I happen to be one of those picky clients most hairstylist dont want to have but Amanda has taken care of me for the past 5 years she has gotten me from blue black to blonde without damage! I love my hair color now perfect dimension and color. She listens to you. She works with me till I love it even when I am difficult I have referred over 7 people to her which is big for me. She is my hairstylist for life!

i recently went to the salon for color and was ecstatic about the end results! I saw Amanda and she made the color look exactly how i wanted it to look. My hair had been colored really terribly at a different salon and she managed to fix it... it looks better than it ever has. I LOVE IT! I have referred all of my friends and family to see her.

Just moved here from Chicago and had a hard time finding someone to replace my perfect hairdresser back home and then found Jamie. His cuts are perfect and then he highlighted/lowlighted and it was perfect. He is the best and so glad I found him. My sister in Conifer is going to make the drive to go to him.

For the past couple of years I have been getting my haircuts at Urban Renewal. The staff they have there is great. I originally had a different stylist but ended up with Mia. She is GREAT! I have very thick hair and she understood exactly how it needed to be cut in order to make it manageable and make my cuts last a long time as I only like to get mine done every 3 to 4 months. She takes the time to make sure she understands what you want done and is great at making suggestions to update my look with the current trends. I definitely recommend her!

I've been going to Urban Renewal for 10 years. My favorite stylist is Yvonne Renee. She listens to my request, but will make suggestions as what is most befitting for my features. I've been extremely pleased with my cuts, coloring - even a perm (yes a perm). She shapes my hair until it is perfect - and with a smile.

I have been going to Amanda for almost a year now and i have never been disappointed. Almost everyday someone asks me where i get my hair done because they like it so much. She does the most amazing Blonde, its never brassy or gold, its a beautiful platinum that no one has ever been able to achieve besides her. She also does an amazing cut. I have long hair and she has never cut it too short and the layers are perfect! Im so happy that i found her!!

This salon is very unique, it has a very easy going vibe but you get extremely high end results! I recently went and had an appointment with Amanda. She did a beautiful color on me and was even able to fix the previous stylist mistakes. The cut was also awesome.. its something that i can style myself and it always looks great! i highly recommend this salon!

I recently moved here from Oklahoma and was skeptical to get my haircut since I got my bangs chopped by a hair school student that I go to school with (which I had it coming probably haha) - I got referred by a coworker to Yvonne and I'm not the type to spend more than $20 on a haircut but it was FOR SURE worth it!!! I wanted a cut that was noticeable but yet keeping the same length and she totally rocked it! Also on the website you can mention the 25% off first time! She is FOR SURE worth the money! I will definitely be back!!!!

I brought a hefty task to Urban Renewal: I wanted to take my hair from black to red without breaking hte bank. This required de-colorizatrion as well as a color treatment. Suzze turned my hair from dingy black to beautiful red. And it was totally affordable! I will be back for sure.

So I'm not really the type of guy that usually goes to a fancy salon to get my haircut. In the past I've gone to whatever chain hair place was closest and cheapest. But after years of getting my hair cut by less than stellar stylists that reek of stale cigarette smoke I decided to pay the money and have it done right. The staff at Urban Renewal was awesome and very helpful. When I walked in there I didn't feel judged for being an average dude. Suzee Q did an excellent job cutting my hair. She was super friendly and made me look like a million bucks, which isn't an easy task. If you want a great haircut by legit folks that know their stuff this is the place to go!

I have been going to Urban Renewal since 2004 or 2005. I've gone through a couple of stylists because they had some turnover back in the day, but, luckily, I was handed an appointment with Mia one day and I'll never leave for another stylist now! Mia is the best. She's friendly and fun to talk to, she's patient and takes the time to really do my hair right, and she is great about choosing colors and cuts to make my hair look natural and fun at the same time. I live in fear that she will leave, because I can't imagine ever letting anyone else do my hair. It's a fun, comfortable salon and Mia will give you great cut and color results!

THANK YOU URBAN RENEWAL! I am so happy with my high lites and haircut! I got referred to Urban Renewal by a couple of friends and the outcome was awesome! I have been one of those wandering clients trying out a new salon every time, but I have found my home! Its a great space with the sweetest staff, they all smiled and just had a great vibe! My stylist really took her time in explaining what the best and healthiest option for my hair was. I do admit I did box color it at home a month or so before I had the appointment so she had her work cut out for her!! Long story short it was great and the price was better than i thought it would be...i will definitely be back!

I've been getting my hair done at Urban Renewal for about a year now and i love it! I've gone through so many different styles, colors, cuts, etc and the girls there always take the time to get clear on what i want weather it's funky, sassy, crazy colored, or a little more toned down and classy. Everyone there is so nice and soooo cool, none of that stuffy stuck-up attitude you find at most salons. The receptionist is so on top of it and always finds a way to get me in when i need it! And the awesome chick that does the waxing gave me the best brows of my life!!! I've sent all of my friends there and we all get complimented on our hair on the daily! I don't know what i would do with out you Urban Renewal!

I got my hair cut and colored at Urban Renewal yesterday.

I came in with photos of the pinks I wanted in my hair. The pinks that came out are completely different, and the yellow from the bleaching is showing through in a *lot* of places -- making it a sickly, murky yellow orange. The ends are darker than the rest of my hair, and they're a weird brick red color because of the yellow. I think she should have toned it before dying to get the yellow out and get the paler, cooler pinks I was wanting. The parts that are pink are still a pretty shade, but the rest isn't doing it for me.

What's worse is that I just grabbed the shirt I wore yesterday to throw in the wash -- my absolute favorite shirt -- and found bleach and dye stains around the back of the neck and all the way down the back. I am completely devastated. I can't get that shirt anywhere anymore.

UPDATE: I went in today to have my hair fixed and brought in my shirt.

The good:

I asked for her to put some dark brown in to break up the pink so that the color gradation wouldn't be so obvious. As great as it would have been to have all pink hair, it wasn't going to look good without a bunch more bleaching and experimentation. And maybe not even then. However, my hair looks much better now. The first comment I got on my hair a few days ago was, 'Next time you should go to a salon or at least let me help you.' Today, someone stopped me as I walked out the door and said, 'I want your hair!'

The bad:

The color was still so splotchy that I had my friend dye over it with a dark pink to even it out.

Also, I've shown my shirt to several people who are experts at dying fabric, and it's irreparable. It's also irreplaceable.

The ugly:

The salon owner is refusing to reimburse for the shirt, which I've only ever worn once, because I didn't keep the receipt from 6 months ago. When I asked to talk to the salon owner, she refused to see me, stating that she was too busy.

Pros: nice stylist, good cut

Urban Renewal Salon is an amazing salon! I love the vibe of the salon and its a great location. If your looking for a salon thats not stuck up and snobby this is the place to go. Amanda does my cut and color and i couldn't be happier. its truly one of the best haircuts i've ever had! Im so happy i found her! MIchelle is amazing at eyebrows. I can never leave Denver because I'm now addicted to my monthly waxes. I get compliments all the time. The staff is super friendly and personable. Amanda cuts my hair and she does awesome job. I love this salon and send all my peeps here!

I have been following Yvonne for 3 years around Breckenridge and am so happy now that she came to Denver since I just moved down too! She is soo awesome with my crazy color changes that I like to do and keeping my long hair in great shape! I always get asked about my hair and where I get it done so check her out!! Everybody in Urban Renewal is so sweet and I love the products and the whole look of the shop is really cool!
Capital Hill is now my neighborhood and I am so happy I have a salon I love so close! Check out there new client discounts too!

I have been seeing Amanda for about 8 months and i couldn t be happier! I have pretty dark hair and i love for it to be super super blonde. In the past every where i have gone to get my hair done it has turned out pretty bad. the blonde always turns out really orange and just isnt a pretty color. Right before i was about to give up and just go back to dark i decided to give it one more shot so i booked an appointment with amanda and i am so happy i did!! The blonde is absolutely beautiful, its not orange at all. its amazing how many compliments i get on it.. She is the blonde guru!

I've had 2 haircuts at this salon and I was disappointed on both occasions. I specified that I did not want a short haircut and both stylists cut my hair quite short. I showed the stylist a photo, but my haircut did not resemble the photo. The cuts are not cheap, and the stylists don't seem to listen to their clients.

I'm new to Denver, needed a brow wax and a haircut for my short do but was nervous about who I should see for both. After reading the reviews on Citysearch, I went to Urban Renewal. I was definitely impressed, Michelle did one of the best brow waxes I've had, great shape and great advice and it barely hurt! I was overly pleased. I also had Mia cut my hair, now if you have a short cut you know that not everyone can cut it just right, Mia was great! She gave me exactly what I wanted and it looks great. She even styled it a new way and I love it! The price was good, you get a discount for the first time and the atmosphere was hip and chill. Kudos!

I started going to Mia about 1 year ago and now my entire family goes to her! She's wonderful. She encourages me to try new styles that I always end up loving. I tend to be somewhat conservative (aka boring) with my hair and I appreciate her recommendations and cuts. She's given me great layered cuts and we've been more creative with color, which I love. I get compliments with each new look. My husband and kids also go to her now! My boys have the coolest hair...like cute little skaters...and my husband looks great. Give Mia a try...you'll love her and your hair!

I was recommended to Michelle at Urban Renewal Salon by a friend immediately upon moving to Denver and I have to say that she did the best job I've ever experienced and I have lived in 10 major cities across the country and been to numerous aestiticians in top rated salons. I have been going to Mia at Urban Renewal for two years, and she always does a great job! My hair is naturally light blond, and she has helped me color it every shade of auburn and recently a light golden blond. Every time she takes my natural skin coloring and eye color into consideration, and it never looks fake. She also understands how to cut fine hair and it never looks flat!
The salon is comfortable, everyone is very nice and Mia is great to chill with and just BS.
I am moving to Portland soon and don't know what I'll do!!!!! Mia is the best!!!!!

Pros: Great stylists, good atmosphere, never a push to purchase styling products, Dum Dum suckers!

I went to Urban Renewal to see Mia based on a friends recommendation and couldn't be happier. She has a wonderful personality and can cut hair too!!! I gave her a few suggestions and we came up with a plan then she went to work. I love my hair and will definitely be going back to her for my next cut. If you want a quality cut go see Mia you will get your moneys worth.

I just moved here and went to urban renewal.. after reading all the reviews about Amanda, i decided to try her out and im so happy that i did!! I have long thick hair and don't trust it with just anyone. I started going to UR when Carole was still there. I was devastated when she moved to NY. However I have been going to Amanda for the past year and can't say enough great things about her. She listens and she works with you. She makes sure that you're both on the same page and gives you the best look for you! Wouldn't be caught dead anywhere else! The 2 stylists I've had from UR - Carole and Amanda receive 5 stars plus! Why go anywhere else when you got the best service here regardless of the stylist?

My husband and I just moved here from LA and I was hesitant to get my hair cut, as I'm really picky and am usually disappointed after the cut. I decided to try Amanda at Urban Renewal after reading all the reviews on CitySearch. She was AWESOME!!! i love my cut, she was very attentive and seemed to take the time with my hair (it's long and curly). My husband went to Andrea and it was one of the best cuts for him too! I started cutting his hair in LA because no one cut it right (he has medium length hair and curly- think AF model hair) and was so expensive. We have found great cuts that you don't pay an arm and a leg for!! YAY!!

I would highly recommend getting your brows waxed at Urban Renewal. I've been a customer for 2 years! Michelle the owner is SPECTACULAR! Michelle got me started on Dermalogica products, and she is a wizard at skin care. I also had my haircut by Andrea, she did an amazing job. I like the more boutique feel you get from this place versus being in a huge salon with a ton of gum poppin stylists. You really feel like you're in a special spot when you visit Urban Renewal.

Try to park in front of the salon at the meters on Colfax or for free on Marion. Marion is usually all full at the end of the day, but if you're willing to walk a bit, you'll be fine.

Be sure to make an appointment!

I have been to all the waxing studios in Denver and not been impressed until I got refered to MIchelle at Urban Renewal Salon. Getting your brows and brazilian done is really hard to find a person that excels in both but she does! Michelle reshaped my over plucked brows (by other waxers), had me grow them in so she could give me "the perfect brows" as she told me she would and gave me one of the fastest and least painful brazilian I've ever had! I'm not a big reviewer at all but when it involves brows and pain enough said!
The whole salon is a good environment with great products and if my sister wasn't a stylist I would try out the girls at Urban because everyone I've seen that walks out looks great.
p.s. ask Michelle for dermalogica samples during your wax...she's generous with them.

I have been going to Andrea for a while now and I love her. Not only is she sweet as pie and unpretentious, she is awesome at color and awesome at cuts. I have hard to manage baby fine hair, and yet she never ceases to amaze me. She can do both professional looks and hip looks. She cut my hair drastically yesterday and changed the color to something crazy and hip and yet it still looks very proffesional. Any time I tell her what I want she tells me what will look good with my skin tone and facial structure and we come up with a great color and cut together. Go see her! Also Michelle is the best waxer, especially eyebrows, EVER! And she is so nice! Come here if you are tired of uptight, expensive, pretentious salons that just aren't giving you what you want and dont listen to you and are pushy with products.

UR is great for all their services! I have been seeing Mia for over 2 years now, and i couldn't recommend her more! My hair has crazy texture but she always gives me a great cut with lots of attention to detail! and she takes her time to make sure it's right every time. and Michelle is amazing for any wax you have done. She makes it as painless as possible! Call ahead to book appt. though, she is in high demand! The atmosphere is always comfortable, never the drama i found at some other shops. We currently moved and i still drive from Thornton to downtown for my cuts and wax!

She does my color and my cut.. and let me tell you i have a really hard color to do and im very picky about it! i moved here about a year ago and have tried many different salons and no one could get my color right until i found Amanda! its Gorgeous and i cant tell you how many compliments i get on it. I also highly recommend Michelle for waxing.. she did a beautiful job! Its a very friendly atmosphere and a fun place to spend time in.

I have been in to Urban Renewal for a variety or services. For the best eyebrow waxing ever, you need to visit Michelle she is amazing; low pain and great shape!

Then for a stylish cut and incredible color Yvonne Cole is your girl. She has a tremendous eye for color and a special flair for style. She is patient, friendly, FUN and very stylish. She is great at giving you the cut you want and incredible with stylish suggestions. After 5 years of Yvonne doing my hair I have never had a cut or color from her that I have been less than thrilled with. If you want to look hot on your next night out Yvonne is your girl.

I have been to numerous salons in Denver, including the overpriced ones in Cherry Creek. No one has been able to cut my curly hair the way I like it. A friend recommended Urban Renewal to me, so I made an appointment with Kelly. I was a bit nervous because I have been growing my hair out from a bad cut. Kelly was fantastic! She was patient & a good listener. She went through a few pictures with me, and discussed why certain cuts would or would not work with my hair type. She also recommended that we do a color glaze for shine and conditioning. And let me tell you ladies, I NEVER color my naturally brown hair. When I left the salon, I had soft, shiny, conditioned curls & a beautiful long layered cut that totally suits my face. I'm getting tons of compliments! I HIGHLY suggest you try Urban Renewal and especially KELLY!

Thank God for Amanda! I just moved to Denver from NYC and was stressed about finding someone that could color my hair... I took a chance after reading about the salon and I'm so happy! Amanda listened to me and recreated my ideal color (RED and wow, it's fantastic) , NYC would be proud!

Urban Renewal is a funky, groovey hair salon that exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and fun making the experience pleasurable. Amanda was my stylist and she worked with me to design a cut and color that is flattering; and furthermore, took the time to explain how to achieve desired results at home. Her talents manifested into a low-maintenance cut that is fun, versatile and exactly what I was wishing for and dare I say, the best cut I think I've ever gotten! The combination of high and low lights she used in my hair flatter my skin tone and eye color. I highly recommend Amanda, although I can't say that I saw one bad hairstyle walk out the door. Clearly an overall talented team of professionals. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and expertise that Urban Renewal provides. I will return for future visits and I suggest you do the same.

I have been going to Amanda for about 6 months now and i really love what she does. I went in with color that was far from flattering and she managed to work miracles on it. My color was always something that stylist had a hard time with. It never turned out the way it was supposed to, i have never truly loved my color until amanda did it! I have been going to Urban Renewal for over 4 years, and everytime I am greeted with excellent customer service and a relaxed atmospohere. The salon is FABULOUS! Mia has been doing my hair for almost 3 years, and she is absolutely AMAZING! She is gloriously talented. I never go in with a hair style in mind, and I am constantly changing! I let her use her creativity and talent and I always walk out feeling like a new person. (I actually had my hair done this evening!) Everyone of the girls there treat you with care, and I know that if Mia is not available, I will be in good hands with someone else! I also have my eyebrows done by Michelle, and, man is she GREAT! They took great care of me when I was preparing for my wedding. I just wish I could have packaged them up and taken them with me for my out-of-town wedding! I am and always will be a loyal customer of Urban Renewal.

I was scheduled with MIA at the Urban Renewal for a haircut last weekend. I did not have a particular style in mind, but wanted a change. Go See Amanda!!! she is fabulous.. i went in a little hesitant about my hair because of things that have happened in the past. i told her i was worried and she spent a lot of time going over different cuts and colors that would work with me and my style. we picked out exactly what i wanted and i loved it. she did highllites and a haircut and i couldnt be happier with it. i have never gotten more compliments! i will definently be back to see her very soon.
