Las Fuentes sits across from the Auraria campus on Colfax next to the Starbucks. It has a great location, good friendly service but its food is average. Tacos and enchiladas are good but the guacamole is tasteless.

Totally worth the price (not pricy, but more than most Mexican restaurants in the area) and for good reason. Service is great, and you can't beat the food. I eat here at least once a week for lunch (but you'd better get in before 11:30 am or the lunch crowd will be out the door).

Pros: Great food, Great Service. Authentic Mexican. Can't beat it.

This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is one of the best kept secrets near the Denver Federal Center. Although the secret seems to be getting out - it can be quite crowded at lunch time - get there before 12 if you can. The food is excellent, the portion sizes are ample, and the price is reasonable. There is always a daily special which is a great deal. When we have guests at work, this is usually where I take them for lunch - they can accomodate large groups in their second room (down a very steep ramp - probably not good for the disabled). Overall, I highly recommend it!

Being from Dallas I have a hard time finding decent Tex-Mex in Denver. This place is one of my favorites and and the tortilla soup is some of the best I've had.
