In Short
Established in 1982, this chain gained a following for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions. Patrons settle into comfortable booths and tables in dining rooms with plants, artwork and décor reminiscient of the villas in the Tuscan countryside. Starters include scampi, sausage or pepperoni pizza, and several soup choices, as well as a signature seafood dip (crab, shrimp, cheese and marinara). Entrees include classics like lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. There are also "Garden Fare" options, which promise 30 percent fewer calories.

Key Points

  • Fresh, delicious Italian food
  • Variety of wine and beverages
  • To Go ordering available

The Inside Scoop

  1. What to Drink - What's spaghetti and meatballs without a glass of wine? You'll find vintages here from Italy, Australia, California and Washington.

Ratings_icons Olive Garden is CRAP IN LAKEWOOD

NATASHA W.

As a General Manager, employees have no right arguing with a customer like DOMINIGO did, you have no right to respond to a customer like this, and i dont understand what gave you the right to respond back to customers complaint like this! You have absolutely no customer skills, and it seems like both complaints were very VALID on my visit, I wish I would of went online prior. Poor customer service, poor food, and your resturaunt is disgusting. If someone EVER said anything about spitting in my food or picking food up off the ground and serving it, I would have a PRETTY decent lawsuit. Something to think about maybe? Sounds like TURNOVER is very much needed for this company. Disgusting.

Ratings_icons Always a good experience

DenverDiner09

Come on, OG - honestly - how much does it really cost to make fettuccini alfredo? $10.75 for about $2 of ingredients is going overboard. Yes, I know that you get salad and breadsticks, but now a tour of Italy is $15.75 - I remember it being about $10 just a few years ago.

Anyway, the Olive Garden on South Wadsworth is always consistent, we have yet to have a bad experience there. Well - I take that back. We did have one bad meal, but after mentioning it to the manager, and expressing our continued belief that OG is a good restaurant, he was more than happy to take the entree off the bill.

I won't complain about OG's food - it is what it is. And they still have the best Alfredo sauce around. But the prices are getting so high that we cannot go there anywhere near as often as we'd like to.

Pros: Consistent, ample portions

Cons: Getting more and more expensive every time

Ratings_icons Hospitaliano... I THINK NOT

eric876

On Monday, June 2nd 2008, my wife and I attended the Olive Garden in Lakewood. Wow, we were greeted by an elderly man with NO sense of Hospitality. He looked like he just steped out of a prison for the disabled. On the way to our FIRST table, we were given a good old "Welcome to the Olive Garden" by an old woman throwing up all over the hallway. For some reason we decided to stay and eat which was probably the worst decison of our lives. We heard NUMEROUS inappropriate conversations between our waiter and some bartender named Rob. Something about sniffing a young females clothes. We also heard numerous profanities coming from all the staff members. I thought when you were hear you were family. All the staff had the idea that the walls were soundproof, which they weren't. We could also hear numerous Hispanics screaming annoying Chants from the back, obviously thinking it was funny. We heard the words "Mas Pan" every 30 seconds which will really ruin a bottle of Principato Rosso. All in all, never ever agian will i step my foot into an Olive Garden restraruant. HOSPITALIANO!

Pros: Good Food, Good Wine

Cons: A Non-Family friendly environment.

Ratings_icons OPPOSITE!!!! bubba is liar

Donamingo

HEllo!! I a Donamingo. I have feelings that are hurt by what is said by Bubba. I thinka maybe thisa bubba had too many beers of the 32 oz. and perhaps a lonely person. He says things that could not be true, i know this because I a Donamingo! Bubba is eavesdropping on these hardworkers and saying thingsa in a differenta way. Does Bubba not have friends of his own for the bar? I assure you these are not the way of the businesses at the olive garden. Thank you for leaving, good job.

Pros: Pasta with a smile

Cons: Bubba

Ratings_icons Spat in the dressing and food on the floor

bubba

Tonight at a bar called Fiddlesticks I overheard a few employees talking about how they spat in the Ranch dressing and have dropped food on the floor before cooking it (some $20 dish). The manager's name is Danielle at the location these employees were having a good time talking about how they treat their customers. The girl that said she spat in the dressing is dark haired but I didn't catch her name. A guy named Rob was the one talking about a chef named 'Donamingo' dropping food on the floor before putting it into the oven. I also heard the girl talking about how the chef from Italy couldn't recall some things because, as she put it, "The ****** in Italy crows this tall".
The employees were also talking about how they are students so we can all look forward to these people being in some kind of managerial position later in life. Good luck eating any decent food anywhere.

Ratings_icons The "Chain Addiction"

italianrob

How could anyone put this restaurant in anything but the bottom ten for Italian food? It's like putting Pizza Hut in the hunt for best Pizza (Don't start). While Olive Garden serves a purpose, it shouldn't even sniff The-Best-Of list. Being here symbolizes Denver's addiction to chain restaurant's.

Pros: Substanance

Cons: Bland food, Generic setting, Typical fare
