No better place to buy great Asian groceries. I love to buy gifts of ceramics and lacquer here, and origami books and supplies.

Pacific Mercantile carries so many of the Pacific Rim foods my husband misses from Hawaii. You can find Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Philippino, Korean, Hawaiian, and more treats. Frozen, fresh, refrigerated and dry ingredients. Also a wonderful section of tableware, kitchen items, and origami paper.

I found out about Pacific Mercantile while lamenting to a friend about how much I missed Angelo Pietro's salad dressings from Hawaii. That's just the beginning of what this incredibly convenient asian supermarket has to offer. From fresh vegetables like daikon radishes to sweet rice bean cakes or li hing moi. Aisles of noodles and sauces and freezers full of a variety of traditional asian dishes.

Pros: Centrally Located

I actually placed an order online for this store since they are the only supplier I have found of pineapple mochi and Dekavita C from Japan.
There was a problem emailing their customer service when I needed to change my shipping options but when I called the store, they immediately found my order and shipped it the same day. The woman I spoke with was unbelievably nice and helpful.
I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Pros: Lots of hard-to-find Japanese foods / Great service!

Unlike many cities on the west coast, Denver doesn't have an especially significant population of oriental Asians. However, we have a little eastern gem in our cow town chock full of caucasian, african and latin americans. Even a gaijin (somewhat derogatory Japanese slang for us predominant "round eyes") like
myself is welcome, comfortable, and excited to shop at Pacific mercantile. If you're cooking an Asian meal and need ingredients/supplies you just can't find at the yup stores (e.g. Whole Foods, Wild Oats - don't get me wrong, I shop there too), then mosey on over here. Note that it's in the same 'hood as Akebono, a nice Japanese/sushi restaurant at Sakura Square. Patronize diversity, support choice, and try something different!
