We searched every dealer in the mountains and in Denver for a fireplace and chose Colorado Comfort Products based on their family-owned and friendly atmosphere. Their showroom is a small, no-frills outfit, but it's how they keep their prices low. They carry the top manufacturers, such as Mendota and Napolean. \r\n\r\nWe ordered a unit and it was ready to be installed within 3 weeks. That's when the problems started. The contract they have is very non-descriptive, so be careful! First, Co. Comfort gave us the incorrect spec sheet to give to our contractor who had to frame the unit before installation. We ended up with a design that was not our initial choice. After some negotiations, the owner gave us a discount for our troubles. Second, their installers are NOT licensed plumbers or electricians, so if you have an electric permit pulled, you'll need a licensed electrician (we learned the hard way - Co. Comfort's installer did it wrong!). The contract states that the costs include installation, which should pass inspection, but if it doesn't, they'll tell you it's your responsibility to hire your own electrician! Finally, one of the components we purchased doesn't work. The fan will sometimes turn on in the middle of the night and run for hours (even when the fireplace is off), when it should shut off automatically when the unit falls below a certain temperature. We've called numerous times (at least 5!) to schedule a service visit, and they have been short with us and refuse to call us back to put us on the schedule.\r\n\r\nIf we do not get our unit serviced within the next couple of weeks, I will be contacting any business agency and anyone else I can in order to prevent this kind of poor business conduct from affecting you! Stay tuned!
