I've been going to this salon on and off for about three years and am shocked when I hear of these terrible reviews. I have had Luis cut and color my hair and he was AMAZING! I've never had so many compliments from complete strangers. My main stylist Tessa is wonderful as well, does an outstanding job everytime. Do they bump your appointment if you are late? Sure to a point and how rude of you if you aren't on time! Its a very busy salon have some respect for the stylists there and the customers that follow you. I moved quite a distance from the Centre and have tried to find a replacement but can't, I'm going back. I've always been promptly welcomed, seated, have had friendly service and most importantly walked out of that salon with an adorable hair cut.

I read the reviews before I visited, and have to say I don't understand the poor reviews. The stylists follow their schedules. I did observe a woman who was late, she expected to get right in but had to wait for for her stylist at that point. That is fair, otherwise it would be like a doctor's office. You wait because the idiot in front of you was late is not the way to do it, and she shouldn't have been upset in my opinion. The stylists are always friendly! Luis is a peach, and front line girls are great too. They give each person personalized service, and I have nothing but positive feedback.

I don't even know where to start with this review. I recently went to this Salon to get a great haircut and be in a professional enviroment.....this was far from that. I had called and stated I would like to see a Senior Stylist for a haircut and asked who they recommended, they booked with with a male stylist, I believe his name was Luis. When I arrived the front desk greeted me and offered me a beverage and told me I could take a seat and that he would be with me soon. So, I sat down at the table a began to read. I read for about 20 minutes and was begining to wonder if there was a male stylist there since I had not seen on there. I began to become impatient and went to the front desk to see how much longer I had to wait. They lady said "let me see if I can find him!'' Moments later she returned with a "Luis." He greeted my but he just looked like I just inturrupted his life. He took me to his chair and contiuned to play off that I had done something wrong. We started talking about what I wanted which was a basic trim. He took me over to the shampoo area as we walked past another stylist he said to her "I can't believe this bullsh*t." When he was shampooing my hair I asked him if there was something wrong and he gave this aweful look and said "NO!" He continued to shampoo and was talking to the same stylist from before about how dumb another employee was and how dare she tell him his numbers when she's never here and on about how unprofessional she was and that he should have went off on her. I was thinking "how is this professional?" We went back to the chair and he began to cut my hair. Again, still looking angry and mad about what had happened. At the end he asked if I had styling product and went over what he used. I stated that I wish the cut would be a little tighter and was looking for it to be shorter. He replied, I can cut it shorter or we can reschedule another appointment I'm running short of time today." I asked him if he can just take it a little shorter on the sides. He did but again, making it seem like I was out of line to question his work. He took me up to the front desk and said thanks for coming in (all with this nasty fake look). I paid for my cut and mind you it's one of the higher haircuts I have paid for. As I was paying I heard him say to another employee "that is why I hate to cut mens hair!' I was just thrown back by that! He didn't even clean his station just went to the back like a pissed off little brat.
I will never go back and have told many not to go here! I'm a business owner and I would NEVER allow an employee to have this attitude around my clients. It was apparent he had had a talk about his preformance as he clearly wasn't having it that day!

I wanted to share my great experience with everyone. I am always a last minute appt maker and usually get shot down. . .one would think I'd learn! Today, I called at noon asking if any stylist had an appt right then, or sometime soon. Sure enough the woman who answered the phone asked how close I was (2 min) and said absolutely, come on over! I walked in, sat down with my tea for about 3 minutes and was called right back by Codi (sp?) She was FANTASTIC! Codi gave a wonderful cut and style all while having a great personality. She did the scalp/neck/shoulder massage, freshened up my lips once we were done, and showed me the products she used on me (which I understand is to help sell them, but she did it in a completely informative manner-nothing pressuring what so ever). I will absolutely be returning to Centre Salon, and especially to Codi. Thank you so much, ladies, for making this experience so nice.

Centre Salon & Spa Aveda is wonderful! I have always been well-treated, greeted as soon as I walked in the door, invited to have hot tea, or a cold beverage, and escorted to the waiting room with friendly graciousness. My absolute favorite person who has given me unparelled service from ANY spa I previously went to is Sam--who does my facials. I couldn't recommend her more highly if they paid me for it--which, of course, they didn't. I am not related to anyone that works at this spa either. I am preplexed by their low rating--and how few stars they have "earned"; I can't believe my personal experience would be THAT different from what most people receive on a regular, day-to-day basis.

This was by far the worst salon experience of my life. I was running a few minutes late (the salon is located in a remote area of Arvada) and when I arrived I knew things were not off to a great start when I walked in and was literally invisible.
I went over to the customer service counter and waited over 8 minutes for two other customers who were scheduling other appointments, paying, etc. No one ever acknowledged me during my wait.
When I finally approached the front desk I was told that my stylist would be ready shortly; as I made my way to sit down in the salon to wait, I was literally accosted by the second customer service agent who screamed my name (very personalized) and told me that I no longer had time for color and a cut and would be forced to choose one service as I was late. I was shocked. Astounded. Perplexed. Stunned.

I'd never been threatened prior to a hair appointment before. I agreed to meet with the stylist, her name was Teall, and she told me that she had another client in 25 minutes and could no longer do the hair cut OR color. No services for me. What?!?

I had to schedule my whole work week and day around this appointment due to a very busy schedule. I tried to explain to her that I waited in line almost 10 minutes. This acne-ridden, pompous, prima donna was unaccommodating, rude and snide. She literally rushed me out the door and I was still stammering as I was ushered out.

I've been to countless salons in the Denver area and greatly enjoyed my experience @ the Aveda downtown so I thought this would be my "North Denver Aveda" substitute. Sadly, I couldn't have been more wrong.

Centre is exclusively Aveda. So quality of products sold is very good. Also very expensive. Some stylist are good others not so much. Either way you are going to pay around $200 for cut and color. Be careful who you use as a stylist. Their scheduling leaves alot to be desired. I have been delayed as much as 90 minutes for a scheduled appt. The better stylist also double book clients. If you don't mind paying top dollar for your hair with sharing your stylist time with another client you will be fine. Keep in mind that this double booking usually means a longer appt for you as they are cutting one clients hair while you are processing with color. Timing has not worked out right for me in a timely manner in over 2 years. For the money there are probably better options. They also claim to be a spa. While they do offer spa treatments I would hardly call it a spa experience. This salon does mostly hair and eyebrow/facial treatments. There are massage rooms however it is not a complete spa experience as you might expect from visiting other true spas.

This "Aveda Salon" is an absolute joke! I have been a long time customer and have specifically used the threading and facial services for over 4 years. While the people who provide these services are quality, I have decided to stop patronizing this salon as the customer service (front desk/reservations) is appalling. For the last 7 months I have personally witnessed a complete disregard for the customer. Appointments are never on schedule and in some cases have been twice the wait of the actual service that was to be provided. No explanation or advance warning is given and when you voice a concern, no one seems to care. Don't even bother complaining to the manager who apparently has the brain of a pea and the personality of a door, unless of course there happens to be a young gentleman she is helping and then she is full of responsiveness.Do not waste your money or frustration. Treat yourself somewhere worthy (especially given that you will pay the same prices). Money and time are too precious and should be spent only where people realize this.

While most of the reviews on this site are complementary, I encourage reviewers to check other websites, you will find I am not alone.

Centre Salon in Arvada is an Aveda salon. It has a very upscale modern decor and sells a large variety of products for hair and skin. They offer some unique services--for example, you can get your eyebrows threaded, rather than just waxed. Threading is an Indian technique, which is less painful than traditional waxing.

The salon's services prices are a bit high. I would also prefer that they have a better waiting area in the front (although the back one, if you are shown to it, is quite comfortable). Parking is ample.

PROS: Unique spa treatments
CONS: Pricey

I had a great experience with Tessa. She made my hair look absolutely fabulous. The people at the front were friendly, and the salon is very relaxing. I have high expectations for Aveda, and Centre met them. I would feel comfortable going to anyone there for my hair!

I have always had a great experience at this salon. They always offer water/tea/hand massage and have many options for facials, pedicures, massage, etc. I can only speak for my stylist (she's the only one I've used) but Kari Rosckowff is VERY good. She's edgy if that is what you are looking for and listens to what you are wanting to do with your hair. I am more conservative with my hair and she has never pushed me to do anything I am not comfortable with. I am always pleased with how she does my color/cut. Thanks, Kari!!

She's edgy if that is what you are looking for and listens to what you are wanting to do with your hair. I am more conservative with my hair and she has never pushed me to do anything I am not comfortable with. I am always pleased with how she does my color/cut. Thanks, Kari!!

I've been Promila's client at this spa from the very beginning and I feel like the spa is running with her amazing friendly attitude, her patience w/clients & her awesome services such as threading, facial and pedicure. Promila won the editors choice award in 5280 magazine and she truely deserves more than just this award! Her warm welcoming nature keeps bringing me back to this spa regardless of other poor services & staff!!! You're truely awesome and I would highly recommend everyone to atleast just once try Promila and I can guarantee you will become her permanent client! I drive all the way from Parker just for Promila! She's an expert in her work & extremely experienced! Aveda should hire more experienced & talented staff like her!!! I never let anyone touch my eyebrows...this is how much I can trust her w/my face!

Pros: best threading & facial service in town!

Just terribly pretentious without any reason to be so. The stylists talk trash to each other while you're having your hair cut or colored, and if you ask for details (like what color base or strength of developer they're using) they won't tell you, like it's some big secret. They're OK at cuts and color, but nothing special. The attitude there is that they're an uptown Manhattan salon when they're far, far from it.

Aveda Spa - what a joke, had to wait for 20 min. for a haircut and then wait again while he finished up another customers color, - Luis needs to learn time management skills aka customer service, I was referred by a friend when I was in a jam and needed a cut when my regular stylist was on vacation ---friend said he was OK but be prepared to spend up to 2 hours in the salon for a cut -- front desk gals were not very helpful. I was put on hold twice while trying to make the appointment. They tried to refer me to a junior stylist who I heard was terrible - Luis's cut was OK, but not worth the $$$, arrogance, and time spent in the salon. Normally in a spa it is relaxing and calming, Not here all I heard were the employees gossip about each other and rant - not the most relaxing salon/spa experience -- I expected more from an Aveda Salon.

I recently went to Centre Salon for a new look. I was so nervous! I spent all day looking at pictures of what I imagined my hair could make me look like. When I scheduled my appointment Blanca was very optimistic that Andrea my stylist was the best person to see for my transformation. Threw her reassurance she explained to me how she had just recently wanted a change herself and had Andrea work her magic on her. She could never be happier herself so I trusted her recommendation and booked the appointment with Andrea. Upon arrival the usual greeting and consultation I was warmly embraced by Andrea's up to date style her flawless sense of humor and more importantly her smile is so genuine I new I was in the best chair. We looked at pictures together and her ideas seemed to match mine. She made some suggestions, which I would have never thought of on my own. She looked me in the eye the entire time so I new she was listening to what I wanted! She was ready to create. The shampoo and scalp massage where amazing and she even educated me on what I should be using to guarantee that my hair shined and looked "fab" always! After the service she took time to show me how I would be able to create my new style at home on my own. The best part was she even showed me 3-second tricks to do to my new style to make it look different without spending time to do so! I was fighting back tears when she turned me around, I looked ten years younger and might I add so sassy! I thought she had done enough good when she surprised me again with her knowledge of makeup and took an extra 5 min. to put some color on my face which again made the look that was amazing even better. My experience with Andrea was one of the best I have ever had at a hair salon. I HIGHLY recommend her and her cute-ness! I wish I could thank her more for boosting my confidence and making my husband get up off that couch and say, "wow you look gorgeous"

Cons: Not a lot of space between Stylist station

WOW! What can I say about the stylist at this salon! I was in the area and some girlfriends said I needed a new look & should try this Salon that was in the area. I've been really picky about my hair, since I'm in the public eye, so I was really nervous. I didn't make an appointment and just walked into the salon. I asked if there was any openings for today and that I wanted to see the best stylist they had, again, wanting to ensure that I would get an amazing haircut. The receptionist stated that she would recommend Luis. When I met Luis he was very upbeat, trendy, & professional. I showed him what I wanted & he was very honest & told me that he liked my choice, but then showed me a different cut & explained to me that with my bone structure & the texture of my hair he thought this would be a better look. He reassured me that if I wanted that other hair cut he would be happy to do it for me! I told him to do what he thought best. He took me back to his chair and gave me the most amazing scalp massage that I have ever received. After the scalp massage, he took me back and washed my hair. I wanted to color my hair so I asked Luis what he thought. He smiled, and said, "you have great color, but we could make it more lively with a few highlights." When he was done he turned me around and asked what I thought . I got up and gave him a BIG hug! It was the most amazing haircut that I have ever received. The color really looked fresh and new. After I calmed down he took me over to the makeup and touched up my makeup. I left the salon and went Downtown to meet up my friends for some drinks! They were amazed at how great I looked. They said I was a different person all around. I will continue to see Luis and recommend him to anyone out there. I'm not a Stylist but he did such a great job on my hair that it looks great everyday and even though it's been a few weeks since I saw him I STILL get complements on my hair! Thanks for a great experience Luis!

Pros: Great Stylist

Cons: NONE

The price of my haircut went up in two days (from the time I made the appoitment to my coming in). Only Aveda salon which I have not been offered a hand, scalp or shoulder massage. I have curly hair& am expert on what looks good for me. Stylist wouldn't listen. I had to allow them to straighten it for a half hour before she was able to cut it. 10 years of air drying my hair for health and shine down the drain!--I got the impression stylist didn't trust herself with curly hair--(seeing which way it curls, cutting With the curl). In the middle of my appointment I was told to go in the back room because my stylist had another haircut. The room was warm and unpleasant--they were also doing nails in there--smelled of chemicals. Once escorted back to the front area I was told (not asked) how comfortable it was back there. Started to straighten my hair and left me with my hair half done, so she could do a "child cut". As I was leaving, didn't ask, just slathered on powder/blush on my face and eyes. Then tried to sell me on the makeup on the way out! A strange experience. Get your greedy little acts together girls! This diva is going elsewhere! My co-worker heard about my experience. She relayed that she also had a bad experience a few months ago--she was dissatisfied with something & didn't have a chance to get a refund or get it done over, as managers were rude and unprofessional. If you are not happy with things and try to make it right--the way it's best for you-they are uninterested. Try the Aveda school in downtown Denver or Pompadours in Boulder. They are truely expert at what they do. One last thing: when I sat down my stylist commented that my hair looked uneven. My gorgeous long curly locks had just been trimmed by the Director of the Aveda school herself 8 weeks ago and was looking good! Oh, my style here? Just ok; it's really meant for someone with straight hair--only 6 months to grow this mess out! This salon won't last long.

Cons: Poorly trained in customer service; need to learn: the customer is always right!

Classless, unprofessional group of money-grubbing children running the place. Upon arrival I learned that the price of the haircut and coloring was $30 more than I was quoted over the phone. This told to me After they began working on my hair. Would not honor the quote.

Stylist Carissa seems to know only one cut and pushes you to get it. Attempts to consider other options were met with agitation. She said, " just trust me." She didn't have the Aveda color wheel that I've seen in every other salon. So I had to "trust her." I didn't get the color I wanted. Throughout the cut she seemed to be lobbying for a big tip by mentioning several times how she's struggling. When I asked about a piece of hair in the back which seemed uneven, she impatiently said, " you have a perfect cut."

I was in tears when I left. My husband saw that my hair didn't look like it had been colored & urged me to go back in and ask for a recolor. Angela, the Sat. manager told me to come back Mon (they were closing).
She asked me for my previous hairstylist's name so she can call her and ask for the "formula" so they can color my hair as I desired. I complied.

On Mon. I called another manager, Carla, and said that it would be impossible to come in for the recolor with Carissa (that day) because 1) I was about to go to a dentist's appt. and then getting ready for a 3-week trip on Tues & had no time & 2) that I didn't want Carissa to recolor & wanted, instead, a refund, so I could get the color redone at another salon while I'm away, before my holiday plans. Carla replied that she didn't care about anything I was saying, or that I was dissatissfied, and that she now had "proof" (the other salons formula) that it was the right color. She would not let me explain that I tried to tell Carissa to leave the color on longer for the richer color I desired.

Should have offered me a recolor when I returned with someone more experienced.

Pros: Aveda products

Cons: Abusive, unprofessional, pushy, tactless and immature staff

I was very specific - said I wanted the exact same cut as I had now, just trim it. I said I was trying to grow out all of my hair except that in the very front (bangs, face trimming). He said, I have a great cut for you. I said again, I just wanted it trimmed up - that's it! He turned my chair away from the mirror so I couldn't see a thing he did. And then proceeded to cut almost the entire top layer of my very long hair short. We're not talking layers here. He did this around my whole head almost! So now I have long hair and then almost a bowl cut of short hair on top of it. Had I been facing the mirror, I would have stopped him the moment he started cutting back there, but he didn't let me see a thing. I'm so angry - I'll never go back there again. I think his name was Luis. OH! And this was after I asked specifically when making the appointment to be given a master stylist. I should have suspected something was off when every person the receptionist suggested that could meet my schedule was a "master stylist." The master stylist cut cost $55. The cut I got cost $30. I'm thinking he was no master stylist. I'm so horrified at what he did to my hair.
