The Yukon Tavern has made a delicious comeback.

A bar and grill with a loyal following since the early 1980s, its decline could be followed online, starting in 2006, when reviews dove from praise to pans. Most

The Yukon Tavern is now the Yukon Rock & Roll Tavern. I went to check it out last night. The bar/restaurant is incredibly clean, the staff was friendly and the food was pretty good. There are now guitars and Rock & Roll Memorabilia on

First time I stepped in the place I was greeted by all the staff with a smile. The food is awesome. You gotta try the Mexican slopper, sliders, their Mushroom burger and their cajun fries. if you like nachos, their Nachos Supreme is excellent and serve you a very generous portion for a very good price. Many activities to do. Free poker, Karaoke, live bands, and pool tournaments. Overall, it's a great place. I don't know what the heck Peaches is talking about. I have been going to the Yukon for the past 2 1/2 yrs. Pete and Anna, the owners, are awesome and very friendly ppl. I hope to see you there...

WHO CAN EXPECT TO ENJOY A NITE OUT OR JUST A FRIENDLY DRINK AT THIS PLACE? THE OWNER IS CONSTANTLY MAKING PASSES AT THE FEMALE CUSTOMERS. THE WAITRESS SUCK! PRICES ARE WAY TO HIGH. THE PLACE SMELLS AWFUL. ITS LIKE A MORGUE IN HERE. YOU EVEN HAVE TO PAY FOR A GLASS OF WATER. WHAT THE ****! I WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN. I WILL SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY ELSE WHERE

The Yukon Tavern used to be a great place to sit, have a good meal, a decent drink, and just unwind. However, since the new owners have took over, the place has been utterly destroyed. There have only been a few good employees. They get to know the few regulars that still actually go there, and then for some inconspicuous reason the owner will fire them for no good reason. I actually witnessed the owner fire one of the best waitresses that place has seen in a while for providing my table with peanuts!! Peanuts? Wow. I truly hope that poor girl finds another job waitressing at a more honorable place where she can expand her potential. There is also one bartender there that stands out amongst the rest of the staff, including the owners. She is always friendly and hardworking. I think she is the only employee there that has made it past a year. I would love to see the Yukon return to it's previous state, either with the current or new owners. If the owners now could only realize what they have, and recognize an excellent employee they could be sitting on a money pot. Unfortuantley they are oblivious to this and the place will soon be shut down or sold hopefully to someone with experience and know how on how to run such a place. :)

The Yukon Tavern used to be a fun place to go with a Cheers like atmosphere and good quality homemade food. After all it's been an institution in Colorado Springs for 30 years. Rather than keep a winning formula the current owners seem to believe that the times are ripe for skimping on Quality, skimming onf advertised steak weights, contemptuously nickel and diming there shrinking customer base and abusing and humiliating the staff. Food is overpriced and quality has been reduced. This place is no fun anymore.

If you like the smell of urnine the minute you walk through the door, you will like the Yukon Tavern. The owner and his wife are the biggest cheapskates I've ever met in the restaurant industry. I really miss the old owner and his happy hour specicals and old staff. These days you really never know what your food is going to taste like because they have such a turnover on cooks( from what I hear, the owners are fire happy). The staff is very rude and put out when you ask for anything. The place is like a morgue because the owner refuses to play any music (he expects his customers to feed his dollar a song jukebox). So if no one is playing music, you sit there in silence. I hate this place. I am never going back. I heard through the grapevine that the kitchen has tons of 4 legged friends. I think I will take my business and money elsewhere. It won't be long before the owners are putting the place on the market.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: urning smell, prices, bad attitutude from owners and staff

The place has a new owner and let's just say the place has gone down hill. The minute you walk into the place, it smells like urine. The prices have gone up alot since the last owner and the new owner and his wife don't have a clue how to keep regulars. I'm sure that's why they have lost most of the regulars that use to give the bar a family like atmoshphere. The staff have bad attitudes. They argue with you about any concern you have over you food or drink order. I personally am going to find another bar to spend my money on. They have such a high turnaround on cooks that you never know what your food is going to turn out like. A friend of mine who worked there told me they have a huge roach problem in the kitchen. I won't be returning to Yukon Tavern.

The Yukon Tavern has been an institution in Colorado Springs for 30 years. Not anymore. The place changed hands about 6 months ago (Oct 2007). The new owner seems to work overtime to run customers off. He has completely changed staff from the day manager to the great evening chefs. The place is a ghosttown, and lately there have been 5th rate bands and an attempt at karaoke, to no avail. The specials have dried up, and the prices have increased dramatically. It won't be long before he will have to close down. I would hope the old owner comes back and rejuvenates the business into the thriving restaurant it once was.

Husband and I spent 5 months in Colorado Springs several years. The Yukon became our Friday night dining place immediately. We felt so welcomed there. Everyone was so friendly and the food was great. Only wish I had bought a T-shirt.

The service was bad but I think that was just our waitress. Everyone else seemed to get their food in a reasonable amount of time. Also, she admitted to putting my food order in wrong so I had to wait even longer to get it redone. HOWEVER, they have really good food, and it can be very inexpensive if you take advantage of the specials. I will go back to check out their Sat. and Sun. morning build your own Bloody Mary breakfast bar, I'm excited!

this bar is a roomie bar that has a few pool tables and get drinks. The food there is also quite nice. The staff is also super nice and ready for anything. they are quite efficient. The place has a cozy rustic look that creates quite a bar feel to it. the drink as also priced just right to make the night last.
