We went there at happy hour, and we only bought appetizers, but it was still WAY over priced. We ended up spending $40.00 for four people (it would have been $80 had we gone when it wasn't Happy Hour). The food was great, and it was the first time that I had fondue and I must admit, it was a great experience. The waiter was patient, and came around to our table often, even though it was very full. Our food came quickly, and there was virtually no wait.

Love this place. Perfect for a nice relaxing meal while walking the pearl street mall. Very kid friendly. Great menu choices for vegetarians. Sit outside on a warm day and watch the buskers perform!

Everyone seems to love this place but I think it's just okay. The food is standard and the service is standard. The plus is the great outdoor patio on the Pearl Street Mall for people watching.

This used to be a great spot, but has gone downhill sharply over the past six months. Last time we were there, the service was surly, slow, and got our order wrong (I mean bringing the entirely WRONG entree) not just once, but twice. My wife was through eating by the time I got my food. I talked to the manager, who said he would call me, but never did. Save your money and go to Brasserie 1010. The service there is great, the food much better, and prices about the same.

Pros: Location

Cons: everything else

As a long time patron of the Boulder Cafe I can't believe some of these other reviews! Clearly just a disgruntled employee and someone who arrived too late for Happy Hour. They do always cut off Happy Hour promptly at 6:00 but the server always gives us the courtesy of a last call, and given the great happy hour deals I can't blame them for being strict. My Grey Goose martini is less than $5.
We love going for dinner and brunch, too. They have one of the best hollandaise sauces I have ever tasted and you can get it on the benedict at brunch or on salmon oscar at dinner - absolutely amazing! We love the place and hope to have many more great meals there.

Cons: Crowded on Friday Happy Hour

Boulder Cafe is awful

Not only is the food and service awful, and the prices outside are terrible, but the kitchen is unsanitary! Take it from someone who used to work there if you are concerned about getting some disease do NOT eat there. The kitchen staff does not clean the area with sanitzier after cutiing raw meat, they use hot water only and then cut vegtables, no one washes there hands, the ice is uncovered and carried in buckets that contained other foods, also server pick food from customers plates before they go out without washing there hands belive me this is the most disgusting place I have ever workerd at.

Pros: 1/2 Beer Wine and Liquor 3-6

Cons: The only thing worse than the service is the food

.

This is a fun place to go on a lazy weekend. The food is great, and it's a great location right off of pearl street. I think the night life is fairly active as well.

Boulder cafe will always have business because of it's convenient location; which may be the reason the servers are so careless and slow. I have been to this place about 10 times, and have never had quick or helpful service. The servers are rushed and never encourage questions. These serves are only "order takers" and do not appear to care about making a customer feel valued. One time the service was so poor we had to talk to management, which also failed at impressing my group. The food is decent and a good happy hour. If you don't have high expectations for service it may be the place for you, but if you want a valuable dining experience, your better off at a McDonalds.

Pros: Good Happy Hour

Cons: Poor poor service and high cost

As a regular customer I've always recommended friends and family to Boulder Cafe's seemingly great happy hour deals that are extended to 7pm. But, after a horrible experience last night I'm not sure I'll ever partake in my favorite after work activity there again.

The happy hour special was not extended to us by a misunderstanding and we had to endure a grueling argument with our waiter and two different managers who not only cursed at us, but did not even care to listen or try to entice us to come back. Upon telling the managers that we were regulars, they commented "so is everyone else" and went on to tell us that we were probably going to leave there extremely unhappy, but there was nothing they could or were willing to do.

The service has never been stellar at the Boulder Cafe, but on this occasion they showed an utter lack of respect and care for their customers.

Pros: Great Happy hour deals

Cons: Terrible service, unknowledgeable/unfriendly and slow service, even more unfriendly management

Boulder Cafe is a great choice for a relaxed lunch, their seasonal soups are always worth a try. The white chicken chili is delicious, prices are very reasonable for the mall. Staff is friendly and chatty, you can have lunch at the bar if you're looking to get in and out at a quick speed. Large variety of menu options, something for every taste.

We had breakfast here and the food and service were fine. This place is nothing special, but there is nothing wrong with it. It's in the Pearl Street Mall, so it is convenient if you are walking around there.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Not exciting

I really enjoy the food at the Boulder Cafe and the location historical on the walking mall. The Happy Hour is great because of the fondues and the fresh seafood bar, including several kinds of oysters. I love the desserts, especially the Guiness chocolate cake. Their Sunday brunch is superior. There are various Benedicts, but I like the one with blue corn flour tortills stuffed with shrimp, topped with poached eggs and a touch of chile in the hollandaise sauce. They also have wild game, fresh fish and lots of seasonal produce, and include vegetarian items on the menu.

Boulder Cafe has an appealing menu and nice ambiance, particularly on the outdoor patio. The service, however, is uninformed and woeful. When we noted that items did not even approach matching the menu description, we were told that that's the way they prepare the dish. Questions are unwelcome, and service uninformed. Fails to meet expectations.
