Hacienda's service at lunch time is typically quick and speedy! They also offer a lunch menu which includes lighter entrees, not to mention their chips and salsa are... muy bueno!

Great food and overall service but the wait times for both a table and the meal can be long. If you have young children, it might be best to avoid peak dinner times.

I ate here for homecoming my junior year! I loved it and now return for almost every formal event! The chicken nachos are the best I've ever had! The atmosphere is very neutral so for a casual lunch it is great but at night a formal dinner is so wonderful! The kids love to watch tortillas being made, and the margaritas are delicious!

My boyfriend and I live in walking distance to Hacienda's and go there quite often. I have to say I got a good laugh at all the bad reviews. First of all, the service can NEVER be bad. The waiters walk with head sets on so that if someone who is not your waiter see's that your drink is empty, boom you have it within seconds. If you run out of chips and salsa, boom it's right there as your finishing it. It's the best experience ever and that is why we have a hard time going anywhere else. We look up different restaurants around the area, but nothing can beat this place!! Try it! If you don't like it, you don't like it! I have a feeling the bad reviews were from people who didn't get their way, or work for another restaurant and they're needing service that bad.

Having gone on a Saturday night, there was a 45 minute wait. Luckily, we found a place at the crowed bar and enjoyed one of the best margaritas in town. Got seated, and started filling up on chips and salsa. Though not the best salsa I've had...it's pretty tasty. I ordered the Admiral Guzman's Shrimp Enchilladas. I have to say it was one of the best shrimp dinners I've had....the shrimp were cooked just right and the sauce was some of the most flavorful I've had...I would recommened Hacienda to anybody...

What an embarrassing evening! I took my most special, out of town guests, per my recommendation, to Hacienda Colorado. We began our feasting on the Margarita Swirls, on to stale guacamole, then the chile rellenos arrived, smothered (and I use that term loosely) with their touted spicy pork green chile. The portions were scant, with me wondering if they had simply forgotten to top with the chile. I glanced around to the plates almost untouched, with polite excuses coming from my guests to the effect they simply were not hungry. The service was very good, how can one not leave a tip for the poor bearer of such pathetic cuisine. The cost to me was significant, not to outweigh said embarrassment.

I'm not a big fan of mexican food in the Denver area. But this place isn't that bad. I would call it a slightly more up scale Don Pablos with better food.

I had the Enchilada and Chili Relleno platter. The enchiladas were fine the rellenos were deep fried with more of a chicken or fish batter on them rather than the traditional egg batter, but they were ok.

The sauces that I tried (Pork Green Chili and Red Chili) were very flavorful.

This isn't the best mexican place in the world, but the food isn't bad and the prices are pretty reasonable. I would go back again.

This place has the best mexican food in town. Anyone that would choose the rio over this place must be drinking. Great drinks, not just margs. Home made chips and salsa rock. Great seafood and the best pork green chili sauce.

My husband and I looooooove Hacienda!!! We go here at least every other weekend. Yes, there is always a wait, especially if you go on the weekend around 7-8 but that is ok with us. We just sit in the bar area and grab a margarita and the bartenders always give you some chips and salsa to tide you over while you wait for a table. And the wait is never as long as they tell you. Last night they said "about an hour" and we didn't even wait 30 min. I love the dining area, it's colorful, loud and full of energy. Just hope they don't stick you in the back room, hate that room! The service is always fast and accommodating. The margaritas are a must! Yes, they are a little expensive but they are strong and I can barely drink 2 of them and I am no light weight! The food is far from authentic. It is VERY Americanized but I still love it. The chicken enchilladas are one of my favorites but my most recent discovery is the Poblano de Pollo. LOVE IT! So good, can't get enough of it . It also comes with a very yummy chilie reanno. My husband loves the spicy fish tacos. We love their rice as well. The beans are just so-so. All in all, If you are expecting authentic Mexican food, this isn't the place for you. But, if you are looking for a fun place with a great atmosphere and great food and drinks, Hacienda is the spot!

Not a truly traditional Mexican restaurant but very good. Best spicy ribs Ive ever had. The problem, which others have noted is that it can get VERY busy. So if you go between 5-7pm expect to wait. I only sat in the dining room once or twice. The bar area is far better, the bartenders are very cool and service is faster.

Pros: interesting take mexican food, huge taquila selection

I have eaten in this restaurant about 12 times - 10 of which were for lunch because it is convenient to my office. The food is excellent but the wait for seating - even when the restaurant is 25% - 50% full is maddening. However, if you are limited for time, you can generally seat yourself in the bar. I personally think the food is excellent including the salsa and their very light chips. I have lost sight of what "real Mexican" or "Tex-Mex" or "Southwestern" food is supposed to be. It is very spicy, which I prefer, and I thoroughly enjoy it, especially the salmon salad. The food quality and quantity and the irrational seating are all consistent.

I live in Colorado springs, and this restaurant is on the way when we go to Broncos games... The first time we went we had to wait 15 minutes for our table, then when we got seated realized there were many tables available, I guess they didn't want to seat them timed too close so created a FALSE wait to pretend they were giving good service (Lobby full and restaurant 2/3 at all times we were there-if you aren't staffed to handle a crowd before a Broncos game, what other time would you be?)

Ok service, I thought the Camerones were ok-the salsa was bland, chips good, service fair but snobby ("I'm better than you because I am in Highlands Ranch don't you know??!!....")
Went a second time the ambiance is ok but you are literally back to back with other people's chairs and if they move a little you feel it (maybe that's why they don't fill it up all the way)

This last time we gave it another try, walked in RIGHT WHEN THEY OPENED at 11:00, and had our names taken long with the other 3 parties walking in, and were told a 15 minute wait. We could see in the dining room and there was NO ONE THERE. They literally took 1 party at a time 5 minutes apart so we did wait 15 minutes for a seat in an empty restaurant!! Server came fairly quick with chips and salsa, took our drink order, brought waters and then told us the bar was backed up (HOW?) so waited for out expensive not so good margarita. It was a top shelf made with good tequila and liquiers, but their Sweet & Sour must STINK!! Take a cluse from Chili's and get some better Sweet & Sour mix, it makes a good tequila taste horrible! Anyway, asked for some spicier salsa and she brought us (jalapeno puree-no kidding) to mix in to make it spicier ourselves( This is milder than Taco Bell-not that we are snobs about salsa) Not great, too expensive and marginal food, NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!! They are full of themselves and for no good reason that I could tell....

As soon as you are seated, the hostess brings the chips and salsa (very good thin chips and spicy salsa) to your table and tells you who you will be taking care of you this evening. Very nice touch. Promptly, a server (whose name you already know) comes by and takes your drink order and sees if you have any questions about the menu and specifically their signature sauces, all of which are deliciously unique and listed from hot to mild (top to bottom). Try the spicy pork green chile and the spicy queso on one of their giant combo platters. If you are not looking for the gutbuster special, try a house specialty. The Salmon Pacifico is fantastic, The Camarones are little tastes of heaven and the Fajitas are out of this world. Not too heavy on the spicy, the authentic flavors are allowed to shine through. Anything on the menu paired with an icy bottle of Sol or a salt-rimmed house marg (made with Herradura Coin)will not dissapoint!!!!

I'm with a lot of these other reviewers -- the food at Hacienda is lousy, as is the service, and the wait does not ever justify the experience. So why is everyone there? I'm more intrigued with how this place became "the" place to be and be seen. It was operated by the guys who run Blackeyed Pea restaurants (meatloaf, anyone?), so they obviouslyaren't exactly specialists in the whole Mexican cooking thing. Hacienda is all about marketing.

I've been a victim of the marketing twice, and both experiences were awful. The food doesn't resemble anything Mexican -- authentic or gringo Mex-- and on BOTH my visits, the food was cold! What's with that? The wait was long, and once we were seated we were rushed to get out of the place. Not because it was crowded and they needed to turn over tables, but because the server wanted to go home. How did we know? She TOLD us!

Don't be a fool -- don't fall for the marketing that Hacienda is a great place to go. There's truly nothing to recommend it.

I can't think of one reason to not like this restaurant. Granted if you don't come at the right time there is a wait, well worth it I think. Make sure to use the call ahead seating if you are going to dinner there at a busy time. The chips and salsa are awesome, but if you want something extra try the Queso Hacienda. Superb service, always had someone at the table making sure we have enough chips or drinks. I had my husband's b-day party there this year and it was great. They have 2 private rooms, one seats up to 10 and the other up to I think they said 75. Their tortillas are wonderful and we usually order some to go to eat with our leftovers. Every time family is in town we take them and it always gets rave reviews from them.

I am sick of the Tex Mex Mexican Food in Colorado. If you don't like red sauce smoothered everyting with cheese cheese and more cheese (so everything on your plate tastes the same) then this is your place. They actually have REAL Mexican food with flavor and variety. The food comes to your table VERY fast. The only thing I would change is have the service more personable, you have 3 sometimes 4 different people coming to your table and they all wear ear pieces, a little annoying. But other than that, the food is great!!!

Hi, I've been to Hacienda Colorado twice, only giving them a second chance after
a disappointing first time. This is the blandest Mexican food I've ever tasted. I
would recommend all the well known Fast Food Mexican restaurants as vastly superior
to Hacienda Colorado. I can do vastly better than this at home. Also, the service is
mediocre as well.

My date and I gave the new restaurant on 104th and Hwy 36 a try yesterday and it was thoroughly bad. Salsa was bland and we should have cut our losses and left after a weak, expensive margarita. Headsets on the waitstaff is just too stupid. The 'vegetarian' fajitas consisted of green peppers fried in lard and a teaspoon of guacamole with about five pinto beans in a cup of soupy sauce that tasted of liquid smoke. My date had to send back the chicken enchiladas because it was bad tasting processed chicken and too much cheese.

The Hacienda is close to my place of business - near Echostar, Teletech and First Data. This is a wonderful place to take business partners and clients for lunch. Service is prompt and its priced lower than the decor would lead you to expect. The cuisine is neo-tex-mex, so be warned - it ain't "real" Mexican food. Its just GOOD food, with plenty of variety. Smoke from the bar doesn't filter into the dining area either.

This has to be the worst "mexican" restuarant I have ever been to. And I tried to give it another chance and also tried another location. I don't think I've ever received food there that is actually fully cooked. Every time I've ever been there someones (if not more than one person) meal has to be sent back because it's not right or not what they ordered. The service is horrible!!! The first time we went we waited at least 30 minutes for our drinks (and that was AFTER waiting for the waitress to to even come to our table). We even spoke to a manager on one occasion, but he was rude as well. I will never go back to this place again!

My family has been their twice, trying to give them another go round, we just can't stomach it. I ordered the chicken fajitas, now you think to yourself, "how can you mess up on fajitas?" Well they did, an open faced griddled chicken breast with raw onions and bell peppers as a condinment, the beans are something out of ranchero chuck wagon, the guacamole salad was O.K. but what they charge for it I could probably buy a case of avacados. Ambience is great, but you would think that with all the money they poured into these places they would pay attention to their customers and get "real" mexican food in there. We live in the southwest part of town, and when you ask your freinds whether they want Colorado Hacienda or Taco Bell and we all choose the latter, its time for an overhaul in the kitchen!

I had heard so many good things about Hacienda mostly thru commercials, I guess. I really couldn't find many things that I liked about it. Ambience was nice and they had a good selection but the food and service were bad, and the margarita was marginal at best and expensive. Their staff was not friendly at all. They all seemed preoccupied with each other and it seemed like we were a nuisance to them.

This is definately the worst mexican food I have every eaten! Before moving to Colorado I would drive down into Baja California and eat real mexican food. The food at this place is not mexican. I gave it two trys and both times I was thoroughly disgusted with what was placed in front of me. What is with all the nasty tasting sauces that soak the tortillas to the point of being a slime. I have eaten green chile (aka chili verde) all over California and Mexico, and this is not green chile. The queso sauce is even worse, regurgated it for the next 24 hours. Does everyone in Denver has poor taste, or just don't know any better. Try the Burrito Trucks on Colfax, they have the best and most authentic mexican food in town.

I visited Hacienda/w apx 23 other co-workers. The service was a delight. Our orders were taken/w accuracy & delivered with unexpected speed. After sitting & ordering queso & chips... We ordered our meals & the meals started arriving apx 15 mins after we put the orders in. The margarita was awesome & well worth the purchase. The ambiaence was pleasant, clean & inviting. The menu selection had lots of variety, the staff was quick & attentive. Overall I would say aside for the people who arrieved at the dinner tired from a long day the evening was truly enjoyable & I will visit again.

Recently moved to Denver from San Diego and was born and raised in Phx so I've had lots of Mexican food. We were there on a week day for lunch. The service was very slow. We didn't get our tortillas until we were done with our meal. I think the beans had liquid smoke in them. There were 4 in our party and we all agreed the food was not that great. We all also agreed that the atmosphere at Hacienda was nice...even though we were made to feel like the waitstaff was doing us a huge favor by doing their jobs. I guess they are just better than us. I've dined out enough to know not to judge a restaurant on one experience so we will give Hacienda another chance. I hope we just caught them on a bad day...still looking for a place like The Tee Pee.

They boast of over 100 tequillas and authentic mexican food, but the shots are $8 for upper mid grade, margarita's with top shelf are ridulously priced and are splashed with a tequilla of your choice. The house Margaritas let you taste the tequilla, but it's bad. The food isn't bad for the latest craze of "upscale mexican cusine", but I don't know if the price matches the quality. What you are paying for are surroundings. Everyone who works there, either seemed very unhappy or gave attitude that only Highlands Ranch can give. I worked food service and I try to treat everyone with respect, as they have control over food that I am putting into my mouth, but it was tough. With the flood of "upscale" places in Highlands Ranch coming and going so quickly, you'd think that maybe Hacienda might try and be a little more competitive or at least good

If you are looking for greasy down-and dirty mexican food, you won't find it here. Sometimes that's what I'm craving. Other times, when I want a nice "clean" mexican meal, I make the trek from the Cherry Creek area (where I live), to the burbs of the burbs to eat at Hacienda. Everything is fresh, tortillas are homemade and there's no mystery in the meat. It's a nice dining experience, similar to the Pappacito's chain in Texas. Service has always been first-rate (ok, the hostesses are snippy little things, but they're probably making $6/hour, so just ignore them) and the atmosphere is inviting. I'm craving a taco al carbon right now!

I was really dissapointed with management and the way they run things. It was almost as if the employees were treating us with attitudes do to the way they were treated by management. Food quality was ok but i did like their salsa a lot.

I have dined with you many times since moving to Highlands Ranch 2 years ago. Before that I lived in the Lakewood area and dine at the other Hacienda Resturant in Littleton. Your resturant is by far better in every way and they are very good.
Please keep up the great work. A+++
Thank You,
Kevin & Vicky Jensen

We moved from Texas 2 1/2 years ago and have been looking for a good Mexican Restaurant. Hacienda Colorado is it! By far the best Mexican food we have tried in the Denver metro area. However, the hostess staff have been unremarkable and downright unfriendly at times, but the food makes up for that. Management seemed concerned when I mentioned this to them, yet every time I go, same problem.

Wow - what a great place!! Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere, food, service and Margaritas! They have an incredible Tequila selection if you're a connoisseur, and if you're not, the house frozen Margaritas are the best around. Chips, salsa and guacamole are delicious and fresh, and we've never had a bad entree - everything we've had on the menu is great - especially the burritos, enchiladas and steaks - highly recommended! They also have many great sauces to choose from to top off your entree. Treat yourself to this great restaurant that we're very lucky to have here in Denver!

Three of us tried 2 different kinds of Marqueritas at Hacienda Co. None of us were able to drink them. They were bitter and weak. The food wasn't very good either and the service was terrible as far as getting our food was concerned. The waiter was busy and did his best. Management was unconcerned about our dissatisfaction and made no offer to make amends. We will never go there again.

The first HC on Wadsworth originally didn't have much of a tequila selection - it does now and so does the Bierstadt location. Top to bottom one of the best around so forget the Marg mix - have an anejo on the rocks and enjoy. Don't know where else the tortillas are hand made by on site Duenas and aren't allowed to age longer than 20 minutes before they're eaten or tossed. One could make a meal out of the tortillas and the beans. If that's not authentic I don't know what is.

you'll which this revamped version took to heart the lesson that a little more tequila balances out a bad menu. Mountain-mex as they coin it is nothing more than tex-mex without the ketsup. Its not all bad, the gringo food is good. Their baby back ribs are delicious. But if you really want mexican food, you won't find any at the colorado hacienda.

Reviews from the other location almost made us pass this establishment by but you have to realize people have different taste and experiences. This is not the taste/quality of Chevy's (it's far better) but it does get busy in the evening. Front desk hostess lack people skills and are dry and lack emotions. We tried the Stuffed Poblano $9.89 and Admiral Guzman Shr Enchilada $10.89, at the suggestion of our waiter. Great choices and service but beans were strong smokey flavor. Drinks are rather expensive with the bottom Margarita starting at $5.29. Kid platters Los Ninos Taco is a nice deal. Decor is nice but lacks warmth. Tables are too close together, sitting you aganist a pole or being bumped by hostess while you try to eat.
