I knew British people had bad teeth, bad breath, and a bad sense of fashion... now I know they have bad manners as well.

If you are a scotch aficionado, or a d-bag, or both, and really like this place then by all means continue to go here.

I personally feel that the idea of Brittish and Irish Pubs has gotten stale here in the States. I would much rather go to an American Sports bar every time. Why? Well all you need to do to open a "British" or "Irish" Pub in the U.S. is own a bunch of whiskey or scotch, sprinkle a piece of parsley on some freedom fries, and offer impeccably poor service.

Im not even going to bother telling you how the bar tender managed to provoke a verbal tussle with me within 30 seconds of walking into the door for the first time. Its just another sad, untimely, tragedy. What I will say is he is pathetic and I hope to see him and his little shortened britches held in place by suspenders on a street corner. Thats right I hope he finds himself living out on the street like the bum that he is.

The beer was exceptional but the burger was something I would expect from hamburger Stand. My wife and I went there in May and first sat in the bar area and since it was louder then we wanted asked to sit in the dining area and I thought the waitress was going to have a fit. We just want to move geez. Don't bother unless you want to sit in the bar and have a few beers!!

Went to Pints for a friend's birthday thinking we'd have a drink after dinner at a near by restaurant, big mistake! The staff was incredibly rude in general and even more so when questioned about some of the whisky on the menu (mostly because they didn't have half of them.) Further, after ordering a very unpleasant "Isle of Jura" 12yr old, they became indignant when asked to see the bottle. Being as I drink Jura as a matter of course and happen to have had the distilery of the real Isle of Jura whisky as a client I know both the whisky and the maker, I felt I had the right to inquire...what they offered was something else that calls itself by the same name by a second rate distillery. I say shame on both of them. However more than that, I say work on your customer service.

Also I might add that if you are looking for an authentic British pub experience, you won't find it here. It is no more than a theme pub with all the cliches of Britishness you will can find in any American style British or Irish pub.

Hey, you won't find Stepford style servers or bartenders here. If you want the fake smiles and vacant chit-chat greetings, then stick with Applebees. And, leave your rugrats at home. They don't belong in a serious bar. However, if you want the best selection of Scotch Whiskys in the world, then come to Pint's. Yes, their shelves are better stocked than the Chinnery Bar in the Hong Kong Mandarin Oriental. Better yet, the barmen know the Whiskys in detail and are not averse to giving you a dram or two on the house, if you show some knowledge or interest. The food is decent but that's not my reason for going here. For all you super sensitive types who feel insulted at Pint's, I agree with the owner, go somewhere else!

Pros: Scotch Whisky Scotch Whisky Scotch....

Cons: So much Scotch, so little time.

An amazing array of single malts, good beer (brewed on premise) and bartenders that can pour a proper pint. The food is above average, and they serve an American-ized fish and chips (the fish is broiled, rather than deep fried). Quirky dining areas, and authentic British pub games make it a unique gem.

Pints Pub has the best selection of scotch whiskey, but their beer is sub-par. They've been using the same yeast for years which is evidenced by the "buttery" off flavor in all of their beers. But it's a cool place to hang out and watch European Futbol.

They have one beer that I think is very good and of course you can't beat the selection of Scotch. However, I would find it painful to know that I am supporting an owner that is quite frankly an Ass. I came to him with a fairly minor request/complaint to have him basically tell me that he didn't care. Well I don't care if you GO OUT OF BUSINESS and move your ass back to wherever you came from..England! I came back another time because it is close to my work to have a similar experience with the manger. Perhaps he is the son.?

Pros: Scotch Whiskey and Beer

Cons: Owner is Apathetic as is Scott? one of the managers

I was excited to have an authentic British pub experience. I guess it was authentically British: slow and inattentive service and mediocre food. Charming atmosphere and the beer is ok. A disappointment.

Came to pints for lunch with our kids and had very average food, but the atmosphere was decent. The real problem was when the bill came our waitress charged us $2.95 each for 2 kids lemonade that came in a very small coffee mug. We paid the bill and my husband asked the owner about it on the way out and he brushed us off and said" Oh well...that's the cost of a lemonade...if you don't like it, don't come back" By the way, same price as an adult lemonade which comes in a pint glass...not a good bargain if you're a kid. No real harm done, so we decided we might go back the next week and have a beer (WITHOUT THE KIDS) and called ahead to see if the owner would be in. In a light hearted tone I said we'd prefer to come when the owner wasn't in and the manager (Scott) told me "he's always in, so don't bother coming in EVER!"
Don't worry Scott..we wont and I hope anyone reading this review will do the same.

I've had real cask beer in Denmark at a place called Cockney Pub. Had some of the best beer I've ever had there, and Pints pale ale cask beer did not compare one iota. Thought I'd try another beer from the menu, and I was disappointed with the Airdale Pale Ale, too.

Pork tenderloins medallions looked like they'd been shaved off a Hormel.

Left after two beers and average food.

Tables were sticky, and the whole place needed a thorough scrub down.

Wont' be going back.

The Pints Pub clearly indicates that it wants to be like a British pub, with a red telephone booth outside and plenty of signs and documents explaining or alluding to pub mannerisms. The dirty outdoor carpeted stairs are an indication that something is not quite right. Having been to a variety of pubs in England, I can attest to the fact that Pints pub is neither a good imitation of a British pub, nor a place that provides decent cask ale. A few sips of the ale and I had t set the beer aside and seek beer elsewhere later on. The food has a home-cooked quality to it, and tastes decent, but the portions are small and the presentation is lacking. The overall quality isn't all that great either, but some of the best bubs don't have the greatest food. And besides the poor quality of the beer, the numerous postings that tell the customers how one is to behave in a pub are highly irritating and actually ruin any potential parallels to actual British pubs.

Pros: Food was similar to homeade fare

Cons: Cask ale apparenlty stale or kept improperly, grungy

Cask conditioned beer. Largest selection of single malt scotches in the US of A. Good (but not great) food. Cool building. English phone booth in front. Friendly service. I'm a fan....

I may be biased at this point, since I've lived in Denver for nine years and have been going to Pints for that long. Pints is one of the few bars in Denver that doesn't carry nasty, watered down beers. Everything on tap is original and cask-conditioned. The place is a labor of love by a guy who wanted to recreate the British pub concept here. It isn't for people who crave Coors Light! But far, far and away, aside from the excellent beer and liquor menu, the best reason to come here is for the amazing crisps...they are addictive. So, even though I am not a fan of English cuisine, that is one snack I now cannot do without.

This Pub has been around for years. It is located by the downtown Denver Public Library. They have a awesome list of single malt Scotch - one the best in the US. Great beer brewed on the premises. The food is above average. A little pricey but worth the stop.

Good service, good food! Been here several times and have been very pleased with everything. The food is good standard bar food. The beer selection and price is great. Service is attentive and quick. They cater to the lunch crowd during the week, which is nice since I work right by it. You can get in, order, eat, and walk out all fairly close to within 30-40 minutes. Prices are reasonable too!

I hate to say it as I generally can find favor in most beers....but I tried 2 this evening and the Pale and IPA were both horrible. The Pale had a buttery taste which is a sign of high Diacetyl (not good). I really wanted to like the beer since it was brewed onsite, but unfortunately I did not. This is a fun quirky place with great scotch selection and whiskeys, but hopefully they can get the beer figured out in the near future.

We were excited to try out Pints for lunch since we heard good thigs about it. Service was good and lunch went by OK. We were told by our waitress to pay at the bar. When we got there we pass three credit cards and told the manager to split the bill evenly. He started saying he could only split it in two, using a very rude language and pointing to some "policy" in the menu (written in gothic font) which in turn made us angry and very surprised. We couldn't believe how in the 21st century a bill can't be split 3 ways...the manners on the manager were unbelievable, he was mocking us. We had to use only two cards...We are never going back!!!

We received exceptionally rude service when we went to the bar to pay. It was surprising since the new waitress had been helpful and friendly. The guy at the bar checkout was so exceptionally abrupt and rude we had no choice but to give no tip. We were not aware of the policy the place has to not split bills more than two ways, and the barman chose to tell us this in an exceptionally rude way.

The "British" style food here is moderate to poor, with the sausages rather dissapointing.

So parking in the area is kind of hard because of all the pay parking lots since its near the jail and in downtown, but one nice thing is that since Pints owns Dozens restaurant across the street, the Dozens restaurant parking lot is free game if you are going there in the evening, problem is there arent alot of parking spots, so either be lucky, or live within walking distance. So generally the help there is pretty nice people, the few times Ive been there the staff is pretty knowledgable and polite....So I ordered Fish&Chips, thinking it would be great, since its a pub and all, but no, its just a medium piece of decent ( not fabulous) piece of salmon, a tray of skinny fries, and a salad made out of iceberg, for $8.45! I can say that what I ate, not only in flavor but in portion, it was not worth the money, I was left hungry even after I was done. So thats my take on the place, its ok, not the place I would care to go for drink specials and good affordable food, but a decent place for hanging out with friends.

Pint's has become a favorite spot for my wife and I to enjoy an evening dram or a nightcap after a show. The "ruling class cheese and crackers" is excellent as an appetizer, and the burgers are good too. Best of all is the selection of single malts.

It's kinda behind the Denver Art Museum on 13th. I'm surprised more people don't know about this place, as their brews are very good (IMHO) and they have a wall full of single malts to sample. Food is pretty good, nothing to write home about. It's a great place to kick back and forget about the mendacity of life for a spell. It just feels homey and welcoming that way. Why, oh why, don't they have growlers?? I can only quaff so many before driving home. Take heart: if you bring in your own growler (glass jug), they will fill it for you with your choice of house brew.

Pint's is one of those places that can only be described as "quirky." It has been there for years, and this is entirely evident from the guy who seats you, he reminds my girlfriend of Lurch from the Adams Family. The whisky selection there is impressive. They brew beer that is very mediocre. The food is ok, burgers are great. They use these black plastic plates that are really disgusting and do not make the food look appealing (presentation is important). I think that Pint's is one of those places that could be great with some better management/ownership. There are no specials and the beer is on the high side price wise. From my count, they also only have one whisky tasting per year which is pathetic for a place that claims to have the most whiskies in the world or something.

I live across the street, so I want SO bad to love this place. We have drug our friends there again and again in hopes to find a cool neighborhood bar we can enjoy so close to home. Not going to happen. So sad to say, the food is really gross. It's sad because I like the atmosphere, maybe if your super drunk the stuff will taste edible. I would like to see them do a good business because when you have a beer craving, its fun to get a drink there. But I have to be truthful to those wondering about the food quality, eat before you go. Oh, and the burgers can't even be compared to City Grille. I would prefer a McDonald's burger over Pint's and I hate McDonalds.

Pints Pub is the class of burger joints in Downtown Denver. I know Citygrille gets rave reviews BUT I suspect that the people that give rave reviews to Citygrille have never actually EATEN THERE. I eat out EVERY DAY in Downtown Denver and I spread my business around so you could say I know Downtown food and i have the belly to prove it! Pints Pub is clearly the class of the affordable pub grub. Their Burgers are affordable and first class, and the service is even better! Order Iced tea and they bring you a pitcher unlike many other restaurants that rely on an overburdened waitress to MAYBE refill you while you choke down your food without liquid. In 12 years of daily dining downtown experience, Pints Pub is at the top of my list when it comes to Burgers!

One of my favorite haunts. Better and more unique than typical bar food. Excellent liqour selection. If nothing else, have their stew and a pint of guinness when it's cold and snowy outside.

This review is LONG overdue. Pints Pub is a Denver gem. Serving British pub fare, microbrews and whiskey on tap, Pints offers casual ambience with a flare. Be sure to try Pint's Bangers and Mash or their Shepherd's stew. Both are excellent, especially on chilly nights. You can also warm up quickly with a smooth glass of whiskey - choosing which kind might be tricky, as they have an extensive collection on tap. Pint's beer will also warm up hollow spot - try one of their microbrews.
Pint's food may not be right on the nose as far as authenticity goes, but that might be a good thing! Right!

We lived in England for 4 years and agree with what most everyone says, from ratings 3-10 for this place. The staff could be a bit more friendly, not that English pubs are friendly to non-locals. The Whiskey list is un-ending and better than any you will find in Scotland, the beer menu is good as well. The menu needs work - people expect cod/plaice fish&chips with some Sarson's malt vinegar, salad cream and a Whimpy with some HP Brown sauce! How about a beef & guiness pie, bubble & squeak, shepard's pie? They do serve a good shandy.......

Everything I've tried at Pint's has exceeded my culinary expectations, from the ale (try the Phonebox Amber or Gaelforce Ale) to the wings! The burgers (wimpys) are some of the best I've had anywhere, with a genuinely beefy flavor, outstanding REAL cheese options (dill havarti, cheddar, smoked mozzeralla, etc.), and a free pickle/pepper mini-bar, at your table, allowing for endless customization of the perfect wimpy! The bangers and mash shouldn't be missed, nor should the apple smoked pork loin!

The pub fare is excellent, though not truely english. The local brews are good, but where Pints shines is in it's collection of Single Malts. The largest collection in North America. The atmosphere doesn't hurt either.

Whenever I'm in Denver I make a point to drop in at Pints. It's warm, cozy, and has a great selection of drinks, including an offering of its own beers. There's no better place in Denver to sit back and enjoy being with your friends. I've only eaten there once and the food was not particularly memorable.
