Avoid this place like the plague! First off, he told me that if I didn't sell to him today, he would charge an "appraisal fee". (Other places don't do this.) I told him I don't do business like that and, after another exchange, I told him to "Go to Hell". Then he said "F*** Off, Idiot!" Would you want to do business with a guy like that? There are plenty of nice guys buying gold, silver and jewelry. Go to one of them!

Shopped 2 other stores before I sold my gold (jewelry) to the Rocky Mt'n Coin Shop prior to Christmas. The other 2 places I shopped wanted to know how much I wanted?? I said as much as I can get. Both places were reluctant on giving me a price unless I told them what I wanted. The bottom line is that I received a better price and a lot more courtesy.

flat out lied regarding redemption. purchased gold coins that were, supposedly, so rare that I paid a 10% premium on the purchase. However, the caveat was that you would gain back the 10% once gold prices soared, and we would pay the spot price of gold for your coins since they were American Eaglea and the fact you bought them from here, as long as the prices of gold were stable. I counted on that and let the white haired old fart at the Arapaoe store know that's why I was buyt ng at that price. However, when I was pressed to leave on a business deal, on the way to the airport, that white haired old fart would not honor the spot price for American Eagles, screwing me over for over for several hundred dollars on a low money transaction. He can spout off all he wants as I have the receipts. Go somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended by a friend I found Rocky Mountain Coin to be the most honest and courteous of the 3 other stores I shopped to sell my collection of coins. Don't believe the negative hype and see for yourself as I have.

I took some silver dollars to Rocky Mountain Coin to sell recently. Though I am not an expert, I did look up the "melt" value of the coins. RMC offered me less than the melt value of the coins, even though one of the dollars was quite valuable. When I questioned the price, they became rude. I went next door to Dave's Gold and Silver Exchange. He offered me more than two and a half times the price and was pleasant to work with. He earned my business and made the sale, and he will be the one I go back to.

I recently visited this company in search of some rare coins to add to my collection. The employees were incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and helpful! They had a large selection of rare coins, as well as other coin-related services! They are a fair deal, comparable to many places I have purchased coins from before.

I shopped around my collection of old gold coins, I first went to Sonny's jewelery store, they had a ad in the paper saying they buy gold. Their offer seems a little low. I had no idea how low it was until I went into Rocky Mountain Coin and was offer almost 4 times as much money for my coins, I wont be specific about amounts but the difference in price would buy a nice used CAR! A nice young man with a pony tail helped me and explained that my gold coins were only worth the gold value and were not rare. But they still offered ~4x more!!!!!! I'm really glad I spent the extra time to make the extra money. I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Coin for honest straight deals Thanks again Rocky Mountain Coin! Thank you Thank you Thank you

I am a regular customer of Rocky Mountain Coin and find the previous review of the customer claiming horrendous service unbelievable. Sounds to me like a jealous competitor. I know the owner (Klaus Degler) personally and have always found him and his employees being respectful, honest and knowledgeable professionals. The claim of the disgruntled customer that they are not members of the BBB is totally false. Not only are they members, but have received the BBB Gold Star Award. The company is on Tom Martinos recommended list and just recently received by independent survey The 2009 Best in client satisfaction award. (As seen in 5280 & Colorado Biz magazines Sept. issues) And that's THE TRUTH. Highly recommend!

I called rocky mtn coin with questions about silver prices. I wanted to know their premium and taxes to get a price. They were rude and insulting and actually hung up on me while I was talking to them. They have been rude and short before. I will never set foot in that store again. They are smug and arrogant and give off that feeling to the customers, the people who have made them what they are. I've read bad reviews about them before and I'm sure that they will respond to this one with the same insults that they have to the other ones. Whatever they may say, the fact is they are just plain rude and bad business people. If you want a better alternative go to gold exchange on Parker road and Peoria in Aurora. they are very friendly and respectful and totally better than rmc in price and quality. I spend thousands on gold and silver each month. Bye bye Rocky Mountain Coin.

I recently went in and asked about buying gold and silver. I stood there for at least ten minutes while the workers just stayed at their desk, not even looking up. I did not go in there to look around. I went in with questions. Anyway, I did come back in two days later and bought the ounces of gold and the 'junk' silver that I was inquiring about. The junk silver, which they said was old coins and silver that was only good for melt value, and weighed so much that I wouldn't be able to carry it out by myself so I would have to have it delivered. I was only buying $1000.00 worth. But I said 'OK' that's fine with me. Plus they said, then you wouldn't have to pay the tax. Again. That was fine by me. Well.... I received the huge package, which was just a very small box, and I thought, well there must be another box that the postman didn't give me yet. But when I opened the box all the gold I ordered was there, but the junk silver? It was actually silver quarters, old, very, very, worn, old silver coins. Some you couldn't even make out the design on them. I couldn't tell if they were american or what. I was charged $3.75 a piece for them. How in the world would these qualify for 'junk' silver? I called them and they said they wouldn't take them back. I drove down there and talked with the owner who still didn't want to take them back, but when I told him the whole story about the little spanish woman telling me I couldn't carry them out by myself and the old gray haired man who wrote up my slip that I couldn't decipher, he still didn't want to take them back. Then I started talking about my friend Tom - as in Tom Martino. He didn't want any trouble or hard feelings and wanted my business so he decided that he would give me back my money. I will never go into that store again. I would never tell anyone to go there either. Only because unless you know exactly what your suppose to receive and get it spelled out word for word (which is something I have never - ever had to do) you will not get your money back and you will be mis-led. So my advice: Do your homework, get everything in writing and shop somewhere else!

I was a new customer, seeing their location next to my bank on Arapahoe after I deposited my tax return check. The white haired old fart was convincing with regards to his promise. Yes, you will pay 10 percent on American Eagle gold coin purchases, but we will buy back at the current spot rate on those coins if the market is stable.\n\nSoI bought at 90 percent of value on $10',000 of coin, or over 9700 if you're splitting hairs. On my way to the airport within the past 2 weeks on the greatest gold run in recent history, he would only offer 311 on American Eagle Quarters. That's 1244 where the spot rate was 1270...ughhhh...and I had more than an ounce to sell...hurts more...have receipts as well if doubts exist.

Pros: Great selection, competitive prices & great customer service

Cons: Parking sometimes diffcult

I was FLOORED by the lack of quality in the workers, management, and the overall sales approach. I had every intention to spend & walked away knowing I'll NEVER put a dollar there. They did NOT approach me with a willingness to help, the manager went so far as to yell and curse when I asked her to verify an item that was being held. When I asked her to contact the employee who put the item on hold, she refused & told me she didn't want my business. Be warned: They are NOT registered with Better Business. Anyone who wants to purchase gold, I would recommend finding a QUALITY dealership that respects the customer and is registered with Better Business.

I recently moved to the Denver area and was very pleased with the clean and professional local shop. Although I am not a high end coin buyer, I was still treated with courtesy and the salesperson took time to answer my questions. Compared to some of the other shops that I visited, I felt very comfortable and\r\nnot being rushed. The selection of coins was very good and fairly priced.
