This place is pretty good. It is always busy and the food is consistently tasty. They have a lunch buffet that looks good. We have had the pizza and baked ziti for my kids. It's a fairly inexpensive, family restaurant. You should check it out.

This place produces a lot of pizza and is crowded with people gobbling it up. The pizza is OK to good depending on what you order. My son likes the pizza with pineapple and ham. There is usually a line on Fri and Sat and this is not the place to go if you are looking for a quiet, laid back pizza joint.

Our family has been going here for years and they have fantastic pizza. We have had many extended family dinners out on the patio.

Best Pizza in town, order the Howdy Special and you won't be disappointed. This is a neighborhood bar near Sloan's Lake. They have been in business for ever. There is patio dinning year round.

So many good times here...sad that one employee can dampen years of good times. Arrived at 11:01, no lunch, workin all day, and Cary kept pointing at the clock when I begged for anything, the kitchen was still hoppin, people running

The food here is great and the service has always been good. Sometimes it's a little crowded but other than that it's a hit for us.

Ya, went there on a Friday nite after the Rockies Game to grab a bite to eat, cause i was craving there pizza/beer but to our astonishment they had locked the front screen door and turned out the coors neon light but there where still customers still inside and it looked like it was business as usual, so that upset me that they locked us out by sending a message they don't want our service, and who ever heard of a bar taking a 3 day holiday break during the busiest holiday of the year, well thats the message it had on its screen door on the 29th-31st, well i just lost all interest on them, so they wont get my business,or my money for sure....

Pros: Good Pizza

Cons: Inconvience for the Customers

.

Waited in a line that was out the door for 45 minutes. Not one person asked if we would like to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited for a table. We sat ourselves down at the bar and waited for another 15 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge us. Finally we got seated and discovered that we were seated before the folks that were waiting before us. How awkward is that? Took over an hour to get our two pizzas and one was soggy and obviously fell off the peel before it hit the oven since all of the toppings were on one side of it. The manager didn't even apologize when we refused to pay for that pizza. We needed to eat out after because half of the meal was disgusting.

This place used to be very good. I have recommended it to a number of people and am now sorry that I did. It really is too bad that I feel compelled to write this bad review. I will check back in a couple years and see if they have improved on their customer service.

Pros: In the neighborhood, Beer

Cons: Service, Food

My family and I hadn't been there for a while. We should have known when we pulled up on a Friday around noon and there was tons of parking available. We sat in the bar and then realized there was a patio with a buffet. We should have stayed where we were (maybe). The buffet was pathetic, the cole slaw tasted like old shoes and the pizza only came about one every 20 minutes. I could have had a better buffet in my kitchen. What the heck has happened? That was such a great place to go. Maybe we should have stayed in the main bar, but that was pretty empty too. Sad!! We won't go back!!!

We ate at the Edgewater Inn on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. We went early because we know it gets busy. We ordered the Howdy pizza. Because we know that the pizza takes awhile we ordered a dinner salad and a cup of soup. We asked for water twice. The waiter came back and asked if my husband wanted water too. Got the wine and beer before the water. After 45 minutes, I asked the waiter if he remembered that we had ordered soup and salad. He told us the kitchen was backed up. One hour afer we sat down we got our soup and salad. We were still waiting for our pizza when the waiter brought our check. My husband reminded him that we ordered a pizza, the waiter said he would put a rush on the pizza. Another 25 minutes. No offer of any type of compensation. I looked around and there was a line out the door but no food other than appetizers was being served to anyone at the tables. What is going on with this restaurant? Is it the disorganization of the kitchen and waitstaff? Two hours we were there. When we were leaving we remembered why we had not been there in a few years. We like the place, we love the pizza, we hate the inexcusable wait.

Had to move away from Denver awhile back but I still (and forever will) be Jones'n for pizza at the Edgewater Inn. Make mine a Howdy Special with plenty of tall frosty draft beer to go with it ! ! Great neighborhood spot that still gives me the feeling of Denver how it used to be.

I love Edgwater Pizza however the lunch buffet needs help - if you are like me you have more or less an hour for lunch. We went yestyerday and spent the majority of that waiting for a pizza to come out - then they only bring one for a restaurant full of people - mostly men! In my opinion, $11.00 for one peice of pizza, a salad, coke and tip isnt worth it.

Edgewater Inn is great. Saying this as a long time customer. They have really good pizza and it is VERY local. It has been over talked about becasue it is sooooo good. The pizza literally melts in your mouth. The sweetness is my personal favorite, the howdie is really spicy and the pinnaple and ham is really good. It is an Edgewater tradition to the people who live there. If you are looking for a nice sit down pizza place...dont know why would, dont come here as you will be sadly disappointed. This place is little and packs the people in, but it is way worth it for the pizza that you have to eat with a fork! My recomendation is to order the thin crust.

I was telling one of my suppliers that the only halfway decent pizza that I'd found in Denver was Parisi on Tennyson and 44th. He said that he loved the Edgewater Inn. I wasn't expecting an authentic pizza like I might find in New Haven or New York, but I hoped for a decent neighborhood style. My wife and I went two times. First, the place is always busy and very noisy and very working class. Let me really emphasize the noisy. Service was poor both times. Pretty quick to greet, but nothing else. We ordered the sweetness on the first visit and found a too thick and uncooked crust (crisp on the outside but about 3/8" thick in the center with the top 1/2 raw because the oven wasn't hot enough, the crust was too thick, or there were too many ingredients--or all of the above. We waited a few months and decided to try it again, but to order a pizza with fewer ingredients in the hope that they'd get the crust done at least. We sat on the patio this time because it seemed quieter. It wasn't. Service--well when the first burned pizza came out after 45 minutes, we didn't even get and apology. I called the waitress back and asked if we'd made a mistake ordering when they were so busy. She said, "Yes, when I saw how bad your pizza was burned, I wondered what the chef was thinking, would you like a free drink to make up for it?" No, we'd like a new pizza. She came back a few minutes later and said we can do it in 25 minutes. I stayed with my water and my wife with her iced tea. 25 minutes later we got a near raw pizza, which we said was fine. We didn't eat much, paid for it--and tipped I'm ashamed to say. We've spent the last two days home and sick. My vote is to stay away unless this is what you think good pizza is all about.

Pros: None that I can think of

Cons: Poor food and poor service

.

The service was average. They were quick to greet us and wiped down our highchair before bringing it to us (a plus), but the server was less than friendly. We ordered the veggi cannolis (similar to a calzone), which was great until we discovered that they use canned mushrooms which turned us off from the experience. I would go back, as the food was really tasty, however, I would recommend asking them to hold the mushrooms.

I grew up in Denver and the Edgewater Inn has made one of the best pizzas in Denver for as long as I can remember. After I got married my husband and I would get one of their pizzas about twice a month. I moved from Denver about twenty years ago and I still think about their pizza and wish I could get one. Great pizza.

Go back in time to a killer place. Small old time bar with a midwest feeling. They have a great patio that is open all year; inclosed and heated in the winter. The staff makes you feel welcome and they have great friendly bartenders. The pizza is amazing try the howdy pizza. They are always busy and the pizza may take a bit but it is worth the wait. The same family has owned it since the 50s....great neighborhood place! They also have busses that will take you to and from Invesco during bronco games for a small fee......check it out ! you will love it!

As you maybe know, Food Snobs a Native and been eatin pizza everywhere in this great Cow Town since he was a kid..... 50 + yrs. There are so many good joints and each one so different. This spots been around as long as I have, same owners ... and I dont think the pizzas changed alot except ingredients have continued to be better. Always consistant, always good service and always friendly. This small neighborhood spot tends to pack um in, but , you can always get a seat. The "Specialty" pizzas are pretty good, and just a tad different than the ordinary. I kinda tired of the HOWDY SPECIAL some years ago, and now just build my own. Mrs Food Snob's favorite thing here is the salad and I agree. They are fresh, crisp and huge. A couple a salads, a small pizza and 2 or 3 cold beers makes for a terrific weekend lunch at this hidden spot in North Denver.

I lived in Edgewater for 10 years, so I am a little bias. Even though their pizza in my opinion is alright, overall it is pretty good. one thing I do like is the scooners of beer. if you are a beer lover, you will understand. it not the bright cheery place a lot of the restaurants are now a days. in fact you might call it a little rustic. to me that is appealing. the staff have always been nice to me. on a friday night, it is warm and inviting. gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling (or is that the scooners of beer. LOL) I went there after my nieces wedding, and they were having edgewater days. definitely one of the best memories of my life. I will never forget it. mike

Pros: Nice place to gather your thoughts and regroup....

Cons: If you having a real bad day, it might be depressing

.

When the pizza is good, its great. On the occasional bad days, its barely average. Same with the service - sometimes fast and friendly. Sometimes both you and the staff are sorry you're there. Mikey's on 38th is slightly better, but slower and more pricy. I've been eating there for well over forty years. When I was a kid, it was consistantly great and service was always wonderful. The old man did everything right. Just not what it used to be. But, all things considered, still the best deal on pizza in west Denver. Cheeseburgers are pretty good, too. Not the best environment for kids, but not terrible either. Usually enough smoke to choke on, but that should be history by now. Really crowded on weekend evenings. Nice, safe neighborhood. Worth the drive - ENJOY!

People either seem to love or hate this place. I don't know if they have bad days, or if certain people just have different expectations for pizza, but so far, Edgewater has the best pizza I've had in a while. As a San Francisco native, I have had access to a lot of good pies, and wasn't too impressed with Denver's selection until I found Edgewater! Great divey atmosphere with cheap booze and the killer Howdy pizza - big sausage and great crust that holds up. I love the heated patio, and it beats the heck out of paying $25 for Basil Docs! My only complaint is they close the bar too early on weekdays!

Being that I was born and raised on some of the best pizza in the country, I can honestly say that Edgewater pizza is not even worth trying. The dough lacks any taste, the sauce has no flavor, and the toppings were skimpy to say the least. Laugh if you must, but I'd take a $5 frozen Freschetta Italian style pepperoni over an Edgewater pizza anyday.

While sipping on your scooner (goblet of beer) read a little history about the little town called edgewater. I grew up in Edgewater and from time to time my Dad even delivered pizzas for Benny. It's just a corner bar that sponsors local sports teams and has football/baseball/basketball & hockey on ALL the time. The Howdy Special is the only pizza outside of New York that my husband will eat -- no gimmicks (put honey on your pizza crust -- please), just a great pizza.

The Howdy Special is the only pizza outside of New York that my husband will eat -- no gimmicks (put honey on your pizza crust -- please), just a great pizza.

Some friends and I recently visted, having heard how good it was. When we arrived there were no tables, and no where out of the way to stand. The pizza when it arrived was cold and not what we ordered, and the drinks were watered. The waitress was very arrogant. Needless to say we will not be back.

Many pizza parlors have pizza that tastes worse than the cardboard it comes in. Edgewater has great down home pizza, the kind you tell all of your friends about. I have done just that.

Let's face it - Denver pizza will never compare with the big boys: Chicago, New York, Rome... But for the best za in our cow-town, you have to stop into Edgewater. On a side street next to Sloan's Lake, Edgewater Inn has the best crust (is it butter that makes it so tasty??), tasty sauce, and all of usual toppings (Ahh - if only they would replace the canned mushrooms with the real deal). Try the Howdy Special for a little kick to the tastebuds. The schooners of beer are unmatched around town, and the price can't be beat. The "divey" atmosphere is straight out of decades past, and the wait staff is efficient and friendly enough. And with Sloan's Lake so nearby for an after dinner stroll, dinner at the Edgewater Inn is almost a negative calorie affair!
