I had carpet installed in my upstairs. Two seams started to come apart. I contacted the store and was told that Keith the install manager would call me. I received a call from an installer and was told that I needed to move the furniture, which upset me because I paid Carpet Exchange to move my furniture. Keith never called me to discuss it. I contacted the local BBB and got a call from another installer who said he would come and look at the problem. When he got here I explained that I needed to leave but an adult would be here to sign. He told me he did not know if he could fix it but he would try. When I returned he was gone and I could not believe my eyes, not only was the gap worse it was crooked and the carpet around it had waves, you could step in one place and push the carpet down. I contacted the BBB again. The regional sales manager called and asked to see the seams. He agreed to restretch both seams. He informed me that the installer would be here the next day. The installer called and rescheduled for 2 days later. The installer got here with a "helper", they tore up the upstairs, took a door frame off. I heard a loud noise and I asked what it was, his "helper" said it was nothing. They finished up and left, I went up to check and found out that the noise was a crystal box that was broken which was no where the seam was, I am sure it was because the "helper" was snooping. I contacted the BBB Again and got a response from some B**ch at Carpet Exchange, to this day there is a quarter inch gap at the seams and all Carpet Exchange has to say is that it is industry standard. My carpet is not fixed even though they have an Install Warranty.

Be Ware!!

I recently purchased granite countertops from Carpet Exchange. The buying experience was quite nice however the service stops as soon as you walk out the door. Carpet Exchange contracts with Aspen Design for their installation. I had not problem with the initial appointment. When the installed the mixed up the granite that goes in the bathrooms so one bathroom had to be recut. This was on a Friday. We were told the replacement bathroom counter top would be ready Monday. When we went to install the kitchen faucet the installers had put a wooden sink support right where the faucet goes so we called Carpet Exchange immediately. We were advised nothing could be done until Monday (3 days without a kitchen sink). No one called on Monday. I called again Monday, Tue and Wed with no return call from our sale person or Aspen Design. Finally I got a all on Wed they would come out on Thursday (a week later) to install the replacement bathroom countertop and fix the bracket in the kitchen so the faucet could be installed. We were going out of town for a long weekend so we had to scheduled the work to be done on Monday (now 8 days without pluming in the kitchen or one bathroom). They came out and fixed the sink and installed the countertop. The next day when the caulking dried we discovered they had not used clear and the glue was showing all around the vanity and looks horrible. Again I called Carpet Exhange and was assured they would contact Aspen Design and have the issue resolved. Again 2 days go buy with no call. I called and spoke with the manager and was advised she was aware of my problem but has just been too busy to deal with it. She would contact Aspen Design and return my call again no response. We are now going on 2 weeks with no pluming in the bathroom and doesn't appear any resolution in site. Of not they contact you immediately when payment is due and all daily for payment but can't seem to find my phone number to resolve a problem. I certainly would not recommend using Carpet Exchange and I certainly will not purchase from them again.

After dealing with these people for the 2nd time (and hearing about a bad experience from a friend) I WILL NEVER go back. Their sales staff are great at making you feel welcome in their store and helping with getting your money. After that, they take on the stance that they don't really care.

On my first experience, I received a call that my order was in and ready for me to pick up. Upon my arrival at the Thornton store, I found that my order was in fact incomplete. After speaking to the manager, they said I could go to the Santa Fe store to get the remaining items. Not once was there any attempt to 'fix' their lack of performance.

The second experience, which is still yet to be rectified, started out the same. Great experience to start. After the order was placed, we waited for the call that our order was ready. 3 weeks go by and no call. Finally, I called them to find out that the sales guy we dealt with had been fired, and that our order/account had been 'lost in the mix'. It was, apparently, ready for us to pick up. Just yesterday my girlfriend went in to pick it up only to find, again, they only had part of the order. This time they had no interest in fixing the problem.

DO NOT SHOP AT CARPET EXCHANGE! Their prices do not cover the fact that they have horrible customer service and lack of professional ability.

Pros: friendly sales staff, but it ends there.

Cons: See details

Carpet exchange had the best prices. They were nice and able to help me find what I needed. My only complaint would have been that it took 4 days to get it installed but most companies quoted me longer.

DO NOT GO HERE!
We were welcomed by a great lady who helped us pick all the right things out. THEN...
They came to measure and they measured short on tile, carpet, AND backsplash and even though it was their fault, they charged us for an entier box, when we needed just 2 tiles!
The people at this store acted as if we were stupid when we came into complain about the person who measured, but it wasn't US that was stupid! They even laughed in our faces! Very UNPROFESSIONAL at this store!
They over estimated WAY too much glue, then wouldn't take it back or reimburse us because it was in our posession, even though we hadn't opened it!
We cancelled the rest of our order and lost some money, but I would rather take a small loss in funds and let you ALL know NOT TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, than to give them my business!
Go to a different company, this place is way over priced and over rated!

Cons: Fake, unprofessional, mismeasured everything!

Purchased at Thornton, CO store in 2003. Went to store on Santa Fe Blvd. (close to my work) to see samples again, found lower prices. Salesperson evaded when questioned, directed me to Thornton for answer. Installers took 3 days to finish 1-day job; excuse was they had another home to do. Then I found something I use daily missing the last night. Complained in writing re price difference, late completion of job & stolen item (acknowledged lack of proof, but wasn't going to stay silent). Rcvd measly $50 discount. Carpet wasn't originally stretched correctly in master BR, bulged at edges. Thought we could push it down w/baseboard (done in 2006 -we're bad at remodeling!), but it worsened. I left message for install mgr. Took 2 weeks to return call. I explained we had carpets cleaned, which created bulging in office. He explained it would go back down after it dried, which it had by the time he called back. I also explained bulging in master BR, which had nothing to do w/carpet cleaning. Yes, it was under warranty he said. Since I didn't want the original thieves in my home, install mgr said he'd figure out how to work system & get back to me. 3 weeks later, no callback. Left another msg, rcvd call back 2 days later. He didn't remember discussion, said I was supposed to get a call from one of the installers (Steve), which I hadn't. Tried to remind him about our conversation; started w/carpet cleaning explanation, but he didn't let me finish, so he assumed problem was due to carpet cleaning. Then he yelled that it was not under warranty. I tried to finish reminding him what was discussed again, but wouldn't let me finish. He switched & said it wasn't taken care of b/c we didn't have invoice # - I called him out on why he said I'd rcvd a call from Steve. He said "I'm not Steve, I don't know why he didn't call you." Since he was belligerent & inconsistent, I said don't worry about it and hung up on him. I'd rather pay someone else to fix their mistake. This place is shady.

Pros: Fair prices & wide selection

Cons: Shady employees & practices

If you have a claim with this company don't let them get away with a repair with settlement. The settlement means that they got paid from the manufacture for the whole carpet job. You end up without a warranty. If you do go with the repair with settlement make sure the settlement will cover the whole carpet job. I would tell you more but they won't allow a links here or over 2000 characters so you are stuck with this little wantabe review.
