I was taken with this place as soon as I entered. We were greeted by Mae (who turns out to be the owner) like we were old friends. We were seated promptly and served very quickly.

We started with a PuPu Platter and enjoyed it as everything was done perfectly and who doesn't like having fire on their table?

My wife ordered a shrimp/broccoli dish that she claims was wonderful (since it had shrimp in it I seriously doubt it).

I had the Twice Cooked pork and it was exceptional. Flavors mixed well and although they were a little different from what I expected I found it to be wonderful.

I also ordered (on a crazy whim) some beef/curry dumplings. These things were AMAZING. Pastry-like crust and a shot of curry flavor that will bring tears to your eyes and joy to your heart. I know exactly what I am getting next time!!

Through it all our server was very nice without being a pest, drinks were served quickly and soft drinks kept topped off. When we left Mae took out picture and put it on the wall with all kinds of other happy people.

The only bad thing is now my wife doesn't want to try all the other restaurants downtown.

Pros: Great Food, Friendly People, Reasonable Cost

Cons: Downtown Parking Hassles

I ordered from here and had the food delivered.
When the delivery guy came the first time, they had forgotten to pack one of the soups in the bag. That was fine, I just called them back and wanted the soup that I had paid for.
When the delivery guy came back, he had an attitude stating that he had to come all the way back for a stupid soup, than proceeded to curse at me while he left.
This is BY far the rudest restraunt I've ever come across and definately will NOT be ordering from there again and would NOT recommend them to anyone.

Spend your money anywhere else. A complaint to the owner about what appeared to be a chicken neck with vessels hanging out of it was met with a rude response about the food being "authentic". Paid for food that I could not fathom eating. Horrible in every respect.

Hunan Springs is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to in the Springs. The food is authentic, fresh, and satisfies even the pickiest of eaters. Not only is the food great, the atmosphere friendly, but the drinks are hard to beat. I absolutely enjoyed the great dining experience. I will definitely be a repeat customer without a doubt.

Most of the dishes are as good as any in Chinatown in either N.Y. or S.F. Mei is a friendly and attentive hostess and serves nothing but fresh, authentic Chinese food. Try the Mushu Shrimp and the BBQ Spareribs or the Seafood Soup and you will be delighted. Prices are more than reasonable and you can buy an in-house credit card at a discount. My wife and I and all of our friends and family have been going there since it opened and go often. Not every dish is to my liking, but there is more than enough selection of really enjoyable dishes to please even the most picky and knowledgeable diner.

We (my wife and I ) have eaten at Hunan Springs since it opened. It is over all one of the best chinese restuarants in the the Springs in our opinion. Everything I have tried there is very good. Not a chain and doesn't taste like one. May, the owner is a jewel.

This restaurant was an outstanding dining experiece. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt, and the prices were more then fair. I have been in for both lunch and dinner, this resaurant is a good place if you're on a quick lunch break, or eating with the family. My favorites are the sesame chicken, and the seafood combonation with garlic sauce. The owner (Mei) and the wait staff were attentive but not intrusive, and really made the dining experience. Having worked and eaten in several Chinese restaurants, I would have to say this one of the best I've ever been to.
