Berry Patch Farms is located just northeast of Denver in Brighton. It is an adventure to find since it is tucked back on a side road that can be difficult to find (there is a sign on the corner pointing to Berry Patch so just keep an eye out for that). Parking is in an unpaved area in front of the red barn which serves as the entry point to the Farm. Don't worry if it looks like the small parking lot is full; there is an overflow parking lot right next door. Be sure to drive slowly through the parking area so you don't hit one of the many chickens the wander around the property.

Inside the red barn you will find a farmer's market full of fresh vegetables if you choose not to pick your own. Otherwise the friendly staff will direct you to the field with the veggies or fruit of your choice. The choices are amazing! Many of the items can be walked to but for further crops you will be taken on a ride out to the field. The staff is very helpful about explaining the propery way to pick the produce. They teach the kids how to harvest without destroying the future crop.

Back in the red barn you pay for your produce. They also bottled water and juice boxes, delicious natural fruit snacks, and honey. If you go upstairs in the red barn you can see the workings of a bee hive.

There are outhouse-style restrooms and hand washing stations.

PROS: Super Variety of Crops, Friendly Informative Staff, Organic Produce
CONS: Difficult to Find

At first I thought this was a bad idea. Who wants to pick their own veggies and stuff when you can buy them at the store. But once we got here we had a ton of fun. It's something out of the ordinary at least to get you outside and enjoying Colorado's summer weather. On top of that you're getting a little exercise and some healthy foods.

We went last year in October for their festival, and we can't wait to go back. They had a hay-ride out to the raspberry and strawberry fields where you can pick your own. They had a straw maze for the kids, face painting, etc.
Their general store is just awesome! It is worth the drive out here, and a great day of fun. Great family!
