Hi, I'm Hector Guerrero Lara and I want to say KEEP MELTING! I was floored by the amazing experience I had at the Melting Pot. The ambience was sublime and decor elegance in simple motion. The service was a touch of Swiss clockwork

My boyfriend and I went to Melting Pot and we experienced a fun, fun, fun! Dinner. I kept on stealing his lobsters (lol), but anyway, the food was awesome! Will be returning with my younger cousins to see how much food I can steal from

Too bad this restaurant gets recommendations, because it is just an awful place. Stairs up, stairs down, and plenty of them. I was so embarrassed that I suggested this dark grotto to my friend. It was very expensive, and the sirloin steak

The melting pot is an excellent place for a date or family event. In my experience the food, atmosphere, and service has been amazing. Plan on 2-3 hours for a full meal of cheese fondue, salad, main course fondue, and chocolate fondue.

My first trip here started out great, but as the night went on it was filled with disappointment. First off, I would have liked if the hostess here told us we should make a reservation when I called. We drove 30 minutes just to wait there. The server's personality was great, but he was never around. The food was BAD. We were overcharged. The manager was rude. We ended up leaving before dessert even, because, by then, our enthusiasm for this place was GONE. We just wanted to leave. I paid the bill and asked for the restaurant manager. I was given his card. I emailed him the next day, as well as called. It wasn't until 6:00pm that he got back with me. After about 30 minutes on the phone with him, the best he offered was a certificate for the dessert (that we paid for anyway!). I will NEVER go back, and I will tell everyone I know to not waste their time or money.

We had a cheese pot, a beef pot, a dessert pot, and a bottle of very good wine. We took 3 hours to indulge in every piece of it. The food was delicious, there was a lot to get through, but we just couldn't leave it alone.
The staff were all excellent; well mannered, attentive, and generally pleased to assist you. A great place for anniversaries!

This was one of three restaurants my wife and I went to during 5280. We've been to the Melting Pot before, but we wanted to go again (who wouldn't) to check out their 5280 menu.

I expected a watered down version of a real menu (see Elways review) but I was pleasantly suprised to see all four courses! Cheese was the right size, salads, entree and chocolate! Nothing was skimped!

Let me slow down for a moment and explain why the Melting Pot is so successful. We all know the building is immaculate, but the service is what stands out. I asked our server what kind of training goes into becoming a Melting Pot server and he said it's an ongoing training process that takes several weeks. I asked him what he thought of it and he had nothing but positive things to say about it and the management.

From the moment we sat down we were treated like old friends. They knew my first name (and called me by it!) and gave us a wonderful explanation of the 5280 menu. It was as if they didn't mind us cheaper folks coming in for a special-and that's what makes the Melting Pot special!

The swiss was very good. Caesers with the little sugar nuts are always are favorite. Chocolate smores...yeah, gimme some of that!

Martinis are a bit pricey, but I'll take it for the ambiance and service.

Great job, Melting Pot. Please keep it up!

The Melting Pot is not a quick meal, and we expect to linger over the many courses when we visit ... which is why we were surprised when only minutes after paying out bill, we were approached by the general manager and in no uncertain terms asked to leave our table. He did mumble something about champagne in the bar, but we were so taken aback and embarrassed that we did not want to stay another minute. We felt that the situation was handled badly as our waitperson never said that she needed the table (it was 9:00 on a weeknight) and instead immediately elevated the situation to the manager, who quite frankly could use some sensitivity training in dealing with patrons. This was after we spent over two hundred dollars for a party of four and tipped our waitress 20 percent. We felt unwelcome at this establishment and our evening was ruined.

The service is first class and the dining experience quite unique. Be prepared to take your time and not rush through the meal. We enjoyed 4 delicious courses over 3 hours. A great idea for a special date night.

I recently celebrated my b-day at the Melting Pt. What a wonderful experience. My husband and I have opposite schedules he is a chef and I??m an elementary school teacher off for summer break. My husband had to work a closing shift on my birthday so he wanted to take me somewhere special for lunch. When he told me we were going to the Melting Pt I though he was crazy because I had no idea they even had lunch there. When we arrived I noticed their new patio. Although I was hesitant to sit outside because it was about noon in the middle of July but the hostess assured me that the umbrellas block out most of the sun/heat. She was right it was absolutely beautiful! The umbrellas provided so much shade and the ambiance of the patio was so serene. When we sat at our table I noticed the dozen roses my hubby ordered for me! They were so beautifully arranged and it was such a pleasant surprise.

The lunch menu was very well priced. I was surprised about the savings. Because we were on a time crunch we did the cheese salad and chocolate special (all of the best things). I have been to the Melting Pt before and it has always taken a bit of time, but our server (Marcus) was very accommodating to our schedule. He had us fed with time to spare. I even had time to enjoy a grand mariner with my chocolate.

It was absolutely a delightful b-day lunch and we were done in time for my hubby to get off to work. I got to take the dozen roses with me! So my husband was officially off the hook for having to work on my birthday.

Thanks!

I love reading reviews on these web sites, but I never thought I would actually write one myself!

I just took my fianc to the MeltingPot for the first time and we were both blown away. We had both heard from our friends that the atmosphere and customer service was superb, they were right! Our server was one of the most knowledgeable people we have ever met. He knew the menu like he had written it himself. I am an employee at a restaurant myself and when I told our server that, he told us about their hospitality special. For people in the service industry they can have all four courses for half price! I was shocked and amazed that even in this economy a restaurant can have such a great deal! We decided to go that route and it was simply amazing! Our friends told us that the price was better than they anticipated and they were correct again.

I don't know of another fine dining restaurant where you can get so much food for so little. Our meal took roughly 2 hours and we only spent $75.00 for our food and a bottle of wine!!!!

When we arrived there we walked through their brand new patio that looks amazing. We were going to dine on the patio but they had just closed it down for the evening. Our reservation was at 10:30 PM so it wasn't a problem. Looking at the patio we are definitely going to come back and eat on the patio. Our server told us when we asked about the patio that it is open for lunch!!!! To top that off they have a new lunch menu to go along with the beautiful new addition.

To try to summarize everything up, this was our first visit to the MeltingpPot but it will not be our last. We were blown away by the service and atmosphere and will tell all of our friends and family to go to the MeltingPot and have as much fun as we did!

I am a HUGE fondue fan, but can never get my husband to take me out for fondue. We had tried "La Fondue" in downtown Denver one year for Valentine's Day and it was a horrible disaster. So, it took some talking into on my part to get him to take me to The Melting Po* for our wedding anniversary.
The ONLY drawback was that we forgot to make reservations, when we called that afternoon to see if we could get in that evening, they said no. However, I had my heart set on going there and talked my husband into just showing up and seeing if we could get in. We showed up and were seated right away. ??? We were happy about that but how come they told us there was no availability?
Anyway...the experience was AWESOME! Our waiter was very nice, friendly and very knowledgeable. He explained everything to us (what la fondue is desperately missing.) The salad was so YUMMY!!! The cheese was amazing. The meat with all the sauces is so tasty. Then, you get to the chocolate party and oh wow! Simply scrumptious!!
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. If you don't mind cooking your own food (which I think is fun, not everyone does,) and having a long leisurely meal....this is the place for you!
Oh, not to mention the old building that the restaurant is in is VERY cool!
Keep up the good work Melting Po*! If you continue with hiring the awesome servers and bringing out the yummy food...we'll be back again and again!

I love this resturaunt (I can't type the name because apparently the word p- o- t is inappropriate)! The service is always awesome, and the cheese fondue is the best ever, it's totally worth the large bill at the end.

I ate at this restaurant at the end of September 08. After receiving my credit card statement, I had a billing dispute. I faxed a letter to the restaurant on October 23, 2008 requesing a copy of my receipt. Three weeks later, I still had not received a copy of the receipt, so I went to the restaurant in person to demand a receipt. I was faxed a receipt the next day. However, after reviewing the receipt, I still have a billing dispute with this restaurant. The following day, I left a message for the manager/operating partner, who had faxed me the receipt, and I told him that I was still disputing the bill and asked for a call back. It has now been 3 days, and the magager/operating partner has not returned my phone call. I feel I will have no choice but to dispute this bill in writing with the credit card company. I am tired of being ignored with what I feel is a legitimate billing dispute. Given the prices they charge for food, I would expect much better service and more professionalism from them. They have permanently lost my business.

Ok...so I tried this restaurant because of all the good reviews. I give this restaurant a low score because, honestly, for the money...the food was not so great. Plain food that you "boil" and dip in some ok tasting sauces. This was not my idea of a fine dining experience no matter how you slice it. Take your money and spend it in a nice steak house or italian restaurant instead.

We went for our anniversary and a much needed date night. We were greeted by very attentive hostesses and we got a great area in the basement. The roses and mood was set for the evening. New to this dining experience, our server, a tall red-headed gentleman with a great smile and cheerful personality) explained everything in detail and made a few suggestions as to his favorites. Glad we had a guide! The service was quick and professional. The food "Out-of-this world," the dining experience was fun, the location of our private cove, perfect. Lots of money? You get what you pay for and we did, experienced server, fantastic food, great atmosphere! What more could one ask for?

I mean, really people. Unless you go to Chilli's or someone other craphole, you're not going to find a better deal in town. The same idiots who complain about it being overpriced are probably the same ones who complain about having to cook their own food!!! GET A FRIGGING CLUE!!!.

I recently took my wife of eight years to the Littleton location for an impromptu night out. From the moment I walked in the door I not only observed an attentive host staff, but an multi-level waterfall. Simply AMAZING!

Our server, who was very professional and direct, began telling us about their newest special. It was a four course meal for two which included a bottle of wine. Where on earth can you find something like this? The best part about the special was that a portion of the proceeds were going to charity. Our server made us believe that without a doubt, this was the best way to go. He was direct and passionate, but not pushy.

We tried their newest cheese and although the presentation was interesting (a long carving knife to a lime for zest) I still believe the Wisconsin cheese is their best.

Chocolate was of course sinful, but what set the night off completely had nothing to do with the food. Towards the end of our evening the manager, Tony I believe was his name,( My wife calls him the well-dressed secret service) came to our table with two glasses of champagne. We were both shocked he came to the table considering we weren't celebrating anything with champagne and strawberries. When we informed him we weren't celebrating anything he laughed and said he knew that, but sometimes just getting out is reason enough. AGREED!!! He then thanked us for coming in and talked briefly about the charity we had just "donated" to!

I had to write my own review of this wonderful restaurant after seeing several bad reviews. We'll be back!

Cons: $6.50 for a beer?

I held a baby shower here at tor my daughter and my first grandchild and I have to say it was great! The staff went out of their way to make sure it was memorable. They supplied balloons that said "it's a boy" and and made sure we had everything we needed. The fondue was great and our server "Jim" did a fantastic job. The staff even helped us carry the gifts my daughter received out to our vehicles. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special event. Also, I have eaten here on other occasions and have always found it to be excellent. Yes, it takes awhile, but it is fondue for goodness sake!!! It is not cheap, but the experience is worth the money.

After reading many online reviews (mixed, although some could be discarded when they got into the "I have to cook my own food?" comments!), I was a little worried about whether it would be worthwhile to go. I decided to go ahead, and we took a group of 8 to the Littleton location.

I needn't have been concerned. We were seated quickly for a 9pm reservation on a Saturday--it would have paid to make the reservation more than a week out, if we needed to get in earlier--in a sort of "private room." It was smallish, but comfortable.

The service was outstanding. From the roses waiting at the table (it was a birthday celebration) to the attentive waiter, we were very pleased with our treatment. We had everything explained well (and patiently), and it was fun to watch the food prep and cook with fondue. The seafood-based main course was very tasty, filling, and enjoyable to cook.

Yes, the price is up there, but I thought it was well worth the expense for the experience we had over 3 hours. If you're looking for fine dining, then you might be disappointed, but if you want to do fondue, then by all means, don't hesitate.

Went to the restaurant with out of town friends. I have been to the restaurant many times in the past with no problems. Unfortunately, this time the restaurant was horrible:
1. the silverware had baked on food particles.
2. the dishes had baked on food particles.
3. the beer glass was cracked.
4. the first waiter complained how he was overworked with little pay.
5. the chocolate fondue had a hair in it.
If you go, check the cleanliness of the food and silverware.

The table next to me filled out the suggestions card and wrote they should get new waitstaff, but the waitstaff got it first and laughed.

Don't waste your time and money.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone going on a formal, nice, and expensive date. The food is awesome (not particularly fancy--as it is fondue) with plenty of options. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is a BIG meat eater, and this did not pose a problem at all with the variety of options. For what the food lacks in "formalness," the atmosphere of the restaurant makes up for. The one in Louisville, at least to me, feels incredibly romantic, yet the dress goes from casual all the way to formal, so don't feel like you must dress to the 9s.
All in all, the service was great and super friendly (which is pretty rare when two college kids are sitting in a high end restaurant) and the food was excellent. If you are willing to spend the money ($90 for the two of us) it will be a fun, and yummy, experience.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone going on a formal, nice, and expensive date. The food is awesome (not particularly fancy--as it is fondue) with plenty of options. Pros: Food, Service, Ambience, Romantic

Cons: A little on the pricey side

Very quaint place. People ther were very pleasant and helpful. We were treated very well and the service was just perfect. Very unique place - especially for a romantic dinner for two in a tucked away place made for you.

Food was just wonderful - the cheese, meat and chocolate fondues were top - and for the price a real good value. Just happened to walk in - lucky break for us. Thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there.

What other restaurant can you go to and pay to cook your own appetizer, dinner, and dessert? This place is romantic, fun, and something different.

HERE IS A GREAT JEM TO KNOW! Though it's not on the menu, ask for the "sunset special". For 50 something dollars you get, for 2 people, a bottle of wine, your choice of a variety of entrees, salad, appetizer and dessert. By far the best deal and it included practically everything on the menu! So be sure to ask about it while you make your reservations.
I just recently went with a party of 8, sat in a private wine cellar area & had a wonderful time. I made reservations well in advance since we were attending an Opera later on and booked 3 hours ahead of the show. We made it there with time to spare. I would suggest to allow at least 2 to 3 hours for dinner to allow you time to get to where you need to be if you have something else planned.

EVERYTHING was great - Except the service. For the money we paid ($100 total per couple) We should have gotten a lot better service. The only real service we got was from the Darci, who we thought was the water lady. Our waiter ignored us most of the time, he was sloppy, and was not very imformative. Another lady came around and did not even ask if we wanted water and then just leaned over the table unannounced and poured water in our glasses. She splattered water in my friends face and didn't even apoligize. For the money we paid, we should have enjoyed better service - heck we cooked our own food! not to mention construction all over the place. HINT: After 10pm it is cheap, call for info.

Romantic is definitely NOT a word used at the Melting Pot! Price is TOO high and the food is just average at best. TOO much work to be a romantic place to eat! The emphasis on feed yourself and NOT enjoy getting to know your date!

Went here for a romantic birthday for two, and had a great time! We were in a corner booth which was very private. The servers were very attentive and helpful. It was fun cooking our own food (get a broth, not the oil for the entree). The dessert fondue was terrific and there was a great variety. We got in on an early-bird special, so the value for the experience was better than if dining at a later time. Great date spot!

We were very disappointed in the way the menu was presented. Were expecting something a little more authentic. Most of the fondues available were too creative for our desire to experience a traditional fondue meal. The Swiss have made both an art and a science of this type food and the Melting Pot has a long way to go. After getting over the initial disappointment, it can be an okay place for a group or "fun" outing - it just isn't the place to go if you want choice, quality or real fondue.

Although the prices here are rather out there it's fun for a special ocasion. Not for large groups, kids or anyone in a hurry (dinner can last up to 3 hours). If you are in the mood to enjoy your dinner partner, relax and take your time, this is the place to go. The dessert is one thing that is to die for!!!

I've never been a real fondu fan because it generally takes you 3 hours to complete a meal. However, The Melting Pot is a treat each and every time I go there. Although a little expensive(marginally), the portions are actually just right for for a satisfying meal. The ambiance is rustic and beautiful. The lights are dim with fireplaces and wood/rock surroundings. Definately a great date location. The meals come in the usual three courses. The cheddar/beer apetizer with bread is excellent. We've tried all of the meal fondu's and found that the broth is both light and very tasty (we usually get the platter with the meats and seafood). The dessert is the climax of the entire thing. We have tried a different one each time, and made a couple of our own (do dark choccolate with amaretto), and every one was a treat.

Expensive, but worth it!

I used to live in Washington, D.C. where they have a Melting Pot. A friend took me for my going-away supper and I loved it. My husband took me out for a celebratory supper at the one in Denver, and it was as good as I remembered. They even had a rose in a vase on the table (which I got to take with me). A little pricey, but great for an "every once in awhile occasion."

Terrible service for large groups. It would help if the wai staff did not break glasses or drop hot food repeatedly on customers. The wine list, wait staff, service and reservation policy is substandard for the price you pay.

Great for a date...esp if you want a private table....far right from the front door in corner...as close to a private room as you can get. Foods great but if I'm cooking myself, well why is it priced like Morton's of Chicago? Glad I didn't have to clean up too... would have cost me $300 I guess

I wouldn't write it if I didn't mean it. It was a totally different experience that that of the typical restaurant. With a little guidance and practise you too, can become a fondue-neer?!?! yeah I dunno. But seriously if you haven't gone here - you must. You can easily have a meal for two for under 120 including tip, drinks and drinks- depends how much of an alcoholic you are. I'm going back there later this month - just to try there rich and wonderful sauces and deserts! 10 out of 10!
