years ago i had taken my clothes to the snob shop only to be turned down with the person at the desk telling me they needed to be a bit newer (they were 2 to 3 years old) they also had rules that everything was to be on hangers and dry cleaned which made sense to me. again i was turned down and gave up going there. before the snob shop up and closed in the middle of the night i had been there several months before and there where old items-8 - 9 years old that were out dated and in need of cleaning. i have worked in retail at the cherry creek mall and realized that they didn't have a clue of what was IN and what was dated. they were rude and hopefully they learned something as they have reopened. there new store is small and charming -they need to be nice to everyone who walks in there store and realize they might have burned there bridge in denver with all the thinking they are holy are than thou attitude.

Pros: beautiful clothes

Cons: a bit overrated

They told me they were sending me a check for a Jacket I sold there. I never recieved the check. I call to find their number is disconnected, and now the Shop is Closed. Bad Karma.

I have consigned so many clothes at the Snob Shop. I am more of a consigner than a buying customer; but have purchased some fabulous pieces from this super great store. I have done business with JoAnn for nearly the entire 25 years she was open. I never had one problem or issue with her pricing and selling my items. She is a fine individual of great moral character. She always paid me like clock work. I really do not understand these complaints about payment. I believe, since I never had one problem, that these people are unreasonable and unhappy, by nature. Please, JoAnn, re-open at a new location as soon as possible. I will love to bring in my high end clothing and accessories to you to sell. You have a great history with me and many, many other non-whiners in Denver. I would not hesitate for a minute to do business with you again. It is a shame that it seems that you only hear from complainers with the negative comments. Notice that in comparison to your huge customer base, this is only coming from a very small percentage. That means the rest are happy and love you!!! I will be on the lookout for a new store opening -- please contact your loyal database of customers. You don't need the headaches of these few unhappy people. I strongly feel you can't make them happy no matter what! Maybe it's a blessing to you that these disgruntles weed themselves out of your store permanently.

Pros: I love the Snob Shop. All positive experiences

Cons: JOANN, you MUST open another store ASAP

This is a consignment shop to avoid if you are at the consigning end of the equation. \n\nI consigned three never-worn pair of Cole Haan shoes in September. They were disdainful at intake, and in retrospect, I was sorry I had left them there. They were very firm at this stage that if they didn't sell by December 11, and I didn't call them by December 11, they would donate them to charity. \n\nI called on December 7 to inquire if they had sold. I was told they had not, so I said I wanted to come in and get them. The woman who answered told me they had to ""pull them"" and she would call me when they were ready. I said I was leaving town and needed to pick them up Wednesday and she said she would do her best to have them ready by Wednesday. \n\nI arrived at the store at 2 on Wednesday and inquired about the items. The woman who waited on me -- I think her name was Charlotte -- was polite, but seemed confused about where they might be. She consulted the owner, Joanne, who not knowing I was in the store, had a minor meltdown at being asked to retrieve the items without more notice. When she realized I was standing there, she tried to recover, but her annoyance was evident. They both seemed confused about where the items might be, and said it was ""Hilde's task to pull these"" & that she was off today and that they would call me back when she came back in. \n\nI asked if the items were on the floor and offered to look for them. Well I could do that, they said, but it could be that they were on layaway or maybe even had been sold and the paperwork just hadn't been completed. I did question Joanne about whether the items had ever been on the floor. I also asked that if they were sold or on layaway, why the records didn't show that. She then launched into an emotional tirade about all the ""bad things that had happened in the last few weeks"", and that they were behind in their work. She also told me her cat died the day before. This exchange was loud and not pleasant and there were a number of customers near by -- I couldn't believe she was carrying on the this non-businesslike way instead of just trying to find the shoes. I asked Joanne to look in the layaway area and she refused. Charlotte in the meantime found one pair of shoes in a grocery bag -- it does look as if Hilde had pulled this pair. However, they couldn't find the other two pairs. \n\nBottom line, Joanne asked me to leave the store and said she would call me when they straightened it out. I refused to leave without the shoes. Then she said she would just ""pay me to get me out of her store"". I said I would prefer to have the shoes back. She said she had ""no idea"" where they were, and she'd rather lose money than have me in her store. I agreed to take the money,. She then fiddled around on her computer for 10 minutes, and then said she had to go into the back room to ""print the check"" She came back 20 minutes later with a receipt, and said she would ""cash her own check"" for me, opened the cash drawer and gave me $51 in cash. This is less what they would have cost even if they sold in December, but not by much. At this point, I decided she was completely nuts and was glad to get out of there. \n\nAfter reading reviews of other consigners' experience here and on other review sites, I'm convinced that that Joanne is extremely incompetent, engaging in low level fraud, or just plain crazy. Hard to prove, but who's to say merchandise is not held until until the three-month contract expires? Their disdainful attitude at intake prepares you for 1) it probably won't sell & 2) you might as well as just donate it to charity. Once they think your gone, what's to prevent then form showcasing the merchandise at a later time, thus avoiding paying the owner at all.\n\n

I am a consignor and cannot get my payment check for items that were sold for weeks now. Do not consign with this store. There are plenty of other stores around that much better and they will pay you on time. The store owner JoAnn MacDougall is rude and have short attitude. It?s just not a good place for consignment.

DO NOT take anything of value here. They will sell your stuff and not pay you for it. I have been trying to get money from them for months. I should have taken my stuff to the Goodwill...at least it would have been a tax write-off.

I visited today and bought two tops. They are overstocked and here's a little secret. Some of the Cherry Creak boutiques are sending their overstock to the Snob Shop. Yes the economy is causing people to take drastic measures. I couldn't believe the amazing variety of brand new clothing. I recognized some labels from a shop in Cherry Creek that I used to shop. Everyone is in the same boat these days. Now you and I get to benefit from the deals. I bought two tops and one jacket. I'm going to change the buttons on the jacket with some from an old Chanel suit. \r\nThere was no presure to buy, the prices are automatically discounted every 30 days and the tags have the date they were brought in. I just couldn't belive the deals. I would much rather get a well constructed piece of clothing than the Made in China junk from the stores. Drop by and be prepared to try on lots of cloths. \r\nThe only complaint I have is the store needs better lighting. It's located near the Safeway on 6th Avenue.

Cons: Lighting is terrible.

I'm not really a big fan of consignment stores, but this one is different -I like it. The times I have been there, it has been hit or miss with their inventory, but I did find my favorite boots there: Joan and David- never worn before and obviously at a fraction of the cost they would have been at the Joan and David retail store. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the store is large.

I have shopped at The Snob Shop for years. I love this store. They get consigned new and slightly used items that run the gamut. Of course, they stock what is consigned; but consists of everything from active wear, jeans, accessories, office attire, to evening gowns. Designer items include Chanel, Gianni Versace, Dolce & Gabanna, Roberto Cavalli, and many more. The July sidewalk sale is the place to be -- lots of great bargains. The owner, Joanne, is one of the nicest business owners I have ever met -- she is awesome!. I frequent this store as often as possible. It is not a department store, so of course, you can't predict what the inventory will be; but it has always been a good place to shop. I still have some pieces of clothing that I bought there several years ago that are still amongst my favorites. I have purchased items there that are unique and will be staples in my closet as long as the fabric lasts. Happy to give 5 star rating! I have always found the staff to be courteous and helpful. You must stop in to see for yourself!

I would like this store, if I was really into labels. They had a lot of cute designer items, but at a lower price. Last season's overpriced shoes? At the Snob Shop for less. As for customer service, one women really paid attention to me, even though she was helping others at the same time. She showed me around the store to make sure I knew where everything was. As for the other employees? Simply looked at me as if I was in their way.

I've used The Snob Shop several times in the past to consign clothes and had relatively decent results. Sadly, I can no longer recommend consigning with this establishment. They sold several items and have not paid the amount owed me. First, they simply didn't send the check. ""Reminder"" phone calls didn't net results, either. The last conversation I had with the owner , she promised payment within a couple of weeks--the check never arrived. \r\n

The clothes were fine, and there were some nice labels, but styles were a little mature (i.e. St. John). The selection of shoes was not bad at all. Prices were fairly high (lots of $100+ jeans) with a few reasonable bargains thrown in. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The shop does not look that nice from outside, but I was pleasantly surprised by the nice high end items they have. Everything is in great condition, and most of their jewelries are brand new! \r\nTheir prices are fair. Their staffs are also extremely nice and helpful. The only thing I don't like is their basement -- it's kind of small, and the ceiling is so low that it made me uncomfortable. But you don't have to go down there. All the good stuff is on the first floor anyway.
