Although, this had been a long time favorite since they started when I entered with a well mannered child for dinner we were pretty much put on the back burner. The appetizers took about 35 minutes, but were decent, the fajitas took even longer, and by the time that arrived it was cold, tough, and bland....oh, by the way where's the chicken? I counted 4 pieces of tiny hard chicken with a plate full of onions and peppers. It appeared to be last night's leftovers. We waited another 20 minutes just for the check. So much for the well mannered child.
Very disappointing and we left hungry and angry.

Pros: Nice atmosphere a good wine list

Cons: not enough waiters to serve everyone efficiently-

Sabor Latino is an old favorite of mine. I would not plan on a quick dinner but as long as you have that expectation in mind you will have a nice relaxing dinner. Try their limeade thing it is great.

This place was plain bad. We ordered chips and salsa...the portion of salsa was so small, that we were out of salsa halfway through the chips and there was no more coming. The salsa was totally flavorless anyway. Then we ordered two meals, the combination plate (burrito, chile rellano, enchilada) ordered with chicken. There was no chicken and it was a plate of cheese, beans, and tortilla. When we asked if the green chile was hot, we were told no, and asked if we wanted a side of jalapenos...we said yes and were promptly charged $1 for them. I ordered the Caribbean plate, it is what i make with leftovers when I want a 5 minute meal. It was beans, rice, and maybe 2 oz of meat, with boring plantains. My meal was so flavorless I debated leaving. There is so much good Mexican/S. American in Denver, this is not the spot.

Pros: Clean Restaurant Location

Cons: Food, portions, etc

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but the food is soooo not worth it. It's bland, under cooked, totally uncreative and over priced. Even the basics like chips and salsa lack taste, I mean how do screw up salsa, especially in North Denver. The service is slow and staff is apathetic. Although I've eaten there several times over the years, I will never go back.

I have eaten at Sabor latino in the past and thought it at least good enough to return.. that ship has sailed. It took a half hour to get drinks, another fifteen minutes more to get a single appetizer.. The waitstaff wandered around or watched TV in the next room. When we finished out appetizer the waitress finally arrived to take our order. I ordered a cuban steak dish... that arrived with nothing but rice and plantains.. By the time I could flag down a waiter.. let alone our own, everyone was finished. Not that the plates were cleaned, but we had just had enough. Burned chicken, missing steak, bland beans, fish was dried out.. things were flavorless in general... if anyone had come near us we would have told someone... Instead I had to go to the bar where I had to compete with the TV for attention. The next time they did come around was with the check... not that we had a birthday and wanted a dessert or anything... On top of that they added gratuity without saying or noting it on the menu. I was so P.O.'D I had a hard time containing myself as we left. Maybe it is a good thing no one asked how things were, I might have gotten myself into trouble. I have lived in South America and abroad and now North Denver. I know what "sabor" is .... and now what it isn't.

Pros: Looks clean and colorful

Cons: everything else

They have good food for great prices. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. The wait staff is never in a hurry to get you in and out, so you can relax, drink some wine, and enjoy your food.

We try to go here at least once a month, a real jewel.

We had a great experience at Sabor Latino. The service was great, everyone was extremely friendly. Tried the margarita and mojito - both were delicious. Recommend ordering the chimichangas! The only unfortunate part was that we were so full from dinner that we had to skip dessert.

They have the best mojitos in town! belive me you have to try them when you go there! the food is delicious. You can just get some of the tradicional mexican dishes or one of the south american dishes that are all just very tasty. Start with some ceviche or fried empanadas. The service was just the best... all the staff is really friendly and always willing to make you experience there the best. I've been there at least 10 times and i am coming back soon! If you go there ask for alberto, andres and nicolas and they will give you the best service ever. All of them have worked there for years and know what customers want.
To the lady that wrote the bad customer service review about the tamales i'd say that you can't go to a restaurant and get mad at a server just because of plantains! come on! get a life and be happy!

The location and ambiance is good, but the food is very uneventful, to say least. Zero passion with the food. I could whip up somehting better in a few minutes at home. Very boring and bland. Also, the hostess was very gruff and unprofessional and the management appeared to be lazy and apathetic.

If you want more than mexican food try this restaurant. I had corn pie with Brazillian limeade. The former was slightly sweet, and the latter slightly tart -a great combination. The service was excellant. Salsa was requested on the side by my wife and it came that way. The waiter checked frequently on whether we were satisfied and needed anything else. The decore was bare brick, with wood framed mirrors, and tableclothes, but you can go casual, and feel comfortable!

On 7/27/06 about 20 of us went to this restaurant for dinner. Remarkably, the menu had a lot of choices. I chose a tamale dish, item # 18 specifically because it came with fried plantains. I love plantains and was excited about having them with my tamales. When the meal came, there were no plantains. The server did not comment on that until I asked where the plantains were. Only then did he inform us (at least 3 people ordered that dish based on the recommendation by the same server that this was his favorite dish) that they were out of plantains. I was very disappointed. I was only able to eat one tamale and lost my appetite. The tamales were not palatable without the plantains. The rest of my meal was taken away by the server. The server never informed us when we placed our orders, that they were out of plantains; the kitchen did not tell the server they were out when he put the order in and the server, after he carried the dishes out, and knowing exactly what should go on every dish, did not comment about the missing plantains until I did. He probably thought we wouldn't notice.
The worst part:
1. I still had to pay for the entire dish as if the plantains were there. 2. The server got his 18% tip regardless of how bad the service was 3. When I spoke to the manager who was a female, she offered up an apology but in the same vein made excuses for the server and the kitchen claiming that their being busy was the reason why there was such a breakdown in communication between the server and the kitchen and the server and the customers.
4. To my dismay, NEVER did she offer to 'Comp' the incomplete dishes or even any part of them (we paid for the plantains we never got, remember) or even offer a discount on the next time we come in. Nothing!
That, I think is bad customer service no matter which way you slice it. My friends and I agreed that overall, the food was 'so-so' when it came to flavor. We are not going back!
