Animal Hospital of Colorado, specifically Dr Boehmer , you will find no better Vet to treat and solve your animal.s issues. He is straight forward and I suspect many people cant deal with that. I love it! I always know where I stand and what will happen when I bring my animals to him.I always know he will do everything possible to save their lives. I trust his knowledge completely. We brought our parvo pup here and we know she would have not made it under anyone else's care. Well informed, accessible and a no nonsense approach is what you get with Dr Boehmer and his staff. He saves lives and explains all the care. He saves lives!

I adopted a puppy three weeks ago and took him in for his free check-up, the staff was fantastic very caring and strait to the point with information. I have been to a number of other clinics in town over the last 30 years, There prices are middle of the road but there attention to detail is very high. This is important to me as my pets are family and that is how he was treated here. Fabulous care would definitely would recomend to anyone looking for quality care.

This place is really expensive. I got a coupon for a free visit my "free" visit cost me about $75. I went back to get his booster shots and I asked about a cough my dog had and he said its no issue. Another $95 that day. The next day our dog was really sick and so I took him to another vet. They recommended that because he did not address the issue that I should try to get Dr Boehmer to treat my dog at a discounted rate since he had missed it in the first place. I went back to his office and he seemed really mad that I would dare go to another vet. He treated my dog and charged me $80. He is careless and expensive. He charges you for an office visit even if it just the vet tech giving them a booster shot. So be prepared to pay $49 for an office visit and about $25 per vaccine. Also we had gotten a coupon for half off spay and neuter. Turns out he prices his more than twice the price of any other vets I call. So his half off is more than most vets regular rates. A word of advice The humane society sells coupons for neutering for about $55 and gives you a list of vets who accept them.

Hello I just stumbled across this site and wanted to comment because I read a comment Marianne M. I have had my golden retriever at a number of vets to address his allergies none of which did an adequate job as a matter of fact he was so poorly handeled at Country Side Animal Clinic I thought I might lose him. He was on steroids for months it was awful. I was refered by an acquitance to Animal Hospital of Colorado after spending weeks getting him of the steroids and running a few tests finding out he had a thyroid problem which is now controlled he is fine. YES you may pay a little more initially but in the long run it is much cheaper to have knowledgeable competent people taking care of your dog. The staff there is great and I would highly recomend them.

We adopted a puppy from a puppys voice rescue. we live all the way in greeley so we had planned for our sophies vet to be here. Sophie became extrememly ill and when i took her to the local vet they said she was going to die. I could attempt to put her in their care at a cost of 5-7 thousand dollars no guarentee she would even survive. I called the rescue and they had me rush her to their vet. He took her in and was hopeful as he works with rescues and has experience in very sick puppies. I was updated daily. Even after all this plus sophie being fixed she still LOVES going to the vet because all the staff is so wonderful to her. the rescue covered her bills and he saved her life. Is he more expensive? YES I look at it as donating back to the wonderful rexscue that saved sophie TWICE and gave her to us. Is he almost an hour each way? YES Is he wotrth all the time and money ? YES no doubt!!

While the veterinarian is extremely caring, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable it was EXTREMELY expensive. I had gone there after adopting my puppy from Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue, since it was where they had taken my puppy for his initial shots and de-worming (and it was right around the corner). But when I was charged $140 for the first and $116 on our second visit for 2 booster shots each, I cringed! I received the same, if not better care at Countryside animal hospital at Timberline and Horsetooth at just over half the price! While I can't argue as to the very caring and knowledgeable nature of this veterinarian, it just isn't worth the price for me.

We have been using Animal Hospital of Colorado since we adopted our dog 2 years ago. Their skill and knowledge is second to none. There staff is fantastic and also very knowledgeable. You will not find a finer vet in this town. I do have to comment to the prior respondent Mel C. if your current vet said sombody made a rookie mistake this is not professional by any standard.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this clinic. Not only were they expensive, but they didn't take the time to accurately diagnose the real problem we had with our puppy. We've spent hundreds of dollars on tests and medications for giardia, which we have recently found out was not what he had at all. No wonder all the medication wasnt working.... Our new vet stated that misdiagnosing something like this was a 'rookie' mistake...... So feel free to go there if you want rookies looking after your animals.

We had our first vet visit with Dr. Eric on Friday. We rescued a puppy from A Puppy's Voice and had had no problems with her whatsoever. During the visit we were given an thorough explanation about what to expect, how to feed, etc and Dr. Eric said that if anything were to happen to call the office and if no one was there then it would directed to his cell phone. Little did we know that 4 hours later we would be making an emergency run to a 24hour clinic because our puppy was throwing up and acting very lethargic. After being tested it turns out that she has Parvo. Dr. Eric has been absolutely wonderful with this stressfull situation, he talked to the clinic vet and explained what he would like done and then the next morning we transferred her up to his clinic. He has worked with us and the rescue is now paying for her treatment, something we could not have done ($2000 a day is out of our price range). He has called us twice a day to inform us on how she's doing and I feel like he's really doing all that he can to save our puppy. Only time will tell, but I know that our puppy is in the best hands possible thanks to Dr. Eric!

I have used Dr. Boehmer for several years and have never been disappointed. He has gone above and beyond what I have ever experienced from any other vet I have dealt with. They provide excellence service in both regular check ups and in emergency situations. While not the cheapest vet around, they are by far not the most expensive. I am very happy with the quality of care recieved for my dollars spent.

We also got a puppy from poudre puppy rescue... I think it is the rescue and not the Vet. Our puppy had TONS of problems and was just really super expensive. This vet worked a lot with us and was willing to try out different things to treat a lot of the issues. We also had puppy insurance which was a nightmare to get records for, but the vet helped out a great deal with them as well. We even had one visit where she was seen and treated, but the treatment didn't take and he saw us again without charging. I felt like in general he was very interested in caring for animals, very knowledgable about a lot of things, a little quirky at times, but generally very helpful.

I have been using this vet for years, they are fantastic and go well beyond the extra mile for their patients and owners. I printed Kory K's and Cally D's version of events and showed the vet. The initial response was shock at the total disregard for the truth. He pointed out that all the rescues he deals with will treat any parvo patient for free, the owner needs to contact the rescue to make the arrangements and if the owners contact his office this is what they are told, neither of these individuals did this as I was there while the vet contacted Kory's rescue in Boulder (near where they live) they the rescue was never contacted and none of the rescues have been contacted by a Cally. I personally know how much effort this vet and his staff put in at no charge to help the rescues and their patients he is the best vet I have ever found and would recommend him to anyone. As for the other disparaging comments obviously they have not given an accurate accounting of events.

I realize that vets have to make money just like everyone else but when they completely disregard the well being of your pet and are completely rude to you it's gone way too far! We took our puppy, which we got from Poudre Puppy Rescue and had obviously not been taken care of because within a week we were at the emergency vet at two a.m. with a dog who looked like he was about to die. The reason we were there is because we had a free visit with this hospital but had to reschedule because of work and instead of telling us, the next time we called they said the free visit was forfeit. So, we didn't know he was sick at all while we were looking for somewhere else. After the emergency, we took him there because they told us he had parvo and they work with the rescue so we thought we might get some help with a 4000 dollar treatment. Instead, we were harassed by their extremely rude vet with a very cold demeanor towards animals and their owners. We were even threatened that our dog might be taken away from us and were then shooed out without being told anything and the vet did not return our phone calls for almost two days. I don't know why their vet is even in the business honestly, it certainly isnt for the animals, seems much more for the money. I was very shocked and saddened by this terrible vet hospital.

This has been our vet (for our two cats) for years, and they've always been friendly, compassionate, and done a great job. We've used them for regular checkups, as well as emergency care. Our cat Tiger developed an unusual condition (megacolon) which required careful tailoring of chronic meds to suit him, and the vet worked with us extensively until we got it sorted out ?? Tiger now takes meds three times a day, but he's still alive and happy several years later.

This place turned our new puppy down for service because we missed an appointment with him and he took it personally and refused to call us back when our puppy was dying of Parvo. The first visit to this place was worthless, since it was free, they told us nothing, meanwhile our puppy is dying of Parvo. We had to take our dying puppy somewhere else in order to safe our puppies life. When we needed a Vet at a life or death situation, this place turned us away, they were rude at the same time. I thought that Vets were supposed to be animal lovers!!!
