Downtown Denver has an energy unlike the burbs or outer reaches of Denver. It is hustle and bustle, all the times. Even the weekends do not slow it down. I love this Walgreens. It has been a part of Downtown Denver for decades. The clientele is diverse and the store itself is small. It is extremely busy! For the amount of customers that this store sees daily the service is GREAT! Yes you will wait sometimes in line to be checked out, but even in the burbs ya gotta wait in line. Yes you will shop in a crowded aisle. This store was built a long time ago when Denver was not so crowded and shopping in downtown Denver was not so frantic and fast paced. But for convenience, location and access this is THE store....
This Walgreen's location has a unique clientele, it is the only Walgreen's in the Denver downtown area. I have been getting my prescriptions filled for over two years at this location after moving to downtown Denver. I have used Walgreen's pharmacy for prescription refills for over ten years.Repeatedly, I have seen a lack of effort and respect on the part of the counter employees & pharmacists (particularly Katherine) regarding disabled customers, guests in our city, and the general public as a whole. They lack a sensitivity to the needs of customers and act as though they are ignorant to the pharmaceutical profession. Customers often have to wait an extreme amount of time and/or find that once they get there to pick up their prescriptions that there was an error and it can't be processed. The pharmacist blow it off like that's not my problem. Well it is in effect their problem, there is very little parking in that area, people sometimes have to come blocks or miles to get their prescriptions only to find out that little effort was made to accommodate their pharmaceutical needs. Many of these customers are of low income and indignant means, I would hate to think that any Walgreen's is showing discrimination to this particular clientele, to show such little respect for the customer regardless of their disability, race or economic status.
Please keep Katherine away from the public, she does not represent Walgreen's pharmaceutical standards for working with the public...she needs to stay home when she is not having a good day!
Suggestion: New customer service training is seriously needed at this location.

This store is the usual offerings from Walgreens but the location is convenient for any downtowner without a car. Located on the 16th Street Mall, it is easily accessible for all. The store itself doesn't set itself apart from the pack - the aisles are narrow and crowded, the service is second-rate and the selection is average.
But if you need a typical household item and can't get to Target or K-mart and you're close to the 16th Street Mall, this is the place to go.
