I had recently had to sign over one of my dogs to Planet Pet because he was ill and I could'nt afford care that did'nt allow a payment plan.I My dog was placed in a new home in a 3 wk. period and I was told that all that was wrong with him was allergies to the food he was eating. My other dog (his mother) needed some dental work and an eyelid tumor removed the manager who I had worked with on the other dog told me that Animal Planet would cover my vet bill if I agreed to be filmed and she saw Dr. Jeff but he did not take her weight, take her temp.or listen to her heart and lungs with a stethoscope nor did he use an otoscope on her ears(she had a yeast infection)or look into her eyes with the proper instrument he just looked with his eyes and said her eyes had genetic issues and that her eyelid tumor wasn't worth removing(it was making her eye tear badly)he said he could do her dental that weekend(it never happened)Planned Pethood plus said they had no record of my dog being seen on Oct.6,2015 after weekly calls to them and Planet Pet with no return of my calls or messages left, when I did get through I was told to contact the vet ,the vet said to contact the rescue ,now as of Dec14th 2015,i find out the manager of Planet Pet is no longer working there and to contact the new manager I talked briefly to her and she told me she would contactthe old manager and call me back in 30 minutes(that didn't happen).I called again on Dec.17th. and was told she wouldn't be in until Monday the 21st.of Dec.(still no response)as of Dec.22nd.I feel like I was scammed and now I don't know how to get my dog the services she needs. She is my Diabetic Alert Service Dog and I ca'nt lose her too.

Do NOT take your pet here! Here are the reasons:\r
1. Unlicensed vets, check Dept of Regulatory agencies website. There are 2 presently listed on their business card that have no listing with DORA to practice veterinary medicine. \r

I read that they put a 5 month old disabled puppy to sleep even though someone had adopted it and was ready to give it the care needed. How could they do that to someone? Why wouldn't you give him a chance? I'm glad I have a great vet!!

While Dr. Young's work around the world is to be admired, his reputation is being undermined by his rude, unaccommodating and inefficient staff.

***WARNING*** If you care for your pets life...DONT TAKE IT HERE!!! I brought my dog and cat here yesterday to get spayed and neutered and an hour and a half after dropping them off I got a call saying that both dog and cat died. No BS.

I would recommend Planned Pethood to anyone Pet Parent on a budget. Granted the schedule for drop offs for neutering is a little difficult with certain work schedules, but the care you receive for the money is exceptional. I took my dog

I don't know what the issue is with the people who complain about the service--frankly, they've been nothing but nice to me.

That's not what matters, though. What matters is that they provide PHENOMENAL care for my Jinx at an extremely affordable rate.

Granted, he's never had surgery there so I don't know their pain management policy, but I've been there when I see people picking up their animals after being spayed/neutered and it seems to be "give your pet 24 hours on his own and if he/she needs meds, come back" which seems reasonable enough.

I've just gotten a cat from Dumb Friends League who had been spayed that day and she was perfectly fine. She had a take home dose of painkiller which I didn't even give her (she was already running around).

I honestly can't say enough good things about PP+. They were there for me after another vet provided absolute horrible care and I have to say, my cat owes his life to Planned Pethood Plus.

When my other cat needs care, she'll go there, too.

Pros: Great care, GREAT customer service

Cons: None

.

I had the worst experience I have ever had at any vets office and I have been a dog owner for 12 years. They have horrible customer service at all levels-from the vets themselves on down to the front desk staff. Do not waste your time or money. Even if you think you are going to be saving money by going here, you won't. They misdiagnosed my dog and $600 later I just ended up going back to my old vet and having to spend the money all over again to get a real vet clinic to tell me what was actually wrong with my dog and who could answer my questions and return my phone calls. The absolute worst.

Cons: Really horrible staff and vets

The idea behind inexpensive care for you pet is a great one. However, I have found (after adopting a pet from Planned Pethood) that the front office staff were not at all friendly when trying to make appointments for the future care of this pet. I felt as if I was a nuisance every time I called for a prescription refill. Finally getting frustrated with there apparent lack of helpfulness and choosing a new vet, when asked if they could please fax records to the new vet, they had no record of my dogs ever being a patient there! After several years, I decided to try them again. This time, I found that when I was scheduling surgery for my pet, you had to "request" post operative pain management (for an additional fee). How could that be humane? Post operative pain management an option? Upon asking around, people were quick to share their opinion to not take my pet there to be operated on. There were several questions/concerns that some of the "veterinarians" there were not licensed in the US and perhaps were not even true physicians. Many pet owners explained to me how their pets were traumatized after being operated on there, and would tremble just walking by. Could it be that the poor pet associated the place with terrible post operative pain that was inappropriately managed? The pain management that was possible not even offered up to the owner, therefor unknowingly didn't have the resources available (medication) to give their pet? I will never go there again and would never recommend it to others.
