Despite some harsh statements and very derogatory references in earlier reviews, Dinos is a people place. You don't stay in business for over 50 years by selling inferior products. Think about it! We were members of a motorcycle group that had an evening outing here. 15 of us walked in at once. I didn't notice any smoke smell. However, I did notice a very friendly greeting by every staff member that we passed. Dated interior? How about warm and welcoming-that's the way I felt in this family oriented resturaunt. Our group settled in and the service was fantastic. It was dinner time and the resturaunt was pretty full. The salads were crisp and fresh and tasted good. Our 15 orders were delivered in a very reasonable time. Every dish that I saw looked absolutely scrumptuous! My wife and my lasagna was some of the best that we've ever tasted. We added our own salt. Since some folks are on a low sodium diet, many didn't. Our experience was very positive and our 15 people walked out happy! "White trash?" you are what you think.

Dinos has been around a long time. You might ask why. It's not fancy (we already know the decor is "funky"), its not gourmet, its not introducing new dishes with a variety of eclectic sauces, and it doesn't show up on hot new "chef run"

I was not impressed with this place. Basically a sell-out restaurant that perhaps used to be good. The location has potential but food was terrible. Loosely based on Italian food, not quite there though.

This restaurant is very outdated in it's decor. Feels like you stepped back to 1970's. The food was just OK.

Dino's is one of first restaurants I remember as a young wife and mother. It's a landmark in Lakewood for many of us who graduated from Lakewood High School in the 60ies. When I think of Dino's I remember the family who worked together to build the business. Three generations of our family continue to enjoy what Dino's has to offer. You always feel welcome and their carry out menu is great.

I like eating here. Everything is made from scratch, the noodles, sauce, pies, even the ice cream. It's a good deal.

Pros: affordable

Cons: needs updating

No salt used in cooking the pasta or the sauce. Absolutely BLAND. Just as the other's said, salad of tasteless iceberg lettuce.

It is a cultural experience seeing the last vestiges of Denver westside white trash enjoy their family favorite. The experience is absolutely genuine.

Pizza is palatable enough to pull you through

I've been going to Dino's almost all my life and they have my absolute favorite pizza! I also love their loaves of Italian bread. In fact, we ordered about 12 of these loaves of bread for my daughter's wedding last year, and everyone kept asking us where we got it.

As much as I love their pizza, I can't say I'm a big fan of their spaghetti (sorry, Dino's). I come from a big Italian family and we are very picky about spaghetti sauce.

I do love the restaurant, though. The waitresses, the pies they sell, their Sangria, and the friendly neighborhood atmosphere of the place itself make it one of my favorite places to dine. Thanks, Dino's, for all the great years of pizza!

This was the worst italian food i have had in a restaurant ever. I told the waitress that the pizza tasted bad...undercooked...toppings were awful...She said "really? Thats ok." Then walked away and had another waitress bring our check. The homemade noodles were ok....but the sauce...and sausage was bland. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Food is terrible. We are there in November 2008 and ordered homemade noodles. The "salad" that came with dinner was lettuce with a couple of carrot shreds, and tasteless viniagrette dressing. The sauce on the noodles was watery and totally tasteless. The service was tepid. The decor is old and dingy. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Dino's has been a favorite for my family for the last three generation. They have been serving great Italian food since the sixties when my mother and father would drive down from the hills to do business in the city. The highlight of the trip for us kids was the stop at Dino's. They serve a variety of food, a favorite of many is the pizza. Many local teams make it their place of choice on team dinners out. My favorite meal however is the Dino's special. It is an Italian sub sandwich served with an amazing Italian sauce on the bread. I usually order a traditional salad with Dino's Italian dressing. The meals are reasonably priced and the service is fantastic. The next time you're out on West Colfax near Kipling, stop at Dino's for a rare treat.

Particularly in Colorado, restaurants come and go like the passing seasons but Dino's Italian Food has been in the same spot for decades and the locals know why.

The homemade noodles are fantastic, as are the meatballs and the sausage. Sandwiches are great, pizzas are stellar and if you adventure to their wine list there are a few fabulous red wines. The salads, while a little "plain" are dressed with the best italian dressing and I just love the crunchy little sesame breadsticks!

The atmosphere is good (hasn't changed much in the last 20 years) and the service can take a while but its worth it for a nice night out and affordable, tasty italian food.

My husband introduced to to Dino's a few years ago - he grew up going there. We don't live nearby but we always make a point to go a few times a year. The service has really gone downhill over the past year. I ordered carryout recently and was told 25 minutes . After 45 minutes I told them I couldn't wait any longer because I had to pick someone up. The man working the register told me it would be 10 minutes more minutes as I had just ordered the pizza. I told him I just couldn't wait and threw a fit when I asked for a refund. I'm sad to say we won't go back.

Pies are best whole and always HomeMade.; The Spumoni Ice Cream is just the Ticket. WISH I WAS THERE NOW!!!!!

As a Colorado native, I have driven past Dino's on West Colfax for over 30 years, yet never managed to make it inside, until tonight. I could have (and should have) held out for another 30 years. I was expecting something very special, seeing how Dino's has been around for so long.

I was excited to see a limited menu. Most entrees are offered as a complete dinner, including salad, coffee/tea or soda, bread for a very reasonable price. I figured they must be very good at doing pasta and red sauce. I was prepared to be amazed.

Oh well.

The salad was a bland pile of iceberg lettuce with a tangled, soggy garnish of shredded carrots topped with a tasteless oil slick of an Italian dressing.

I had the cheese ravioli with sausage for my entree. The ravioli were doughy and the cheese filling completely lacking in seasoning. This starchy mass of tasteless-ness was surpassed only by a red sauce that was so devoid of taste, I was actually astounded. As I forced my way through this plate of bland nothingness, I yearned for the can of Heinz's Four Cheese sauce I had bought at King Soopers for $1.49 earlier this week. The sausage was fine, but it screamed for something to give it some support. It was not strong enough to carry the dish. I ended up covering the dish with stale Parmesan and red pepper flakes hoping to ease the sausage's burden as best I could.

I passed on the bread, but it looked like it had all the character of texas toast. Butter and margarine were supplied on the side in little plastic bins.

The wine list was quite affordable, and my companion enjoyed the merlot, which was a very fair $5.00 for a glass filled to the brim. His comment was it was too bad they didn't add some of it to the sauce!

We didn't stay for dessert, but the list of pies and sundaes, with ice cream made on the premises, looked promising, but honestly, we just couldn't stand anymore disapointments.

I have been going to Dino's for years. If you want great Italian food at a great price, then this is the place to go. The homemade noodles are awesome and the sausage pizza is a must have. Dino's proves that a place doesn't have to be fancy to serve up a great lunch or dinner.

Like so many of the others, I have eaten at Dino's since it was just a take out place. The pizza is good and the sausage sandwich is the best. When I think of home ( I moved away 20 years ago) I think of Dino's! Going back is always a great time!

I think its unfair that Suz has a problem with resturaunts that offer smoking and judges everything else negatively on that basis. Dono's is a neighborhood institution and if it wasn't of the highest quality in terms of food and service Dino wouldn't have been around serving the best pizza on the planet for 40 years!

Reading these reviews set me up for a big let down. You walk in to a smokey lounge - not the smell that I want when heading out for good Italian. The pizza crust tasted like bread dough. Not under-cooked, just bland. Sauce could have been Chef-Boy-R-Dee. Homemade noodles are ok, but again topped with a boring red sauce. Hmmm. I'm puzzled. This was a memorable exprience, but not the kind of memory I cherish.

Dino's serves the best pizza in town. The sauce is delicious and the crust is always "just right." Their meatball subs are fantastic, as are their ham sandwiches. It's been a well-kept "secret" local restaurant for 40 years, and now Dino's original customers are bringing their grandchildren to this great family-owned restaurant.

Dino's has been serving fine italian dishes and wonderful homemade pies since I was a very young child. Mr. Dino DiPaulo was always there, sometimes spending the night in a booth, to make certain that only the very best in food quality and service was offered. Dino's is a Denver institution! I moved to Texas 22 years ago and my family has since left Denver. Whenever I visit Denver, or simply pass through, I definitely go to Dino's...it is one of the things I miss most about Colorado --- quite a compliment when you consider all that Colorado has to offer!
P.S. I love the neighborhood ambience of the place...it has survived many decades of in/out, hot/cold. It is what it is and it doesn't change with the latest look, style or trend...perhaps it is that to which it owes its longevity!!!
