I wish that I could share such a positive adoption story. I do have a wonderful little girl and her birth mother Jennifer is and angel. I never felt like Creative Adoption really represented us as adoptive parents and now almost 8 years later I can say that they show little or no concern about our daughter. I have called many many times never to get a real person or a returned phone call. I have emailed and never received a response. Adoption is a wonderful option, but really research who you are dealing with and their committement to long term communication. By the way this is only the second time in eigt years I have ever called so it is not like I hound them. My daughter wanted to ask some questions about her heritage and we are planning a visit to see her birth mother, but I guess we will do it without Creative Adoptions help.

We have adopted two beautiful boys through Creative Adoptions. Our oldest is now 3 years old and his little brother is 10 months. They are actually full siblings, as the birth-mother and birth-father are the same. We only really expected to adopt one child, but our birth-mom called us last summer to tell us she was pregnant again, and she wanted to keep the siblings together. We were surprised, but in no way could we have said no! Creative has a wonderful, caring, staff. They keep in touch even after the process is complete. We felt so blessed when we finally got the call that we had been chosen by a birth-mother!!! We have not seen the birth family in awhile, but we do call and try to keep in touch. We think it is wonderful that our sons will be able to know their birth-mom and birth-grandparents. They also have a half brother and sister that they will know as they grow up. I would recommend this agency to anyone who is looking to adopt a child, or any birth-mom who is unsure of where to turn. The staff are all wonderful and well trained at what they do!

Problem: Happy couple wants children of their own but can't have them for whatever reason. Has everything a child would ever need and want to grow up healthy and happy: stability, predictabililty, love, family, commitment, finances. What a great place for a child to grow up - they are totally wanted!

Problem: Woman is pregnant and does not have to give what that child will need to grow up healthy and happy, is not ready to take on the challenges and responsibilities of parenthood, or whatever the reason - at the most basic level the child is not wanted. But that doesn't mean they aren't loved - it takes a lot of love to chose to give up a child so they have better options than you can give them.

Answer: It is not about the parents or the birth mother, it is about the child, or it should be. The approach that Creative Adoptions takes makes it about the child. Closed adoptions, abortions, unwed parenting, and other solutions people could chose can often be about the convenience of the people involved, whether it be their financial, lifestyle, or emotional convenience - it often lacks putting the needs of the child before anyone else's needs.

I was a birthmother 24 years ago, long before open adoptions were ever popular. I could not fathom the idea of not knowing where my 2 children (I had identical twins) were going. I wanted to be sure they were in good hands before letting them go, and I wanted to know they would be better off than if I kept them. My story has a very happy ending. I took responsibility for where my children ended up, and I found an awesome couple to take them. Today I have a wonderful relationship with the twins and this couple. I didn't give anything up, I gained another whole family!

I realize not all stories are guaranteed to end happy. Creative Adoptions facilitates all the aspects of giving the birthmother a chance to have peace about her decision not to keep her child, and for the adoptive parents to know all about their adopted child's background and beginnings, and for the child to have all the resources they will need to process, and feel grateful for their situation. I think of what Creative Adoptions does as being the ultimate Youth At Risk Prevention program - instead of being troubled youth who must be rescued out of trouble in their teens, these children have a higher chance of not knowing what it is to be troubled to begin with - they will have a chance to grow up in a loving, stable, and healthy home where they are 100% wanted all along. With this answer, it can benefit everyone.

When you find yourself surrounded by fear and doubt and feel like there is no where to turn, feeling isolated is an under statement. Thankfully, Creative Adoptions can help you feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Making the choice to place my child for adoption was the hardest choice I will ever make. I am thankful for the support and encouragement that I received through Creative Adoptions. I stand today with a bigger heart because I know what it truly feels like to put the needs of others before my own. Creative Adoptions was my answered prayer.

I, like these other reviewers feel Creative Adoptions is a fabulous agency to work with. My husband and I have adopted two beautiful girls from the agency (the oldest will be three in December and the youngest is almost four months old). We still have to finalize the adoption of our second daughter, and Creative has helped us through it all.

Unlike Amy b ?? we can not say that our experiences were painless or quick. We currently hold the (dubious) honor of the longest waiting couple in Creative Adoptions history. We (ok, more me than my husband) had a lot of agonizing days: ??Why doesn??t anyone like us? We??ll be good parents for their baby?, etc, etc. That was for our first daughter, and I can tell you the wait was worth it. She simply wasn??t ready for us before that time. And, no other baby would have been the perfect fit into our family. Our second wait wasn??t quite so long, but again, longer than most. Again, however, she is the perfect addition to our family and well worth the wait. There is a wonderful mystery in the world of adoptions ?? how the perfect matches can be made between people who barely know each other (such as when our second daughter??s birthmother chose us) to matches made a world away in international adoptions. However, I have yet to hear an adoptive parent say that they didn??t feel the match was perfect.

I could go on and on ?? but suffice it to say, the agency has a wonderful, caring staff and do a great job. We not only recommend them to friends ?? but have gone back to them ourselves. Thanks Creative!.

After a long process of researching and interviewing adoption agencies, we chose Creative Adoptions because they stood head and shoulders above the rest -- even during this initial process. They did not judge us. They just did their job lovingly and professionally.

Then, we went through two adoptions with them and they continued to amaze us. Everyone we have worked with, from the founder to each employee, has been so caring, realistic, honest, human, informative, supportive in every way and just plain wonderful. Just like pregnancy and childbirth, adoption is not an easy process. Whomever shepherds you through this process, which is new and unknown to many people, will make all the difference in your new family.

If you are thinking about adoption, you need to select an agency you trust completely with your heart. I would trust Creative not only with my heart but my life. After all, they gave us life -- the life of our beloved child, without whom we would never have been whole.

My partner Karen and I adopted both of you beautiful children through Creative Adoptions. The staff is wonderful, professional, caring and supportive. Karen and I each serve on one of the many committees that is required to run a non-profit. In addition, we are still active with the other 4 families who started the process of adoption and attended adoption education at the same time. I can tell you, because I have seen many of them, Creative Adoptions has beautiful babies and makes beautiful families.

Creative specializes in Open Adoption. The greatest thing about Creative Adoptions is the clear understanding and focus that their client is the CHILD in the center of the adoption. As a result, the people at Creative are very skilled. They approach everything, even the uncomfortable issues, with kindness, and an expectation of mutual respect by all involved. This helps them meet the expectations of all involved.

Two of our three children are adopted and we needed Creative??s support, unexpectedly, five years after our first adoption, and the staff had the history, knowledge and willingness to help! Because Creative Adoption??s counselors allow the time and space for birthparents and adoptive parents to know, understand and appreciate each other, our son has grown up with all his questions answered.

These folks care about what they do and how they do it!

They meet their commitments. Their price is near the high end of the range, but in line with others.

Creative Adoptions helped us build a truly wonderful family. Not only our 3 children, but also our birth families. Our kids know and love their birth mothers and birth grandparents and know that their birth families love them. We all support, love and trust each other and have built a beautiful relationship.

When we first started thinking about adoption 4 years ago, we knew next to nothing and thought that 'open' adoption might be kind of scary. The director and our counselor at Creative helped us learn so much about how great it really is. Knowledge is power and takes away the 'fear' factor for both the birthparents and us....and most importantly will be so vital and necessary for our children as they grow up.

We're so very thankful for Creative Adoptions and all they do!

I have adopted two children at two separate times through Creative and both were easy, quick, non-stressful adoptions. Their caring staff is informative, supportive and walks you through every step of the process in a caring and sensitive manner. Open adoption is the ONLY way to go and I am so happy that I have medical records and family history for my children. I love that they let the adoptive parents choose their birth parents too. You are not pressured into anything and after the helplessness I felt after years of infertility having some control of my family situation felt great!

Amazing organization. Welcoming, embracing, accepting, open, gracious, grateful, flexible, forgiving, empathetic, sympathetic, knowledgeable, highly skilled, honoring, valuing, and valuable. My perspective of Creative's philosophy is that there can never be too many people to love a child, so to exclude the birth family wouldn't make sense.
I am the birth grandparent, crazy in love with my grandchildren, and just the thought of not being able to know them, love them, and be involved in their lives is/was unbearable. Fortunately, Creative Adoptions understands and acknowledges the pain of birth families as well as the pain/need for children who have been placed for adoption to know their birth families as well.
Coming full circle, I've witnessed the pain from my two grown children, adopted from a "closed agency" 24 and 27 years ago,who started as teenagers to search for answers, wanting to know who their birth parents are, wanting to know why they were "given up", rejected, abandoned...and no matter how much love and care was showered on them (and still is), today they are wanting to know "what was the matter" with them that they were so unlovable that their own birth families didn't want them, didn't want to know them. That's a pretty huge void to fill.
Creative Adoptions has the answers. Children placed with Creative Adoptions CAN know who their birth families are, are encouraged to know who their birth families are, and can be involved with the birth families to the extent that everyone is comfortable. Children placed with Creative won't have all those unanswered questions later on in life...on the contrary, they will know it was BECAUSE they were loved SOOO much that they were placed with families who would love them (all parts of them), and honor them (all parts of them) as well as their birth families.
I have been so blessed. I "picked" the adoptive family for my grandson, and at that time...I was raw, doubtful, very sad, and very very scared. Was I abandoning him? Was I placing him with people who wouldn't/couldn't love him as much as I did? Once the placement was final, would the adoptive family's involvement with me also become a finality? Would my involvement with my grandchild be over?
So many unanswered questions, but I drew from, (read that...LEANED on!) the experience, skill and knowledge of Creative Adoptions' employees and the terrific, caring, birth counselor...and took a huge leap of faith.
Today, 3 years later, words would do little justice to the beautiful way things have unfolded and evolved regarding the involvement that I have had, and continue to have, with my grandchildren. My grandchildren's adoptive parents have taught me so much about openness, about unconditional love, about inclusion. And for that, I am very grateful...to the family first and foremost, but especially to the Creative Adoptions Agency that has made this miracle not only possible, but a reality.

They are the open adoption experts! Plus I think they do a great job of always supporting the woman who's experiencing a crisis pregnancy -- regardless of whether she decides to do an adoption or parent her child.
