Deer Creek Animal Hospital is AWESOME!!!!!!!! I love everyone there. The front dest staff is excellent. They are always so helpful and caring any time I come in. The doctors and techs are fabulous as well. They are extemely knowledgeable and offer the utmost care. The boarding staff and facility are phenomenal! I refer everyone I know to this vet hospital. I can't believe some of these poor reviews that DCAH has gotten. Just like the other person said, if you don't know what is going on with your pet or how much things cost It is your RESPONSIBILITY as a pet owner to speak up! Also, if you do not have money to pay for your pets' health care you should not have a pet! Pet's are extremely expensive and require A LOT of care. Would you go to the grocery store and expect to get goods and services without paying for them? I don't think so. Why should the vet hospital be any different? Deer Creek, just like any other vet facility, has expenses to pay as well. Unfortunately, not every business can be a non-profit organization. Also, I have boarded my pets there quite frequently and have NEVER had any problems. I find it ludicrous that the person who said that they live on a 150 acres doesn't understand where her pets may have gotten giardia from. Try your backyard!! Giardia is extremely rampant in Colorado. So please, disregard those poor reviews and give Deer Creek a chance. You will not be dissapointed!!!

I was sorry to see a poor review for this group. We have been using them for 30 years and wouldn't go any where else. Dan and Ray ahve seen us through all of our dogs, from puppies to the final days, and we have never doubted their skill as vets or their comapssion. Owners need to be involved with their pets care. If you don't understand, ask. If you aren't happy let them know right away. Don't sit back and then complain later!

I was a client of Deer Creek for 15 years until this week. I had to make an emergency visit, my dog was vomiting excessively, and one eye became red, and inflamed. I was briefly consulted with by the vet; he told me he was going to do an x-ray, and took my dog. He showed me the x-ray which didn't show any problems. That was the last communication I had with the vet. A vet tech dropped off some medication to me - no instructions of how to apply, or why my dog needed it. My dog was brought back to me by a vet tech that told me she had been given fluids. I paid $427.00 and left Deer Creek Animal Hospital not knowing what was wrong with my dog, and if what I paid for was really needed. I wasn't given the opportunity to make any decisions regarding my dog's care & treatment. I felt like this vet was only concerned with how much he could bill, and not with the health of my pet. He didn't respect me enough to be allowed to make decisions regarding treatment.
There are some really good vets at Deer Creek, and their boarding is the best. But there is at least one vet in the practice that I feel is more money motivated than really committed to the health and love of animals. I no longer respect Deer Creek, and wouldn't recommend.

I tried to take my cat here who is dying and they wanted $100 to $200 up front. I explained to them that I have direct deposit coming in two business days and asked if I could please write a post dated check for two days. They refused!!! I explained to them that my cat will die this weekend without care. They said they were sorry and that was that. Please don't give them your business. They, like others, ONLY care about the money and not about saving an animals life. Two days? You can't give me two days to save my cat?

I have been a client of Deer Creek for 13+ years. Over the years I have come to know that the doctors at this hospital are passionate about veterinary medicine and therefore keep up on the latest medical procedures. Recently, I had my newest dog spayed. It was a laparoscopic spay and would result in less pain for my pet. It was an easy decision for me to have it done this way, since I would personally want to have surgery performed on myself the same way. The price was very reasonable. The dog's incision was only the size of a dime! It was also comforting to know that this hospital requires dogs that have been spayed to remain overnight and to be watched by a nurse. They also required bloodwork before the surgery to help make sure there would be no problems with anesthesia. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgable.

I have boarded my pets at Deer Creek for many years and you could not pay me to take them anywhere else. I started taking them to Deer Creek long before they had luxury boarding, which added a whole new dimension to the already superior boarding facility. I have had them boarded for up to 3 weeks at a time and never had any of them come home sick. I have gone into the kennel area and it is extremely clean and well maintained. I do not ever worry about how they are being cared for because I know the staff is 100% dedicated to the well being of my pets. If you are concerned about leaving your pets, you can rest easy leaving them here. They are WORLD CLASS in my book!

I have been a client at Deer Creek Animal Hospital for 13+ years. I have taken my pets to just about every Doctor that has worked at the Clinic for everything from a torn toenail to cancer. I have always had exceptional care for my pets and exceptional service. The staff has always been caring, professional and sympathetic. I will also never board my animals anywhere but Deer Creek since they have 24 hour on site technicians, which is rare when boarding. The 24 hour care is also crucial when I have had to leave a sick pet overnight. I can call any time of the night and get an instant update. From the owners to the kennel staff I commend them all for their hard work and dedication.

I took my two English bull dogs in for 4 days of boarding, prior to arriving we took our pets to homestead veterinary clinic for fecal exams and kennel cough vaccinations. Our pets Baxter and Payton were perfectly healthy. When we returned to pick our dogs up 4 days later we were told one of them had girraria and that she must have had it when she cam in because their facility couldn't possibly have any girrardia. I am quite certain Payton contracted the parasite there, we live on 150 acres of private land and our dogs do not come into contact with other dogs, or streams.
I was not called when my pet became ill nor was I advised until after the fact that my pet was put on medication.

We have had a number of smaller incidents with this Vet Provider, and just recently a more significant incident which caused us to find another Animal Hospital for our three pets.

The main concern was the treatment of our puppy when we took him there to be neutered. The normal policy of the clinic is to keep your dog overnight after the neutering procedure. We were called at 8:00 p.m. and asked to come and get our dog because he was aggressive and would not leave his kennel. We then learned that he had been marked as an aggressive dog during a previous procedure, but no one had informed us of his behavior. We also had no previous evidence of aggressive behavior with other strangers or with other dogs.

On the surgery acceptance form I requested that the dog be micro-chipped, and not only was this not done, but they were reluctant to do it when we picked him up because he was "aggressive." We asked if he needed an E-collar, and was told "only if he licks the area" We informed them that he has always been a licker, and were still told "you only need a collar if he licks the area". Frustrated, we purchased the collar ourselves.

Two days after the surgery, the dog was suddenly enormously swollen. We went in for an emergency visit, and was then told by one technician the collar was too small, and then by the Vet the collar was OK, but we should buy another collar just in case. We were given antibiotics and told to call back MONDAY (the next day) if nothing had improved.

Monday I called because the dog was worse if anything, and the technician on the phone basically dismissed my concern and said "you should not have been told to call back already since antibiotics take a few days to work". She did not encourage me to bring in the dog yet.

I made an appointment for Tuesday with a different Vet for a second opinion. However, before I could go in, we woke up Tuesday and his scrotum and ruptured! We called Deer Creek to see if they would do anything. They looked at the dog, said they did not think it was infected, but gave us more antibiotics and said to return in three days.

I kept my appointment with the new vet, who ACTUALLY DID A CULTURE, and found that not only was the entire scrotum full of bacteria and white blood cells, but there were necrotic regions of skin. And, this vet finally gave us pain/sleep medication for him. Needless to say our followup appointments are going to be with our new vet.

Perhaps we were an odd case, but they also have done things like lose our insurance paperwork so that I had to bring in new copies of it. Too many small mistakes do not make for good service.

This a a full care animal facility. They perform general veterinary care/surgery, as well as alternative treatments such as accupuncture, animal behaviorists and whirl pools. They also have grooming and boarding services. The vets and staff are very loving to the animals and provide quality care. Because it is a hospital treatment can become quite extensive. The pet owner needs to decide if a more complete or complex treatment is really what is needed at the time.
