              .

This is my go-to place to get my Julius fix. I was thrilled when a DQ/OJ opened up blocks from my home but tonight taught me to stick with the tried and true.
Let me explain: I stopped in to the DQ that had opened up near the Kohls on S Wadsworth to get my son his favorite drink as he'd been housebound after surgery for weeks. I ordered his usual Large Strawberry Banana Orange Julius. I was charged the usual four something. But when the drink was handed to me, it was a medium size. I told the clerk I'd ordered a Large, not that size, but he tried to tell me that WAS a large. I told him I'd been ordering the same drink for years and that was not a large. He insisted it was. I left the store and drove to the DQ on Union to find out if DQ had changed the size of the drinks, as I suspected the clerk at the new Wadsworth store was skimming funds from the register.
I walked into the Union store and was greeted professionally, as usual. I explained that I wasn't buying anything; I set the drink on the counter and told the clerk it was a Strawberry/Banana OJ that I'd just bought at the new store on Wadsworth and wanted to know what size it was. He bent forward to look at it closely and said "medium". I then told him the clerk at the other store insisted it was a large, even after I had questioned him about the discrepancy. The clerk then told me to wait while he called the store manager. I explained that I didn't expect them to do anything as it wasn't their fault, but I wanted someone to contact the other store management or owner to let them know there was a clerk charging customers more than was being sold. The manager of the union store picked up the medium sized drink and told me she was going to replace my drink with the proper size drink. I told her she didn't need to do that, but she reassured me that Dairy Queen wouldn't approve and that she was going to call the other store and talk with the clerk and the management.
I hope she does as that same clerk had sold me the proper sized drink before so I know he knew better.

The Union DQ is managed well and has always had cheerful, helpful employees. They went above and beyond to make some other store's customer happy. Now THAT'S customer service like you don't normally see these days.

And I hope the Wadsworth store gets new clerks. There are a lot of honest people out there who could use a job.
