It's an extra drive from the other 24 hour Kings of Colfax (denver, toms, petes) which are close to the clubs and bars but Breakfast King is worth it. Not only is the staff polite and attentive, they are identifiable by their vintage style waitress dresses.
They get a lot of police officers, industrial workers getting their morning grub, insomniacs, the late night couples, and some drunks some times. But whoever they are, they leave you be.
The menu is very large with incredible selections including a few weight watchers dishes. They even have coney dogs! My favorite is their smothered breakfast burrito which I get every time. The food itself has always been good. I have never had a bad experience with the food here.

Pros: Cheap prices, good food, good portions, "vintage"

Cons: None!

Good diner type atmosphere and good food as well. Go here at least once a month and have not been disapointed. Staff is friendly and fast.

My husband and I only ever go to the King for breakfast. It's a bit of a ritual for us, and we started going there long before we were married. We're both Easterners, and this place reminds of us those good ol' hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon joints from back East.

The decor and atmosphere are classic. You're instantly transported back a few decades, especially when the expert waitresses speed about calling you hun and sweetie.

The breakfast food is super yummy, and my husband swears they make the best, crispy bacon. The kind where you can taste the bacon and not the frier grease. The green chile is fantastic, and I typically order a side of it a pour it over whatever breakfast I'm eating.

This is not a fancy, shiny, new place. You have to enjoy a bit of quirky and be comfortable around all kinds of people...because you will see (and sit by) all kinds. But that's part of the charm.

I used to drive by this restaurant quite often and thier parking lot was usually filled. One morning, I decided to stop for breakfast finally. I ordered a dish came with eggs, ham, hash brown, and pancakes. The food was traditional american style that was nothing special. It was good and cheap, but a little too greasy.
The service was super! If I every crave for traditional american style breakfast, I would definitely visit this place, but once I go there, I will probably not go back for a few months at least because I felt sick after eating there because of grease, but all in all, the food was good.

Pros: Breakfast with a kick

This is a place for round the clock breakfast--it is open everyday, all day. They have other items on the menu but if you stop here you should stick to the breakfast items on the menu. The coffe is good and bottomless.

This great restaurant is located at the intersection of Mississippi and Santa Fe near the old Gates Plant. It's menu is the largest and most extensive I have ever seen. I have never had a meal there that is less than great. Their specialty is as the name would indicate Breakfast. Give it a try.

We had a banner night out at various bars and pubs across Denver. Breakfast King was the perfect place to take care of that drunk hunger with some delicious home fries, french toast, or an infamous toro-pot. Late night there are, shall we say, an eclectic group of characters looking for some coffee and a place to gather their mind together. The staff was awesome in serving everyone from drunks like us to hungry cops on the beat with a smile. The food was good (what isn't at three am), and really the h:t the spot. Recommended late late night spot for a sampling of the local insomniac culture, as well as a sampling of the toro-pot. Its seriously good.

The Breakfast King has been aound for over 30 years. It operates 24 hours a day. Do not let the Breakfast name fool you. It has a vast menu of all manner of short order food as well as daily specials. The breakfasts are the specialty. And they are great. The portions are generous. The service is fast. I have never had a bad waitress here. When you are hungry, this is a great place to land

the setting takes you back to around 1970 with the wood paneling and orange seat coverings. the waitresses also have the old school hair-do's and makeup to boot. They are VERY friendly and sweet as well. now the food: i would recommend an omelette with homefries & toast (i'm from the Tri-State area and that is our go-to). The best part is they actually serve potatoes that are browned on the griddle, not the stringy potato hash browns that are common out west. I tried the Santa Fe Sunrise (kind of like Huevos R)which was topped with GreenChile and unfortunately it wasn't the best i've ever tasted (the Sunshine Cafe in Dillon has the best). So that is why i'm saying to stick to an omelette. My wife had the eggs benedict and ate the entire plate. it was loaded with hollandaise sauce which is how she likes it. We are definitley going back for more! (but staying away from the mexican-ish entrees)

Pros: old school, great service, awesome Home Fries!

Cons: they turn tables quickly so don't go there if you want to hang out all day
