Home Depot is and has been for a long time the place I buy all my building material. In fact I should own stock, as much as i spend in this store. To the point, my uncle had been looking for a Cub Cadet lawn tractor. He lives up in Morrison, For several weeks now, everytime I'm in the store I visit the Garden Department, and this Lawn tractor had been setting there with a price tag attached to the stering wheel of $979. There was a bigger one with a tag of $2900 next to it. On Monday 3-9-08 me and my wife visited with one of your representatives ( I think his name was Pete ) and asked about the unit. He said it was missing a battery and had been damaged on the front bumper, and was last years model.Otherwise it was brand new, and had a 20 horse power engine. I got on the phone and convinced my uncle to come down and take a look at it.
The next day he came down and verified the price tag, and started asking some questions so he could buy it. He was told by someone in management that the price wasn't right, and that it was a $2000 machine. They cut the tag off. He explained that it was missing a battery, and had damage, and that this price had been on there a long time as was told to him by myself. He asked if they would honor the price, and he was told they would sell it for $1700. He was very unhappy and told your managemnet team to stick it. I think this is a bunch of bull. If I was the one trying to purchase the machine it would have been a lot more than just what he did. In the past, I always felt that Home Depot was honest, and customer committed. Now at least at this store, I have a different oppinion. Even though, it probably was mismarked, the tag that was on there was one of your security plastic bands, so it wasn't like someone was trying to rip you off. If you want to keep my business and all the friends, then you should honor the price. I'm not even sure he would still buy from you now, but either way I would like an e-mail response back on this.

We recently heard that one of the most "stellar" assistant store managers had been fired on trumped up charges of "unbecoming conduct." We have always dealt with this person when shopping in the Crestline, Littleton Colorado store. He is a very professional, helpful, dedicated employee who has always gone out of his way to help us and meet our needs. He is obviously a victim of some sort of vendetta against him. What a mistake the HR people as well as management has made in discharging this fine young person. We have moved our business to Loews and will encourage everyone we know to not shop Home Depot. In our opinion the store manager and the HR person are the ones that should be discharged. This situation needs to be investigated in Depth.

I found what I needed and did make a purchase but I wasn't necessarily happy. I was happy with my purchase but the service needs work. The people were somewhat friendly but not very helpful

The customer service is really bad. Its hard to get any kind of help at the desk. They do have some really cools things so it a place I like to shop but I always leave with a bad feeling. I like their new self checkout, its a real time saver. Oh, the kids like to come with me for the hotdogs.

PROS: great selection
CONS: bad customer service
