This was my first time at Romano's. I found them by searching italian rest in littleton and they cam up, i read a few reviews and they seemed like a good place that has been around for a long time so we decided to go there. I have to say that everyone was friendly and the service was good. The food amount was good and taste was good as well. But something happened wheni got home. Explosive Diarrhea. Seriously, i have never had that happen after a meal before. I have not been sick and this is not normal behavior for me. I'm not sure if maybe one of the women in the kitchen was a bitter ex or someone in the kitchen just didnt like the way i looked or what but it didnt seem like a normal upset stomach from food my stomach didnt agree with.. But seemed more like someone must have put something in my food cause it was so intense and quick once i got home. I got the shrimp alfredo and my girlfriend got the chicken alfredo. She had no problems at all but i was in the bathroom within an hour of getting home. This is why i think maybe i was sabotaged for some reason. I wont be going back there, too bad cause i kinda liked the place but not worth the aftermath.

My family and I have been coming to Romano's Restaurant since I moved to Colorado 20 years ago. I am Italian and love the food and the feel of both locations. It is family owned and "not fancy and pricey", it is a great family style

Where do I even begin? This place looks like a diner, feels like a diner, tastes like a diner and sounds like a zoo (with all the children running around rampant). I ordered the chicken parm and it was too tough to chew through... that texture you get when chicken sits out for days on end (I worked in the food industry so I know). I can only imagine that this place appeals only to people who eat microwaveable meals on a regular basis.

Romano's is a family run business. You enter the restaurant and the kitchen is behind the counter and the delightful smell of home cooking starts you mouth watering.

The foods home style, so no fancy "presentation" just good food and plenty of it. Most people take home boxes with the leftovers. I'm from New York City and have eaten Italian in Little Italy and all over the City and Romano's can hang with the best of the family restaurants back East.

Good ol' home cooked Italian. Pizza's great too.

Pros: Food

Cons: Entrance and waiting area is small

Good food! This is the only place where I can get a seafood pasta with huge chunks of seafood in it. They have excellent service, even when they are packed. I would always recommend this place. Parking lot isn't very big, just circle around a few times.

ok, being Italian, being a chef and loving Italian food I have to be honest and fair and say that Romano's is awful. Their, "homestyle" noodles are disguisting!! The dried noodles arent much better either. We have been several times, to both locations and the experience is always the same, the servers are fair at best and the place is usually dirty, I mean straw wrappers on the floor, dirty dishes stacked up, nastiness on the walls, etc.

The worst thing of all is the food, it is bland, uninspired and pedestrian. You could get better "Italian" food from olive garden! It really isnt hard to create good Italian food. Most of the famous dishes from the country are peasant style dishes. It doesnt have to be expensive, fancy or formal, it just has to be good and Romanos falls far far short of the mark.

I felt like I was in Little Italy. Fantastic food, fun! And the service was like I was eating from the table of my mother. Only I did not have to wash the dishes! Will I go back. You betcha!

Romano's homemade pasta is delicious, as well as their pizzas and sandwiches. They have mostly red-sauce, hearty, filling dishes; my favorite of which is the traditional spaghetti and meatballs. The service is prompt and conscientious, great way to support a family-owned local business!

I am 35 years old and have been eating at Ramono's since I was 12. They truly have the BEST stuffed shells I have ever had not to mention the lasagna is to die for. I have been to the East coast and do not really think there is much that can out do Ramono's. I continue to drive out of my way (from Park Hill) to visit Ramano's about once a month (no I do not live in the neighborhood, but used to) as a previous writer pointed out. I highly recommend trying Ramano's whenever you have the opportunity.

Fantastic homemade pasta -- I love anything with white or clam sauce; my husband loves their homemade spaghetti with meatballs. The eggplant parmesan is to die for! Yum! Our kids are always happy when we go there! Two locations -- one in downtown Littleton, the other is at University south of C470.

I absolutely love this comfortable, family-owned restaurant. Once you walk in the door, you feel automatically part of the family! Not only do my husband and I choose Romano's for a romantic night out, but the kids love it too. I have taken advantage of the catering services that Romano's offers. It is affordable, convinient, and always a success! Excellent eggplant parmigana, I would recommend this place to anyone with tastebuds!

Great food, friendly staff. Family friendly. Kids love the pizza. Their crust is is just slightly buttery, with hearty and perfectly cooked toppings. 2-3 pieces of pizza will fill you up nicely.

Ramone's has great Italian food. Their Basil Chicken in a white wine garlic sauce is excellent. Their calzone's are huge and the pizza is great too.
Avoid "rush hour" (i.e., Friday nights) and special holidays if you don't want to wait.
Sitting is a tad bit tight but it has you that much closer to kitchen breathing in all those awesome smells!

I grew up on the east coast and moved to Colorado at the age of 27.

Romano's is a horrible place to eat and the people leaving 5 star comments for a restaurant that doesn't even deserve 1 star no doubt grew up in Littleton and never left this town.

Now I tried a new Italian restaurant in the area called Michael's Italian Bistro and all I can say is "Now that's Italian."

I am not affiliated with them in the least but if you consider yourself a connoisseur of foods in any way, check them out on citysearch.

I have been eating there since1974, and the only restaurants that made/make pizza as good as John Romano makes is the old Marigold and even Bonnie Brae Tavern comes in second. And it has been consistently great the whole time. It is the best American- Italian pizza I have had in the U.S.!

Romano's Italian Restaurant is a long time gem in the Littleton community. My family has dined at this charming restaurant for many years, and we have always had a delightful experience! The food is delicious - our favorites include the eggplant parmigiana and the wonderful variety of pizzas. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable, the service is always excellent. This is the perfect place to take friends or family for a wonderful meal.

I hired Romano's to cater 2 lucheons for my child's school. The first one went off with out a hitch and was enjoyed by 2 tracks of teachers, the second was disasterous. 17 teachers were violently ill 36-48 hours after the luncheon. It was easy to narrow down the culprit because these teachers typically do not eat the same thing at the same time. The school was actually shut down early because there were not enough teachers to man the classrooms; an expensive cleaning team was brought in to disinfect the school as a precaution. The owners of Romano's not only denied any responsibilty (to the newspaper only) they never returned a phone call to the school or the PTA which sponsored the event. The PTA does fundraiser that parents contribute to to do these events and this one cost $600. The school district spent thousands in substitues and the cleaning crew. Having spent 15 years in food industry I understand that bad experiences happen - it is was happens next that shows the character of the establishment and it's owners. This is a restaurant in OUR neighborhood and we were not treated very neighborly. Thank you for your time in reading this.

I spent 21 years of my life on Long Island NY, and believe me, this place is the real deal! No pretension, reasonable prices, and extremely good food. I can think of any number of resturaunts in the Denver area that claim to have NY style Italian food, but this is the only place that fits the bill. The veal and chicken parmesian are both wonderful. The tomato sauce is excellent, and the homemade pasta is simply divine. Both the kitchen and the waitstaff are quick, friendly and efficient, but you won't feel hurried. They also have a good selection of Italian wines at reasonable prices. This place is definitely worth a visit if you want to see how its really done on Long Island; bring your appetite!

Romano's is the best of the best. The atmosphere is family oriented, warm, friendly, and inviting. The food can't be beat. Forget the expensive chain restaurants. Those places charge for atmosphere and provide no quality of food. Romano's provides not only atmosphere but the most delicious Italian food anywhere. Their homemade sauces and salad dressing cannot be beat. The bread is always fresh and warm and the staff is wonderful. The prices are affordable and definately worth paying for such high quality. Romano's is the best place in Colorado, or anywhere as far as I'm concerned.

My husband and I are relatively new to Littleton and have tried most of the restaurants within a 5 mile radius of our house. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a tasty Italian joint with good food. I had a baked pasta with italian sausage that was a generous serving and every bite went down with pleasure. My husband had a calzone and he enjoyed it into the next day. It's a little spendy, but helpings are large. The calzone was good because usually calzones are mostly dough with a little food in the middle, this one was mostly goods with a normal amount of crust - just right. We will go back again and again when we are in the mood for home cooked Italian.

Having just moved to Denver 3 weeks ago, I have been hankering for some "authentic" Italian food and Carraba's and Olive Garden don't provide the authenticity I was accustomed to from my roots in St. Louis, MO.

So, I checked out CityGuide and saw the Romano's restaurant in Littleton, checked out Romano's web site, read the bio behind the restaurant's beginning and was inclined to make the 23 mile drive. Was I disappointed? NO WAY! The atmosphere, service, price, and the food were all top notch. Even though I prefer a bit sweeter marinara, the taste was delectable. What did I have? The lasagna -- and it was full of ricotta cheese and great flavor throughout. The service was excellent as well. My only reservation was that they don't make their own salad dressings. I will return to eat at this establishment many times more. Thanks for a great experience!
