Aside from the avg service (I guess I got lucky) the food was actually pretty good. The green chili sauce on the chimi was actually spicy. The wife's ground beef in the taco thing was VERY good.

The salsa tasted like sweet spaghetti sauce, but apparently EVERY friggin place in Denver is like this. WTF? we ordered the queso, and WOW... that was good. They essentially took the great green sauce and mixed it w/ velveta and milk (as you would at home) and it was great.

Now, if you could just fix the salsa... hell, go to the store and buy a jar, taste it.. NOT SWEET, NOT SPAGHETTI... and the service could be better..... but on the flip side, you dont have to pay extra for refills or more chips.

I will be returning for a second round, I hope this wasnt a fluke. Maybe I'll talk to the manager and ask what kinda tomato they buy.... i will figure this mystery out, somehow.

over all the food was okay. The downside of it is that if you pay with your credit card be sure to check your statement because I was over charged even though I left a tip. If I ever go there again I will always pay cash.

Wife wanted mexican so this was my first time to Armadillos. The restaurant is clean and looks nice inside. I ordered a combo meal, the food was average tasting at best my wife ordered a burrito supreme that was thin. The chips were store bought and the salsa tasted like a diluted pizza sauce. The prices are average but the quality of the food is average at best. I will look for someplace else next time we want mexican.

I love the armadillo! Their chips and salsa are probably my favorite food. I'm addicted. I think all the food is good, everything I've tried at least. I'm a vegetarian and they are one of the few Mexican restaurants that have good vegetarian green chile. I go there at least once a week, and most the waiters know who I am. The service for the most part is good, but I will admit every once in a while I get a server who just provides horrible service. This does not happen often though.

I took my boyfriend and roommate out for dinner here about 2 weeks ago. We all love Mexican food and were driving down Mississippi and spotted The Armadillo. It was a Friday night, around 8pm, and the place was completely dead. I was a little scared at that point. Restaurants are dead at peak hours when they've proven themselves to be sub par. We were promptly seated, drinks brought out quickly. We waited a little longer than we should have for our appetizer of chile con queso (melted cheese... how long can that take when you're not serving anybody else?). The table was also sticky and it irritated me though out dinner. I ordered the chile relleno plate. It was mediocre at best. The beans were mealy, the rice had hardly any flavor and the chile rellanos were soft, mushy and really unappealing. The quality of food did not match the price tag. Our service however was good. I downed about 3 giant glasses of water. On our way out, I stopped by the bathroom. It was shocking how dirty it was! I saw paper everywhere, water all over the sink and just turned around and walked out. I made the boys hurry up with their cigarettes so we could drive home so I could use the bathroom! I don't think I will be returning.

Pros: Chile con queso, large glasses of water & good service.

Cons: The food was mediocre, too expensive for the quality of food that is brought to you, sticky table and absolutely dirty, disgusting bathrooms!

For the past four years, we have eaten at the Armadillo in Aurora for Mother's Day. We are very pleased with the food and service. My daughter and son-in-law also love the eat there. The food is the best that we have had for a Sunday brunch, many choices, and always refilled to perfection. I especially love the color of the restaurant and how clean it is. I would recommend it to everyone.

I was taken to your establishment last week Thursday night for my birthday and ordered your Yucatan Shrimp bucket. It arrived cold and very greasy. It was far from tasty I ate some out of the respect of my friend that took me out for my birthday due to the fact I didn't want to embarrass her as she picked the restaurant I did not report it.

Used to go to this restaurant around once a month, mostly because there aren??t many Mexican restaurants in Aurora to choose from that aren??t located in a old strip mall. The food is Fair, but it??s nothing to get excited about. The problem is the service. While there are a few employees that seem to work hard, like the busboys. The busboys will bring you chips and salsa as soon as you sit down, and are always stopping buy to refill your drinks and chips. A lot more than the waiters or waitresses will, as they don??t work as hard. But the Hostess is another story, good luck if she??s even at the entrance when you get there, the hostesses seem to lollygag around like they don??t want to work. They are painfully slow, and downright annoying. It is always this way! But the kicker is to warn you that even though they say they are open till 9pm, you had better show up by 7:30pm or so or they might be closed. The third time I went there at 8pm and they just said that there wasn??t any business so they closed early, was the last time for me. I wont waste any more chances or time driving down there only for them to be closed on a whim.

We went to this restaurant on Mother's Day. We walked in and were ignored by the host. Instead he sat a party of 5, then came back and sat us. As we sat down at our table, I needed to use the restroom. I excused myself to find it. When I returned, my husband had asked for a booster seat so our son could sit down. None had been brought over yet. We waited 4 more minutes for someone to bring us one and no one did. I asked the bartender for one and he went to the back and didn't come out. We waited another 5 minutes and at that point, the party of 5 that was seated next to us had already ordered their food. We didn't even have a seat yet so we left.

PROS: Good food
CONS: Rude employees
