I read some of these poor reviews believe, and I can hardly believe my eyes. Yeah, I know some places have trouble from time to time, but I have never had any trouble or a bad meal at this restaurant. To begin with, how can you go wrong

No ( I repeat, NO) gluten free menu. Disappointing since most other Italian restaurants in Denver offer one for those with gluten intolerance. Or at least they offer wheat free pasta. Love the atmosphere, good wine selection but probably

After having driven by this "hidden gem" on a weekly basis I finally made an opportunity to visit when hosting an author that was visiting Denver. Great atmosphere on a Tuesday evening. Seafood Fettucine Speciale was absolutely fabulous. Friends had the Pumpkin Ravioli and raved about it. Amazingly efficient and attentive customer service.

I probably would not attempt a weekend evening visit just because I can see this being a bit more crowded than I like my environment when trying to relax and enjoy company.

Prices range from $9-20. Great portion. Too full for dessert, which is a first for me.

I live in Park Hill and have driven by this place many times and always wanted to try it. I went at 5pm on Friday and arrived to an empty restaurant but was told my party of 2 couldn't sit until we were both present.

Eventually we were seated and our waiter had zero personality and rushed us through our meal. After we paid we had just signed our receipt and were sitting at the table for less than 5min when our waiter came back and said we had to leave because there was a wait. Rude! If thats how they treat their paying customers I will never go back!

Cherry Tomato is one of my favorite places in Denver. It is such a cute little neighborhood restaurant with lots of charm and reasonable prices.

The Carbonara is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I crave it and usually get it every time. The Seafood Ravioli is also very good.

I have brought family here a few times and everyone is always pleased with their meal and the atmosphere.

Totally disagree with reviewer Luis Q. The Cherry Tomato is a marvelous neighborhood Italian restaurant with wonderful food, ambience (it's always bustling, twinkle lights, open kitchen, white tablecloths), and service. The Pasta Felese is my favorite dish (and the kids too.) While the venue is small, if you live in the Park Hill neighborhood, you can call and put your name on the waiting list; when a table becomes available, they'll call you to drive on down. Talk about service!

Went on a recommendation that it was decent Italian food for a reasonable price - Well that could not have been any further from the truth. Being a new transplant from the east coast I should know better; but really it does not take much to make decent Italian food, seriously... Just do not bother with Cherry Tomato, it is not American Italian or any region of Italian cooking. Just stay home and chop some tomato's with garlic add olive oil and put it over some pasta and you have already surpassed Cherry Tomato.

Veggie lasagna was mostly bread crumbs and salt. Could hardly find the veggies. Salt was dominant flavor. Staff clueless; service poor to arrogant. Can't get rid of that salt taste!!!!

We have been going here for years. We have always had excellent food. One of the most consistent restaurants I have ever eaten at. The house favorites like lasagna, pasta felice & the veal dishes never fail to please. Its a cute place with a friendly atmosphere. I do not get these comments about too much garlic. These folks must like really plain food. I think the prices are very fair. $11 for a pasta dish $20 for veal or fish. And now they have delivery, its great after a long day at work when you just want to sit in front of the TV and have a gourmet meal brought to you. The food comes hot and tastes the same as in the restaurant.

Live around the corner, called ahead to get on the list like we always do, usually no problem. We arrive in the 5 minutes we said we would, unfortunately behind another couple. They told the couple ahead of us it would be 10 minutes, they told me and my wife it would be 25 - 30 minutes even though I explained we were ahead of them, and I was looking at a couple empty 2 tops. All the hostess could muster was, "I'm sorry, a bunch of people came in." That was the WRONG answer. We did not stay. We went to the Walnut Room for some great pizza and beer.

Our experience prior to this was only so-so. Waiter forgetting stuff, namely the food. It's going downhill fast. We only go here because it's literally around the corner. Sad, sad, sad.

The food is mediocre, the service slow, and on top of that they added $3 extra dollars on my Visa receipt. I had to dispute the card in order to get my money back. Check your credit card statement before you pay your bills, who knows how many times they have done that before.

While recently vacationing in Denver form NY, I passed by this cute little corner restaurant on the way to the zoo. I decided to stop in with my 2 children for dinner ( after we visited the playground kitty corner from it! How convienent!) I am glad to say we were not disappointed. So cute inside and the kids love it. Plenty of crayons to keep them busy! I ordered the house Pasta Felese which was out of this world! Our waiter was so friendly with the kids and they loved the spaghetti and meatballs! I coming back, with my neighbors kids!

My husband and I have taken friends and out of town family there to dine often, and they always want to go back. The owners and staff are very knowledgeable about wines. The marinara sauce is tops. The chef does wonders with fish. Pasta Felese is to drool over. Chicken Picatta is the best I've ever eaten. I've never experienced bad service. I even had the pleasure of witnessing a young man proposing to his sweetheart one night. Everyone cheered when she said "Yes." You feel like part of a large, loving family when you dine there. And, the food is delicious.

I absolutely LOVE the Cherry Tomato!! The food is incredible. Everything I have had there was awesome and you can tell it was made with the heart and soul of the chef!! I am Italian myself, so I am very choosy about Italitan food, the Cherry Tomato goes above and beyond my expectations of quality, excellent, Italian food.

I went to The Cherry Tomato on Saturday night and ordered the meat lasagna while my wife ordered the cheese tortellini. The tortellini was mediocre at best as other reviewers have mentioned - way too much garlic in the red sauce. The lasagna, however, was horrible. The inside of the lasagna contained no sauce and was so dry I found the entire eating experience to be mouth-puckering. The small amount of sauce provided on top of the lasagna was so salty I could not even eat it. I honestly drank 6 glasses of water with the meal. I've eaten a lot of lasagna in my life and this was by far the worst. I would compare the quality of this lasagna to a cafeteria's lasagna that has been sitting under the heating lights for 3 hours and you happened to get the last burned corner piece. In addition the server was completely disinterested in our table and my concerns about the lasagna. I do not recommend the Cherry Tomato unless you like bad food and bad service.

From the moment you step into Cherry Tomato, you will delight in the wonderful smell emenating from the kitchen and find yourself surounded by great servers. Everything that our table ordered was very tasty and easily our favorite in Denver. The food is very reasonably priced and the wine list offers a wide variety of excellent choices in the $40-$50/bottle price range. The desserts are outstanding! You will be very happy you made the trip! Enjoy.

My family lives in the area and had high hopes for The Cherry tomato. We were disappointed with each course, as even the salad seemed to be very garlicy. The lasagna, noodles and marinara sauce, and the vegetable lasagna were all incredibly flavored with garlic. The food is sub-par, and incredibly over-priced.

It's small. I counted only 17 tables and an additional 7 seats at the small bar, but the set up is nice. The tables are open, the ceiling is high, and the large windows open to the street. Be sure to notice the classic, tiled floors. They are a part of the building and evidence of its history. Combined with gentle lighting and exposed brick walls, the interior transformation is complete.

There is an excellent selection of wines to enjoy with dinner, but I don?t remember any bottles for less than $20, most were more, and some were a lot more. The menu has a number of good, vegetarian choices starting at $8.95 for the simple pasta and sauce. Dinner comes with some nice, homemade bread, but the bread is not made on site. If you want a salad with your meal, you have to order that extra for $5.95. For entrees, we chose the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Vegetable Lasagna.

Both entrees came baked in serving bowls for $10.95 each. The eggplant had an acidic taste I?ve never experienced before, but it wasn?t bad. I?m not sure my waitress brought the right lasagna because it wasn?t quite as described on the menu. The marinara sauce was good, but not my favorite. I found it a bit salty and ?played with? too much.

The service was excellent. They helped give the restaurant even more of the ?neighborhood? feel and make the dining experience even better. The bus staff always kept the water glasses filled and the empty plates removed.
For my overall rating of this restaurant, I give them ?A-?. I grade them up on staff, menu choice and ambience. They have a lot going for them. I will definitely go back for a second look. I grade them down for parking, prices and hours. It is a good, cute restaurant that I think most people will enjoy. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

I used to LOVE the Cherry Tomato, but after two so-so meals there, I'm not sure I'll be back. Last visit, I had grilled salmon. It was something I could make at home - plain grilled salmon, roasted potatoes in the oven, roasted vegetable. Meh. And they used to have the best desserts. Our chocolate cake had Hershey's syrup as the plate decoration. Now, any foodie would recognize that fake chocolate taste. How hard is it to melt some chocolate?

Our waiter was terrible, distracted, forgot our drinks, etc, etc. And it was so loud with prom kids in there, we couldn't even have a conversation. I expect more for these prices!

Foodies beware: the Cherry Tomato is losing its edge.

After reading the editorial review calling the chocolate cake "arguably the best in town," I purchased several pieces for company. My order was ready promptly and with cheerful service, but the chocolate cake was not good at all. It tasted very "storebought," but of course cost about $6 a piece. Even chain restaurants have better chocolate cake than this. I am sure they don't bake it on site, it's that bad. My guests (who happened to be out-of-town family) were shocked that this was the best chocolate cake The Cherry Tomato could muster. On the positive side, everything else in the restaurant smelled delicious and there was a nice summertime ambience. I will go back and try the food -- but no dessert for me, thank you.

An Italian joint that ruins the pasta,
to the Eggplant Parmesan I say: la vista hasta!
The booze it just never arrives -
This is the diviest of all dives.

Quaint and Romantic it might be...
You will never ever again catch me
dining at the horrific Cherry Tomato
My advice to you: don't ever, ever go!

I come to the Cherry Tomato as often as I can, and always leave with a satisfisfaction that can't be matched. The succulent Calamari that's been brushed with crumbs and spices and sauteed to perfection, served over a bed of mixed greens is a perfect way to start the evening. A bottle of their finest Suave (a white wine that is distinctual for its pairing to almost any Italian victuals) and a plate of vegetable lasagna make for a perfect meal. Finish it off with the delectable chocolate mousse centered with caramel toffee and you're prepared to face anything that comes your way! The food is only topped by the experienced and cordial service - sit at the bar while you wait for a table and try one of the bartenders famous quaffs. The Citronic is a mouth-watering refreshment that will whet any appetite!

This was a truly good dining experience.
It nice to go some where where the staff is friendly and you get enough food so you don't walk away hungry. The small place provides great traditional
Italian food cooked by a true italian chef.
The place has great atmosphere and great character. well worth checking out.

The Cherry Tomato has excellent food, service, and prices. I bring out-of-town guests here frquently due to the Cherry Tomato's uniqueness. Everyone I've brought asks to go back the next time they're in town. A great neighborhood restaurant.

My fiancee and I dine here as frequently as possible, and often celebrate special occasions here. We split the Pasta Felice for two, which we both crave in between visits. This and other dishes at the Tomato are excellent, and the service is terrific, the staff friendly and attentive. We have never been disappointed, and we celebrate a lot!

Pros: Delicious Food, Attentive Staff, Great Wine List

Cons: Limited Parking, Crowded, No Reservations

We have dined at both Cherry Tomato restaurants, the original and the one at 3rd & Holly. Exquisite food, excellent wines, and wonderful service. The seafood is melt-in-your mouth perfect! The 3rd & Holly location is less crowded with more space between tables and large windows.
