Pros: Cream Sauces

Cons: BUSY BUT WELL WORTH IT

Went with a friend during a busy lunch and found the food to be good and simple. Nice clean flavors. Only drawback is the lack of service. The waitress never came back to refill or ask about the meal. My friend mentioned they are like that all the time. Taste is more important to me than service so I'll knock off a star for that. Overall, it is a good place.

Pros: Best family style Italian

Cons: Servers are inattentive

I've been eating at this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. I traveled through Italy for two weeks and never got a meal close to as good as I've gotten in this restaurant.
Get there when they open to ensure you don't have to wait. They open at 5.
Great food - Great prices. What else could anyone want in a restaurant.
Also, it made it in 5280 Magazine for top 10 restaurants priced at under $50 for two. You can spend much less than that if you don't get drinks or dessert.

Pros: Fantastic Italian food from a real italian.

Cons: The secret is out. You'll probably wait for a table.

.

wouldnt suggest this lack luster restaurant.
Owner was ridiculously rude. First timers opted to leave after spending only 15 minutes in her presence.
Arrived with a party of 5, asked if we could pull up a chair after ordering a 6th persons dinner due to him being late because of traffic. SHE WOULD ABSOLUTLY NOT do this for us. Not in the rules she said. She was extremely rude. I wouldnt suggest this restaurant.

I'm bot a big fan of Italian food and was a little iffy on trying Cafe Jordano out. But when I took my first bite I was SOLD! They were not stingy on the food at all. There was nothing bad about the food or the place! I will absolutely go back!

Honestly, I'm reluctant to give Cafe Jordano the exceptional review it deserves because my wife and I would like to keep it our little secret. Alas, the word is out and the restaurant has a cult following like none other. We've been dining here regularly for the last seven years, and the food is unmatched at this price point. Bobs Favorite is their most popular dish, but be warned, its highly addictive. Having waited tables and tended bar through college, I'm continually amazed by the efficiency and competency of the wait staff. Even at full tilt, the place operates like a well-oiled machine.

Love this place. Everything positive people are saying is true. Yes there is a wait, BUT....they also offer takeout, so why not phone an order in and go pick it up? We do that most of the time because we have little ones and it's just easier to eat at home. But when it's the two of us, and we want good Italian food, we head straight to Cafe Jordano!

Pros: Really Good Food!

My husband is a Chef and I've worked in restaurants for years and sometimes have a difficult time going out - I want awesome food with quality service and I don't want to break the bank either. Our first trip to Cafe Jordano was New Years Eve and I was floored. I love, absolutely love Italian food and oh my god it was DELICIOUS! We were told the wait was that of a typical Friday or Saturday night and that was fine by us. We waited maybe 45 minutes but for such exceptional food and wonderful service, it was well worth it. I can't think of any restaurant besides Cafe Jordano that I would actually sit and wait at for a meal but Wow! We'll keep going regularly and wait on Friday and Saturday night cause if you are going to wait for food, shouldn't it be the best Italian food in Denver?
The price was lower than I was anticipating, the ambiance was relaxed - great for a family visit, date or out with the kids.
We were very impressed and can't wait to go back! And bring everyone we know who appreciated great food! Stop reading and go already!

Cons: No reservations but worth the wait

I went to Jordanos for the first time and I think it is already my favorite Italian restrauant . I live in the area and drove by a million times thinking it was just a sandwich place and never stopped. We had great service and the meals were outstanding. Its gets very busy from opening on so get there a little early for Dinner.

As an excellent home chef with Italian heritage, I can vouch for the delicious food at Cafe Jordano with lots of dining experiences. I've been eating there over 15 years. Yes, you have to wait if you don't arrive right at 5, or later in the evening. Yes, the staff can be a little rushed, but it is to be expected at a bustling family owned business. So, if you want to go somewhere quiet and candlelit, this isn't the place. On the other hand, if you want delicious well-executed, Italian dishes that always taste excellent, and a fun and packed social atmosphere come here and Manga! I literally crave this place. Recommended with authority!

Pros: The excellent food; easy parking; a menu that keeps your favorite classics

Cons: Busy; 30-60 minute wait if you don't time it right

This is my third time to the restaurant and it keeps getting worse. Each time the wait has taken longer and longer.

Service - We arrived 10 minutes early with reservations and were still not seated until 20 minutes after the reservation (total wait 30 minutes WITH RESERVATIONS). Then it took another 20 minutes before the waiter even took our order. Service was lousy and the waiter had his head in the clouds. We had to ask several times for the "complementary" bread, drink refills, etc.

Food - I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. It was watery and the cream sauce lacked much flavor. The portion was slightly small. My father ordered their special, Shrimp Scampi. Not only did it not have any pasta on the dish, the portion was so tiny. He had to fill up on bread afterwards.

Wine/Drinks - Their selection of wine was small and most of the wine listed had "replacement" wines instead. And if you order a soft drink, it is $1.50 and they bring you a can of soda (the same 12 oz can you can buy for $0.50).

Prices ? Our meal included salad and bread in the price. My Fettuccine was $9.25.

Overall ? I will never return to Cafe Jordano. Three strikes and you?re out. As much as I hate the chain restaurants, I would recommend Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill over this place. They are too tiny and too snooty. While acting like they are a four-star restaurant, they are far from it. They are ?Fine Dining? without the ?Fine?.

If you are looking for a great family-owned Italian restaurant, try Mama Roma's instead.

Great authentic italian dishes in a family-owned Italian resteraunt. One of the things that makes this resteraunt unique, however, is a selection of Buffalo Italian dishes. Not what you would call their most authentic dishes, but they are to die for.

We have dined at Cafe Jordano for over 6 years and enjoy their food and service. We have family in Westminster and live in Idaho Falls, ID. It is a favorite of my son and his wife, who drive over 30 miles to dine at Cafe Jordano. The last time we were there in November '06, my nephew and his wife from Parker brought their two boys (4 & 7) with their 6 month old twins. The service at Cafe Jordano was excellent and food fantastic. They were very attentive to the kids as if they were family and carried the twins them around the tables. As for me, a retired and critical senior citizen; they satisfied my culinary needs with a great Italian pasta dish and wines that were competitively priced.I'd rate them a 4 out of 5 consistently. As a reference for my critique I dine at 4-5 star restaurants from Portland to Orlando and from Boston to San Diego. Cafe Jordano may be lacking in fine dining aesthetics, but they are definitely "family" and "homey".

I love Jordano's! The best dishes are the ones with names like "Bobs" or "Barbs". The gnochi is fabulous, as is the tiramisu! The salad is really simple, but the soup is good with bread for dipping! The atmosphere can get kind of loud, but it makes me feel right at home and you know everyone is enjoying themselves. They can get very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so be prepared to wait! Or make reservations for parties of 6 or more.

Went on 07/10/06 with my picky mother-in-law and hubby for dinner. They had been closed for a couple of weeks for vacation and this was their first night re-opening and it was busy. We got there around 8pm and waited for about 20 minutes to get a table. The service was great (but I admit it hasn't always been that way), my mother-in-law couldn't make up her mind so they took our soup/salad order while she decided. The food was really yummy, we had a shared appetizer, three entrees and a bottle of wine for $60 (not including tip) and we all loved our dishes. Can't wait to go back for more of Bob's Favorite!

I've been going to this place for years and have watched them go from a tiny hole in the wall to a larger and more classy place. The food has remained the same and is some of the best Italian i've ever had. Their Chicken Marsala is AMAZING! It's a little hard to find unless you're looking for it, it's nesteled in a King Soopers strip mall in the 'burbs.

Cafe Jordano has been one of ouyr family staples since it opened. The food is great and inexpensive. Try the Mussel appetizer and Egplant Parmigiana or one of the Buffalo dishes for the entree. The wait is sometimes long and we have seen "friends of the owner" seated before people already waiting and the service is sometimes spotty, but the great food makes it worh going to.

I read about this restaurant being rated "Best Restaurant for Families" in Westword magazine. I am not sure if I agree with that, but it was definitely a good place to eat. They didn't offer a children's menu which was disappointing considering they were rated best for families. However, the food was to die for and the staff very friendly. It is also very affordable.

The service here is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! We waited for over an hour for a table. When we asked the hostess about a table( after we saw her seat some friends that had just walked in and avoid the list ) she made an excuse and was rude! We wanted to leave but after waiting an hour you are sort of commited and hungry! This place is totally overrated. I will never give them my business again. There are much better Italian places in Denver.

The owner/hostess was horrible. We arrived at 7:47 for a 7:45 reservation, and were very rudely approached by this person who claimed our table had been held for 30 min. Add to this that their sign on the outside of the location is mostly out, makes it rather difficult for first time customers to locate. In an almost threatening manner she told us unless we were seated in 5 min. our table would be given away. Our party was driving around the parking lot trying to find the place, but arrived in the very nick of time. She was also overheard by members of our party, telling people as she sat them that we were responsible for their long wait. Her behavior was unacceptable, as good as the food is, we will not go back. I guess ownership has it's priveledges.

Although we had to wait a while (about a half hour at 8:00 on a Thursday night) I was promised by a friend that it was worth the wait. It definitely was. It was a great Italian family atmosphere. My main dish was exquisite. Not monster gonna require a heart bypass later portions, but good dinner sized portions. Great service. I would recommend it again as it was one of the better if not best italian restaraunts I've been to in Denver. Only recommendation i have is get the soup and not the salad (the salads are swimming in dressing).

I live nearby and when I'm in the mood for good Italian I come here. You do have to arrive close to opening or you will have to wait for a table. I love the Shrimp dishes and the garlic bread is great for dipping into the sauces. Not a big fan of their salads.

We went to Cafe Jordano for my husband's birthday. While the food was OK the service was terrible. We felt very rushed. Either only the regulars go here and you are expected to know what to order or they wanted to go home and we were some how holding them up (as were all the other patrons.) This is just down the street from us and I was rather disappointed (based on the other ratings) that this wasn't better.

One of my three favorites in Denver. Best Italian I've had yet, Better than Maggiano's and better than Buca di Beppo and less expensive. Sometimes you have to wait - they don't accept reservations. Not a big deal for me.

I have heard a lot of good things about this place so since I work near the area, a few coworkers and I decided to check it out for lunch. From what I could see the lunch menu was pretty similar to the dinner menu...After we ate we all decided this was "Italian" food you would find in a cafeteria. Very bland and resembles something I could find in the frozen food section of my local grocer's. I got the spinach cannelloni and while it was edible, not anything great at all. A nice place for a cheap meal when you're feeling lazy but not something I intend to revisit...garlic bread was cold and hard and my salad leaves were struggling to breath in the amount of ranch poured on (not to mention pepper wasn't offered). Too bad...

This place is a bit of a drive for me and my friends, but we decided to try it based on the reviews. We all agree that the appetizer was fabulous. the shrimp were tender, the tomato cream sauce was so scrumptious we sopped it all up. but then.. the entrees let us down. My pizzaiola was tough and covered in gravy. I've got family in NY and went every summer, Little Italy has some of the best Italian in America, and pizzaiola steak is NOT supposed to have gravy on it. The pasta dishes were decent if a little bland, and the chicken entree was dry. For dessert, the waitress hyped the "homemade Tirimisu." It was ok, but it was on the dry side. I've had better. I suppose all the good reviews were from locals.. there are hardly any other restaurants in the area. Drive folks, Drive!

Pros: cheery atmosphere, friendly waitress, wonderful appetizers!

Cons: tiny wine/drinks list, very far drive, mediocre italian food

.

Cafe' Jordano services authentic Italian family cuisuine with excellent pasta dishes and deserts. Arrive early for lunch, around 11:15am if you want a seat, it fills up rapidly. Try Bob's Special one of the finest things on the menu, chicken breast fillet in a wine cream sauce with asparagus and melted cheese. Warning, Cafe' Jordano will not seat incomplete parties, this can be annoying. One of the best Italian restaurants in Denver!

Pros: Great Food, Reasonably Priced, Excellent Service

Cons: Noisy, Open, Very Busy

This restaurant may be small but it is extremely busy, and for a good reason! The food is cooked fresh and authentic. Don't go unless you have resevations or don't mind waiting a while to be seated. If you have the time to wait however, the food and experience are worth it!

I've been going to Cafe Jordano for years now, and I'm so happy they expanded! It used to be if you got there right at 5 when they opened, unless you were some of the first in line, it was a 30 minute wait right off the bat! I absolutely crave "Bob's favorite" . Mmmmmm, maybe I'll go tonight!

Pros: mouth watering, wonderful sauces, delicious

Cons: mediocre wine, service needs improve

Easily the best italian food in Denver with a neighborhood feel and prices so cheap I still can't believe them. Their specials (Bob's, Barb's and Mark's) are really great, and the owners are always around to chat.

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Waiting sometimes

The food is exquisite. The service is speedy. The waiting in line is irritating but worth it. Elisa, the owner, is an exhuberant hostess. It's the type of place you are happy to recommend to anyone and the type of place you are proud to bring your family and friends to. The old world hospitality and genuine good food is something I look forward to at least once a month!

In Short
The interior looks like an upgraded diner with a hint of Italy: bright yellow walls, plenty of table decorations and old family photos on the menus. Since the eatery doesn't take reservations, nightly crowds wait in…
