THUMBS DOWN to Mil HI Aeration : Liquid Aeration  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I had the liquid aeration done in my front and backyard by Mile Hi. I religiously watered and did what I needed to do for my lawn. I expected a beautiful healthy green lawn. I got a dead lawn...a deader than dead lawn! Also, I had 12 bushes between my home and my neighbors home and they died as well. I have huge bare spots in my front and back yards. I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to nurse the lawn back to good health and to grow. It has been 2 and a half months and I am barely getting there. My other 2 complaints would be that MIle Hi sent to guys who did not speak english to my home. They did not let me know they were there but I happened to be told by a furniture delivery guy that 2 guys just walked into my backyard. They had no identifying logos or vehicle with a logo that identified MIle HI. In any case, they began spraying and were gone in less than ten minutes! I called out to the guys but they kept walking. I walked to them and began asking them questions but they could not respond with more than, " I don't know!" It was bizarre. Yet, they get a sign out of their vehicle and want to put it in my yard. I refused. I called the Mile HI office and I got a rude female who did not want to hear my concerns and did not want to hear about how upsetting it was to not be able to communicate with the service people to ask or share any concerns with them. I made up my mind then that I will not use their service again and most recently filed a complaint with the BBB.

Fungus Among Us!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

We used Mile Hi Aeration a long time ago. They gave us a lawn fungus, front & back yard. I notice many of my neighbors had it. I spoke to a handful of my neighbors and asked if they used Mile Hi to aerate their lawn, the answers were 100% YES! When I called and told them what the problem was, they said I would receive a phone call regarding my complaint. I called them 3 more times, they NEVER retuned any one of my phone calls. Save yourself and don't use them!

Terrible Service  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Mile Hi killed our lawn when they performed the liquid aeration. They say they guarantee their work but they don't I have never received a refund and now I have to fix my sod.

Poor Service  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I first hired Mile Hi for the convenience and the mass marketing the company achieves. In 2007, I contracted them to perform aeration and seeding. Weeks prior to the delivery date, I fertilized. Mile Hi came out and aerated as well as fertilized...NOT seeding as I contracted. The result was over fertilization and burns in the grass.I thought I would give them one more chance in the Spring of 2008. Over three weeks, they failed to show up (THREE TIMES!). Furthermore, I would sit on hold for over 20 minutes before speaking to a live person. After the third attempt to complain to their management (Crystal), I gave up. It seemed that I would be placed into her voice mail each time with no call back....ever. Additionally, emails to the company via their web page yielded no return follow-up/ call.Do not give this organization your time or money.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

NEVER USE THIS SERVICE!! Not only was the aeration incomplete (very few visible plugs) they tore up the landscaping path moving the machine to and from the front and back yard. Not only that, they broke 2 landscaping lights and displaced several rocks. I called to complain and was told I would receive a call back which of course I didn't. This spring they contacted me via e-mail to do the service again and I responded with a complaint about the service in the fall, again no response. To make matters worse, we just tried to turn on our sprinklers on after Mile Hi Services blew them out last fall....turns out I paid for a service that was never done...our sprinkler system is broke.

Below Average Company  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I've used Mile Hi for a couple years simply because of the convenience. However, even after watering my lawn well the night before, the aeration was consistently poor. The laborers also missed fairly big parts of the lawn. Not to mention the annoying phone calls! I've never had any really big problems with them but there are much better lawn service companies out there.

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BLOWS  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I USED TO WORK IN THE CALL CENTER THAT THEY HAVE AND I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE OFFICE MANAGER WAS LAZY AND VERY RUDE. SHE ONLY CARED ABOUT HERE SELF AND WHAT WAS GOING ON IN HER WORLD AND NOT WAS GOING ON IN THE CUSTOMERS WORLD. SHE WAS NOT AT ALL A CALL CENTER MANAGER. I USED TO GET YELLED AT BY THE CUSTOMERS AND I TRIED AND TRIED TO MAKE THEM HAPPY AND THERE WAS NO END TO IT. THE PEOPLE WOULD CALL IN AND TELL AT ME AND I WAS SUPPOSE TO HELP THEM WHEN IN FACT WHEN I FIRST STARTED THERE THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT AT ALL THAT IT WAS THE MANAGER'S JOB TO DEAL WITH THOSE TYPE OF CALLS. WRONG I HAD TO. I WOULD BE THE ONLY PERSON ON THE PHONES WITH EVERY ONE ELSE DOING SOME THING ELSE THAT DIDN'T DEAL WITH WORK. I AM SORRY FOR THE CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THOSE PEOPLE AND I AM SORRY IF I HAD TO TALK WITH YOU WHEN YOU WERE UPSET THAT THOSE NONE SPEAKING MEXICANS COULDN'T DO A GOOD JOB. THIS PLACE IS THE WORSE JOB I HAVE EVER WORKED FOR IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE. GO SOME PLACE ELSE. I WOULD HEAR PEOPLE CALL BACK SO MANY TIME TO TALK TO THE MANAGER AND THEN SHE WOULD SAY PUT IT TO VOICE MAIL I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO THEM RIGHT NOW. THAT COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND CLOSED. THEY PROPL HAVE THE MEXICANS THAT ARE FROM MEXICO WORKING THERE WITH OUT THERE GREEN CARD.... SORRY I WOULDN'T TAKE MY BUSINESS THERE IF YOU PAID ME

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST I'VE EVER DEALT WITH!!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Last spring we had Mile High out to do our aeration again as we have had for many years. They sold us on adding the fertilization to our purchase. I was going to be gone when they came to do the work so they asked that I leave the check in an envelope at the front door... which I regretfully did. When I returned I found that the workers aerated but never fertilized. When I called to request that they return, they initially argued that it was fertilized "because it said so on the original order for the job." I persisted and after a couple of days did manage to talk with someone. They said they would call back to schedule the fertilization. They couldn't come out for more than 3 weeks and I requested a refund as we were getting ready to put our house on the market and needed to 'green up' our lawn. I kept getting their annoying automatic voice calls regarding the scheduling of the fertilization. I kept calling and could never get them to call me back. For the first time ever, my husband and I got so frustrated we actually yelled at then on their recording to cancel our appointment for fertilization as we had already done it and to return our money. We never got a return phone call, nor our money returned... sure, they came and fertilized when we were gone. This company even leaves yard signs promoting their company without asking permission! Here it is fall and guess what... the phone just rang and it was their annoying recording for fall services. I would never use this company again... I'd rather spend a day doing the aeration myself!

horrible job  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I tried mile hi and to say the least was not happy at all the tech was a sub contractor and had no training I know this because I bothered to ask. He completely tore up my new sod that I was told by the company could be aerated yet the machine pulled the sod off of the ground. When I called to complain put through to crystals voice mail. Anyway tried a new lawn service one that even mowed my lawn for fifteen bucks and my yard is pretty big. ( ATOUCH OF CLASS LAWN SERVICE. 303-552-7565) a week after the job was done saw someone outside my house and it was the owner of the company inspecting my lawn as a courtesy I was shocked.

Consumer champ Bill Clarke's has been hearing from irate customers. Damage, threats, and poor customer service. Those are the complaints metro area consumers have with an aerating service. Tracie and Dave Shepard are battling an aerating company named Mile Hi Services. "Dave, my husband, asked if they were going to flag the sprinkler head they said, 'Oh we do this all the time we don't need to flag 'em,'" said Tracie Shepard. Skeptical, Dave Shepard (pictured left) said he watched the technician from the window. "I saw this sprinkler head pop off. It was off to the side. When the tech was all finished, I saw him pick this up and place it right back down on there. Like nothing happened," said Dave Shepard. Unable to get repairs or reimbursement, the Shepards turned to Call 7 For Help. And that's when we uncovered a trend of complaints. Ruth Wagner of Lakewood called Mile Hi Services on a Tuesday to set up an appointment for Friday. "So I called back, and I said, 'Can you rake my yard?' (They said.) 'We don't rake yards.' I said, 'Cancel me for now,'" Wagner said. That night, Tuesday night, Ruth got a message from the company. "It said, 'We were out and aerated your lawn but you didn't pay your bill and we've turned you over to collections.'" Ruth's lawn clearly has not been aerated. So Call 7 For Help made a personal visit to Mile Hi Services' office, a non-descript building in Denver. They told us any customer who's complaining about being sent to collections is the result of an error, or that the customer is lying to get out of paying their bill. As for damage, like the Shepard's case, Mile Hi told us it never guarantees it won't damage sprinklers and any damage done is not Mile Hi's problem. "They've lied to me, they've avoided my phone calls, they've put me off, they were rude to me, and I knew if I didn't do something," said Tracie Shepard. "They could care less. So it's one of those things other people need to know about." Mile Hi Services is now working with Call 7 For Help to resolve issues that come through our office. However, more than 70 consumers have complained to the Better Business Bureau. Mile Hi tells us that's an "acceptable" number. As for getting those complaints resolved, Mile Hi Services also told us it DOES NOT "kiss up" to its customers.

Horrible Company  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I think they have someone writting these "good" reviews. This company is crap. They did a half ass job, and after we told them to come out again and fix it, they did a half ass job a second time. My wife has had nothing but trouble with their "customer service". Crystal the Supervisor is an idiot and so are the other people that work there. Stay away from these guys and just do it yourself. I'll be sure to remove all signs that I see to make sure they receive as little business as possible.

Consistently Poor Performance and NO Customer Service  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I've used Mile Hi for years because they're so convenient. The only trouble is, the work, if done at all, is always terrible. They burned my lawn with too much fertilizer one year, then denied they had done it. I thought, "OK, I can do my own fertilizer" and never got that service again. Last year they only aerated the front lawn, not the back or sides. This year I called them again, and left the gate open in case they had mistakenly thought it was locked. This year they did nothing at all except repeatedly dun me for payment. (The check was under the front door mat--per their instructions.) Repeated calls and emails were not returned. I finally got someone who would talk to me, but all he could offer was to reschedule. He didn't seem to understand why I was upset that I keep getting billed for work that wasn't done and that no one had responded to multiple voice mail and email messages from me. So, they've finally found my "break point" and I've figured out I need a lawn service that actually does the work.

Mile-Hi Aeration  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I should have checked out these reviews before hiring this company to clean my gutters. They took my check for $45, destroyed my front gutter, didn't clean the other 2 gutters at all and then refused to return phone calls or resolve the problem in any way. They have caused $400 in damage to my house and didn't even finish the job they were hired to do. I have never in my LIFE been treated like this by ANY company. I am shocked they are still in business. We are filing a small claims suit and having our home owners insurance deal with them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

BRAVO MILE HI SERVICES/ KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK  5 Star Rating - World class

I LOVE MILE HI SERVICES, AS THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ALL OF MY HOME SERVICES FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS.

I chuckle as I am sure Mile Hi does when I see things like "breaking invisible fences" THEIR INVISIBLE. for goodness sake! How is that a legitimate consumer complaint? I think alot of these complaints are bogus. I really feel all of these complaints are upset competitors trying to make it hard for Mile Hi instead of just doing what Mile Hi does and that is GO OUT AND DO GREAT WORK FOR PEOPLE. at a great price. if you have a problem I am sure they will take care of you. I heard the owner on Martino radio not long ago and he explained that he does not respond to BBB complaints because he is not a paying member, so if any of you have complained though the BBB that is why you have not gotten it resolved. Call Mile Hi if you have a problem with Mile Hi. Don't call 7 for help or Martino. Call Mile Hi.... just a thought

Mile-Hi Aeration  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I tended to agree with Joe R as to where this company came from? We had them come out to do our yard a year ago, they didn't complete the job fully. So, we called them back to do the back yard, which was part of the initial agreement when payment was made. It took us over 5 or 6 calls to Mile-Hi to even address the concern regarding completion of THE INITIAL JOB! That's UNACCEPTABLE when they received the payment upfront to do the whole yard. Their excuse was 'We could hear a dog in the backyard'. Of course they could, but it was our next door neighbors dog in there yard with a FENCE IN BETWEEN. We'll never give them the pleasure of our business again, or 'word of mouth' referral. They have the most unusual mode of getting their advertising out by plastering the whole neighborhood with flyers taped to your front door at least every seasonal change. Sorry guy's they don't win any points with our household.

PROS: hard to think of any????

If there is a good review on this company, it must be the owner or an employee writing it. They didn't show up the day they said they would, so I called to cancel. Then they said I didn't cancel within 24 hours???? They didn't show up on me and I didn't cancel within 24 hours? I have called several times and wait..just to leave a message that's never returned. They are now trying to collect on work that was never done. DO NOT USE THEM and please post attorney info so I too can participate in a suit.

Great Service  5 Star Rating - World class

They came and aerated my lawn when they said they would and it was great. I've been using them for years, and never had a problem. I don't have to wait around all day for them since I don't have to be home. Very convenient! Highly reccomend!

I am also struggling with Mile Hi. With all of the "watch dog" type agencies, how is a business like this still running? These people need to be shut down. I keep reading more and more complaints about others who have or are currently being harassed and threatened. Who can help stop this??? Work not completed, phone calls unanswered, and the consumer gets screwed? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MILE HI

I had my yard done today and what a MESS!
they left dirt EVERYwhere in my driveway and sidewalks scached up my sidewalk cracked a water sprinker head.... i called the office when i got home waited 5mins on hold to talk to a very rude person telling me i didnt pay a cleaning fee?????? so they can leave my driveway and sidewalks in a mess? IF U USE THIS BUSINESS BEWARE!!!!!

PROS: they will get to ur house fast

We recently had their services performed on our lawn:
1. The employees did not speak one word of English. They did not know even basic vocabulary to do their job -- we told them we had marked the sprinklers and they just ran right over them with the machine, costing us about $25 in broken sprinkler heads. We even yelled "STOP!!!" and they just nodded at us.
2. They destroyed our back path, pulling the debris out of their machine and dumping it on our lawn. More money we had to pay out of pockets to repair their damage.
3. We stopped payment on the check (that cost us $13) and called customer service almost a dozen times without one call back.
4. Our bill went to collections, and an automated phone call arrives every single day at the same time.
5. We have secured an attorney and contacted the media -- there are more bad reviews on this company than on any other lawn service company yet their website still claims to have loyal customers? Who, their mothers???

Please send them a message and put them out of business - they do not deserve to remain at large!!

People you only pay $35.00 Seriously this is not service on a Lexus  5 Star Rating - World class

I have used Mile Hi Aeration for 10 years. I have an expensive home and yard to boot. I have had 2 problems with the company. Once breaking a sprinkler head and another time a screen broken with the window service. Both times the problems were fixed. It took some time, but they did get around to me. If you don't water the night before your plugs are crap. Can you not read? If you need something done that is specific to your lawn, let the person know. It is only $35 once or twice a year. This is not service on your car and to do a whole write up about how bad a place is based on that price, then you need to get a life. Seriously.

They cashed my check but still harassed  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

They cashed my check two weeks ago but I still get the
automated telephone voice demanding payment! Good luck getting through! I rue the day I ever had anything to do with them! I am incessantly bombarded with their messages on my e-mail and cell phone. I am following up with a complaint to the Denver BBB.

I've used this company for a 2 yrs. and have not had a problem until now....the job was not even 1/4 complete and I have tried 4 times to get this resolved. I've been connected 2 times w/Angela's voice mail, the person who handles the complaints, who has yet to return my calls. It's been almost 3 weeks since the job was done 3/17. I will be complaining to BBB and will be driving to place of business. I hope to get the job redone or my money back.

Worst Aeration ever AND phone calls to boot!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Did our lawn two years in a row and did the worst job ever - twice! Fool me twice, shame on me. Had to finally block their phone numbers since no one ever answers when I call back. Super convenient - they call you incessantly with the auto dialer, but when you call them they bury you in phone mail H*LL so that you can't talk to anyone. Plugs were a maximum of an inch to an inch and a half and they came out a few days after a week long rain! I finally complained to the Better Business Bureau. Be sure to look at the BBB site to see more complaints about their service.

CONS: Auto dialer, poor service, no answer when you call to complain

Prompt, Courteous, and Efficient  4 Star Rating - Very good

Mile Hi aeration signs are all over the metro area. Give them a call, they do a great job for a reasonable price. They also offer other yard services like winterization and fertilization. They are easy to work with and get to your house quickly. Some may not like their grassroots advertising - yard signs and recorded calls about being in your neighborhood - but they are actually great reminders that it's time for some maintenance.

PROS: Metro-area wide, market price, many services
CONS: Recorded phone calls, especially if you really hate telemarketing
