In response to Susan J's post, the part that went bad was an oil pan that was impacted by something as the vehicle was driven and was not a part failure. A VW oil pan would not have held up any better. The customer chose NOT to replace the shield underneath the oil pan that could have provided some protection and prevented repeated damage to the part. Downing Street Garage provides superior service and quality parts and has even won awards for how fairly and ethically they treat their customers.

Downing St. Garage is a ripoff!
I have been very disappointed in Downing St Garage and wanted to warn others. First, their prices are outrageous! They charged nearly four times more than the dealership for a diagnostic - $228 as opposed to $65 and I have found that their prices are inflated across the board. They wouldn't let me provide my own factory approved part, and I've had two of theirs go bad in just a few months. I feel they gauge the consumer big time, and if this isn't a mark of a lack of integrity, than I don't know what is. Shame on them!

I have been taking my car to DSG for 20 years. They have always taken the time to explain everything to me in a way that I can understand. Their people are very nice and very professional. The shop is clean and they even give me a ride home and pick me up when my car is done. The last time I had my car serviced they called and said I needed some maintenance services done. They got my car done on time and even came in under the estimate. As a result I never have unexpected break downs. Thanks for being a great auto shop.
