Rewards program I must yield up my email, and be subjected to that loathely item, the Coupon. No coupon, no discount. Originally, too, the rewards program kept track of my purchases, and I could build up a discount. Now if I don't go in monthly, I lose my rewards. I find myself unmotivated. It IS a good bookstore. I simply find I am more rewarded going to Barnes and Noble, and they tend to see me there more often. I should also mention that both stores are rather extremely more expensive for DVD and CD purchases than, say, amazon.com.
