When I first bought my house I had Major come out and double check my heating system. The Technician showed up on time and did a very thorough job. In fact they caught that my water heater was failing and leaking carbon monoxide into the room at a dangerous level! (This was overlooked by the inspector only a few days before.) The Technician informed me of what my options were and showed me how and why he got the readings that condemned my unit. I liked that he did that because so often in sales i feel that the sales man is ""Up selling""(i know i used to be one) Given the fact that i checked the information that Major gave me on Google and confirmed that my water heater was no longer safe I had Major install a Rinnai for me. They were fairly priced and completed the installation in a timely manor.
I needed them to come out and check to see what was wrong with my furnace. The latest they will come out and look is between 2 - 4pm. I had to take a few hours off work to have them over. At about 3:50 they called to tell me they were 25 minutes away but that they would try to hurry. They didn't call me again until 4:25. At that point I had already called a company that cares about my time.
Today we had scheduled a tune up for our furnace between 8 and 830 am. We received a phone call stating that he was on his way. He shortly arrived right at 8 am. I was pleased so far. However, after waiting while he dinked around in his truck he finally came up to the door and told us he left his tools and would need to go and get them, and that he'd call us when he was heading back over. By 9 we hadn?t heard anything. Then he showed up, w/o a phone call. After some more dinking around in the truck he finally got in the house! Once we got to the furnace he then needed a light bulb. About an hour and a half later he finally got everything tuned up! He went out to his truck and dinked around some more before he came in to tell us our total. We had a teaser rate tune up coupon for 59 dollars but thanks to his dinking he added an extra 45 dollars for the extra half hour, then proceeded to tell us that everything is working great except for some belt that would soon need replaced, to continue to state that our furnace is old and would die on us. (oxymoron) While eating lunch (11am) we noticed it was pretty cold. So we called the company and told them the furnace is not kicking on. The front desk said they?d have the tech back out. Had to call back immediately to find out when he?d be back. The tech could be there with in a half our. After waiting 25 minutes we proceeded down to the furnace and turned the knob from pilot to on. Called the company back and told them never mind. Not once did we get an apology for the poor costumer service, our tech never introduced himself and he left with our light bulb. Oh what a Monday!
Pros: Showed up early
Cons: Had to leave to go get all of his tools
