Used to be my favorite place for people watching, long islands, and giant skillets of nachos. But I went there last night with some out of town guests, and I was so embarrased at having hyped it up! The menu has changed - now it's just a sub-par overpriced burger joint. Where are the heapings of toppings and fresh fries and lovely plating? Tiny Philly Cheesesteak looked like fast food, skinny chicken skewers, weak cocktails. We'll miss you, Paramount!

Pros: service is good

Have made a few trips to the Paramount Cafe and have found it unsatisfactory each time. The sandwiches are typically bland and room temperature. (Regardless of whether you order hot or cold dishes). Sweet potato fries are good, but not worth the trip.

While the waitstaff is generally good, the bartenders are hard to catch and snotty. When inquiring about the margaritas one night, we were told, "I wouldn't know -- *I* don't drink tequila." That, perhaps, should have been the first sign. A drink later (Long Island Iced Tea (bad) and a Margarita (infinitely worse; all sugar and mix, no liquor)), we both felt sick and decided it was time to leave.

Yes, it is inexpensive, but there's a very good reason for that. If you're looking for a happy hour stop, go right next door to the Appaloosa Grill for the same deals and much, much better food and service.

Pros: Nice location, good waitstaff, decent happy hour

Cons: Drinks make you sick, food is lackluster, bartenders bad

Well firs the pros: Our server was great, she was friendly and knowledgeable, good location to watch the folks on the Mall.
The bad: The food was below average at best. I ordered a bison burger, on the rare side of med-rare. I eat bison quite often, so I was excited to try what I thought would be fresh, local bison. My burger arrived and what taste it did have was not bison, but regular hamburger, but the problem was it was cooked well done!!
The server was apologetic and offered a replacement, and the manager took it off the bill. My wife got the fresh tuna with salad and again it was below average-nothing interesting or flavorful. With so many other restaurants so close by, I would not try it again.

Passed up for a table not just once, but twice, even though the hostess knew we were waiting at the bar. Server forgot our appetizers and the onion rings are the worst I have ever had in my life. Definitely not recommended.

We went to see Etta the last time she was in town. Found ourselves running out of time and didn't want to miss the first part of the show, so we stopped in the restauraunt right around the corner. The prices were a little high but not outrageous, and the beer selection was superb. The food was served quickly, hot, and tasted pretty good. We made it to the show with time to spare, and have been back once since then with much the same result. We like this eatery, and will be going there again. We originally thought the doors to the bar were the entrance to the theater, it looks like a set right out of the sixties. Great atmosphere, and if you sit on the patio, it is also a grat place to people watch.

If you're in the mood for a burger and a beer I couldn't think of a better place than the Paramount Cafe.

They had a free pool tournament on one night and the Coors Light girls were there another. This place always has something going on. I even think they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

The appetizers alone are worth going for, and it gets even better when the entree arrives!

For lunchtime and evening people-watching, the Paramount is the place to be. Patio guests can take in the parade of life and foot traffic---good and bad---that strolls right past along the 16th Street Mall. Granted, the eats are not as…
